We report a case of epidural hematoma occuring after bloody tap during epi-dural catheter for cancer pain control in thrombocytopenic patient. Two hours after epidurl puncture, patient experienced severe back pain and numbness of both legs. Following day, patient complained of motor paralysis and urinary difficulty. Diagnosis utilizing magnetic reasonance imaging, showed epidural hematoma extending from $T_{11}$ to $T_{12}$. Thrombocytopenia prevented surgical intervention. Therefore we restored conservative therapy with packed red cell, platelet concentration, steroid and hemostatic, which provided complete neurologic recovery, spontaneously over several days without surgical intervention.

In this paper, we describe a study on the relationship between neutral emulsion manufacture and hardening test of films. The hardeners were prepared by condensation of equimolar amounts of trichlorotriazine with benzene- or naphthalene-based amino or oxy acids at 0 to $5^{\circ}C$ and at pH 7, and used as hardening agents for gelatin. The hardening test of neutral emulsion layers was studied at pH 7.0. For example I(R=ONa) had strong hardening properties, I substituted with an aminobenzosulfonate moiety $(R=NHC_6H_4-p-SO_3Me$ where Me = K, Na) was a much weaker gelatin hardener, and when substituted with amino- or oxynaphthalene derivative (II, III) did not harden gelatin at all. Compound with 2 dichlorotriazine groups as IV exhibited hardening properties. The hardener can be used in neutral emulsion layer of film and showed good hardening effect.

Development of a noninvasive intensive care system calls for the use of evoked potentials (EPs), as a means of diagnosing traumatic head-injured patients. The experiment entails surgically plating two subarachnoid bolts and a subdural balloon through the skull to simulate a subdural hematoma. Using various levels of intracranial pressure (ICP) and/or different sizes of balloons, auditory evoked potentials (AEPs) were recorded from a rabbit. Six positive peat latencies ($P_1-P_6$) and five negative peak latencies ($N_1-N_5$) were extracted from an averaged AEP waveform. Multiple regression analyses were performed for determining a relationship between the ICP and AEP peak latencies. The results indicate that a major correlation of changes on AEP peak latencies is due to mechanical forcer of a mass (inflated balloon simulating a hematoma) in the distortion of the brain matter rather than increased ICP.

Although spontaneous resolution of chronic subdural hematoma (C-SDH) in the elderly has rarely been reported, spontaneous resolution of bilateral C-SDH is very rare. Here, we report the case of a 73-year-old female patient with no significant head trauma history who had a bilateral C-SDH spontaneously resolve despite receiving only conservative treatment. However, because of a lack of detailed knowledge about the mechanisms of resolution, treatment is often limited to surgical interventions that are generally successful, but invasive and prone to recurrence. We review the literature and discuss the possible relation of C-SDH's spontaneous resolution with its clinical and radiological characteristics.

The hardeners were prepared by condensation of equimolar amounts of trichlorotriazine with benzene-or naphthalene-based amino or oxy acids at 0 to $5^{\circ}C$ and at pH 7, and used as hardening agents for gelatin. The hardening test of alkaline magenta emulsion was studied at pH 8.5. For example I(R=ONa) had strong hardening properties, I substituted with an aminobenzosulfonate moiety (R=NHC6H4-p-SO3Me where Me = K, Na) was a much weaker gelatin hardener, and when substituted with amino- or oxynaphthalene derivative (II, III) did not harden gelatin at all. Compound with 2 dichlorotriazine groups as IV exhibited hardening properties. The hardener can be used in alkaline magenta emulsion layer of film and showed good hardening effect.

A traumatic spinal subdural hematoma is a rare condition, and only nine cases have been reported until now. We report a rare case of concomitant intracranial hemorrhage and spinal subdural hematoma with a review of the literature. A 45-year-old man was referred to our institute after being stroke by a car. He complained of nausea, headache, back pain, and bilateral sciatica. Brain computed tomography and lumbar spine magnetic resonance images revealed both an intracerbral hemorrhage and a subdural hematoma in the L4 to S1 level. After performing a lumbar spinal puncture and draining the hemorrhagic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the intracranial and spinal hematomas were resolved completely without any neruologic deficits.

Objective : To report one case where Subdural Hematoma(SDH) in operation indication was treated by Scalp Acupuncture therapy. Methods : The changes in clinical symptoms of headache, dizziness, nausea, vommitting were described when this patient was treated with scalp acupuncture therapy and with herb medication. Results : Symptoms (headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting. etc) at admission decayed gradually with Scalp Acupuncture therapy. The patients could walk alone at discharge. Conclusion : Though she had been in op. indication, the patient's health improved by herbmedications of Dodamcheseup($d{\breve{a}}ot{\acute{a}}nchu{\acute{u}}shi$)-Tang etc. and by Scalp Acupuncture therapy.

Idiopathic hypertrophic cranial pachymeningitis (ICHP) is diffuse inflammatory process of the dura mater. ICHP can produce similar presentation with Tolosa-Hunt syndrome (THS) if it involves cavernous sinus. A-29-year old male with persistent headache and no definite neurologic dysfunction was noted. Two weeks later, he complained of ophthalmoplegia, and his symptoms were thought to be manifestations of THS. Brain magnetic resonance images revealed diffuse thickened, enhanced pachymeninges in left tentorium. The patient was diagnosed with IHCP. We report a IHCP patient who showed very similar presentation as THS.

부비동 점액낭종은 주로 전두동과 사골동에 발생하며 점차 커져서 인접 기관에 영향을 미치기도 한다. 저자들은 1985년 1월부터 1991년 3월까지 충남대학교병원 이비인후과에서 부비동 점액낭종으로 수술받았던 15예를 대상으로 임상분석을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 성별은 남자 6예 여자 9예였고, 연령은 17세에서 79세까지였으며 50대에서 5예로 가장 많았다. 병변부위로는 사골동에 국한된 경우가 7예로 가장 많았고, 전두동과 사골동을 동시에 침범한 경우가 4예, 전두동에 국한된 경우가 2예, 사골동과 접형동을 침범한 경우가 1례였다. 안증상은 11예에서 있었으며 그중 안구돌출이 7예로 가장 많았고, 시력감퇴 6예, 안구운동장애 4예 등이었다. 5예에서 두개저 파괴로 인한 경막의 노출이 있었다. 치료는 사골동 비외수술법이 7예로 가장 많았고, Lynch operation 4예, 골성형 전두동수술 2예, Lateral rhinotomy를 통한 배액 1예, Midfacial degloving approach를 통한 배액이 1예였다.
