  • This study is interested in modeling the selection of optimal repair materials in view of the qualitative evaluation. In order to architecting the evaluation model of various repair alternatives, Analytical hierarchy process techniques was applied to this study. It is composed of aesthetics, easy-to-application, economical efficiency, and environment-friendly properties in upper level. Among the qualitative evaluation items, Environment-friendly properties and execution cost included in economical efficiency is highly weighted. It was concluded that the evaluation model by this study is very useful to choose the best alternative among various repair materials.

  • 최근들어 고속도로, 고속철도,지하철 등의 건설이 급격히 증가함에 따라 터널의 건설이 늘어나고 있다. 이러한 터널등의 건설에서 필수적으로 따르는 것이 숏크리트의 시공이며 이러한 숏크리트의 시공은 앞으로 더욱 증가할 추세에 있다. 그러나 숏크리트의 광범위한 시공에도 불구하고 현재 여러 가지 문제점을 내포하고 있는 것이 사실이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우리나라 현행 숏크리트의 현황과 문제점을 도출하여 성능개선을 위한 최적 배합을 도출하고 고품질의 숏크리트 시공을 위하여 실리카퓸 숏크리트의 개발 및 적용과 인성(Toughness)과 연성(Ductility)을 대폭 증가시키고 시공속도를 빠르게 하여 안전성과 함께 경제성을 확보할 수 있는 강섬유보강 숏크리트의 개발 및 적용에 대한 연구를 집중적을 수행하였다. 본 연구로부터 숏크리트의 최적 배합을 도출하였고 강도와 내구성을 함께 증가시키고 리바운드율을 대폭 감소시킬 수 있는 실리카퓸 숏크리트를 개발하였다. 또한 wiremesh를 대체할 수 있는 강섬유보강 숏크리트를 개발하여 실내시험 및 현장 적용성 시험을 수행하였다.

  • As the land price in the downtown area increases, buildings are becoming bigger, deeper and higher. Consequently, the importance of underground construction has increased. Although construction engineers make every effort to complete underground construction without any problem, construction failures like landslides and the collapse of a retaining wall occur because of the uncertainty of the soil conditions as well as the unexpected risks of excavation work. In order to prevent potential excavation accidents, it is essential to understand the causes and impacts of such accidents. However, there are only a few examples of construction failures, which show the economic impact on accidents during excavation because of the sensibility of the information. This paper presents two cases of excavation accidents, which were investigated by construction insurance company. The compensation for the accidents paid by the insurance company was compared with the estimated costs calculated based on the estimation method for excavation accidents proposed by our previous study. The comparison results showed that the estimate calculated by our method was much less than the actual compensation because the estimate solely focused on the construction costs whereas the compensation included other external factors.

  • Compared to the other industries, construction industry depends many parts of production activities on manpower. And also 3D perception on construction industry and the shortage of motivation in construction workers are the biggest reason to reduce construction productivity. So to solve this problem, the research of factors which affect more to improve the construction workers attitude in construction site will be needed. This research has investigated that the productivity and important factors was divided to economic factors, social factors, psychological factors. The result show that economic factors remain pre-eminent in influencing productivity, but that social factors and psychological factors appear to be of increasing importance in this construction industry.

  • In the high water pressure construction conditions, it is important that the failures and damages occurrence in the neighboring ground and impermeable prevention methods (design and construction) for a inflow of seawater into structures. Grouting construction markets include a subway construction, a railway construction, a mountain tunnel construction, a new & reinforced construction of river & reservoir levee with big budget per every years. but, there are economic loss about design and construction management parts because that management criteria is not accurate but depends on experiences. Even though grouting technology are using vitally in the major constructions of national levels, it is still serious about the low-reliability problems and the no-criteria problems. therefor the purpose of this study is that provides the fundamental research about the neo-grouting technology for the decreasing of ground disaster in a high water pressure conditions.

  • We will introduce a method of construction of super-block curtain wall applied to Tower Palace III which is the highest high-rise complex building in Korea. Up-up method is utilized on Tower Palace III to shorten the term of works and it is that the curtain walls for the belt wall part are installed after the rests. The belt wall structure increases the horizontal structural stiffness of the building. The method of construction of super-block curtain wall is developed and used to raise and install the curtain wails of the belt wall floor. It is that the large block of curtain walls corresponding to three stories is fabricated on the ground in advance and the block is installed at a time by a tower crane. Specialized installing equipment :,s newly developed and applied to install the super-block. curtain wail. The curtain wall of the upper floor of the belt wall part is installed after the super-block. The installing equipment for this floor is developed utilizing a mini excavator and vacuum suctions. The application of this method had made it possible to omit the setting up the scaffold and financial profits such as the shortening of the terms of works was realized. The safety of works was secured and the productivity was also improved.

  • The window cleaning works are manpower-dependent and are performed in an unstable posture at high altitude, so that there is a risk of falling. Therefore, there is an urgent need to improve the safety of workers. In this study, a conceptual design was proposed for the cleaning of exterior windows of a building, and the economic feasibility of the proposed conceptual model was analyzed. The proposed model is designed to avoid protrusions such as window frames, and to be able to respond even if the shapes of the upper and lower parts are different. As a result of analyzing the economic feasibility of the designed conceptual model, the benefit cost ratio was 4.48, which was significantly higher than 1. Therefore, the economic feasibility of the proposed window cleaning device is expected to be sufficient. The results analyzed in this paper will be used in the development and marketing of the window cleaning device.

Economic Analysis of Box Mechanical Behavior Materials Using LCC Analysis (LCC를 고려한 BOX구조물 뒷채움 재료의 경제성 분석)

  • The lightweight bubble mixture soil is used for soft ground rear-filling material by applying reduced weight on structure. However, comparing with the general soil, it is not applied in domestic because of initial phase cost of construction. General soil, which has lower initial phase cost is usually used for rear-filling, but the use of overlay method of general soil is reduced as the number of layers increases. Especially box structure placed in soft ground or the overlay method when gap near pier rear-filling can be replaced with temporary alternative method, however, it can't be a solution to gap by generation of extra weight of thickness of overlaying. Therefore, execute LCC analysis of two alternative-the general and the lightweight bubble mixture soils, which are rear-filling material of box structure- and present economical analysis in order to make resonable decision from the economics. As a result, although the lightweight bubble mixture soil takes higher initial phase cost than the general soil, it has been analyzed to procure economical efficiency by having less cost of maintenance.

  • D&B(Drill & Blast) method in tunnel construction requires accurate and rapid measurement of the ground movement, which is essential for feedback analysis. Case study and adaptability of IT technique for tunnel survey are discussed in this paper. The application of laserscannig and existing light wave instrument method in the field of tunnel construction were reported in several advanced country including Austria and Japan. Survey for the shoulder movements by IT survey method was conducted at a subway construction site and the results were compared to the conventional method. Also, the economic aspects of laserscannig method were analyzed using measured data which were categorized by expenses, frequency, interval and period in the field of construction. Therefore IT survey solution may contribute to execute more economic and safe construction

  • This paper describes the design and construction of a 2-arch tunnel with varying section. This new design has advantages of 2-arch tunnels, which is rather expensive, but is still economically competitive compared to parallel tunnels. Economic analysis was also conducted. To secure the stability of the varying section tunnel, excavated part was reinforced by tie-bolts and RRS, and 2-arch part was supported by EPS blocks and concrete walls. Stability of the pillar was theoretically analyzed and also examined by numerical simulations for various widths. Displacement monitoring was conducted and results were compared with numerical results. Economic analysis showed reductions in construction cost and period by 11% and 10 months respectively.
