The routing protocols designed for wired networks can hardly be used for mobile ad-hoc networks due to limited bandwidth of wireless transmission and unpredictable topological change. Recently, several routing protocols for mobile ad-hoc networks have been Proposed. However, when theme protocols are applied to support real time services like multimedia transmission, they still have problems in ad-hoc networks, where the topology changes drastically. In this paper, we propose a new route selection algorithm which selects the most reliable route that is impervious to route failures by topological changes by mobile hoots. For reliable route selection, the concept of virtual zone (stable zone and caution zone) is proposed. The zone is located in a mobile node'transmission range and determined by mobile node's mobility information received by Global Positioning System (GPS). The proposed algorithm is applied to the route discovery procedure of the existing on-demand routing protocol, AODV, and evaluated by simulation in various traffic conditions and mobility patterns.

In this paper, we designed and proposed new routing algorithm that can support a variety of vital-sign traffic characteristic and could be applicable to USN for telemedicine by using adaptive transmission power level and increase frequency of routing request message. In proposed routing algorithm, when an emergency vital-sign traffic is applied, we use large transmission power to reduce route query response time and make the priority order in route process. On the other hand, for non emergency vital-sign traffic, we use low transmission power and adaptive decrease frequency of routing request message. which is insensitive to delay. The proposed scheme should be better QoS performance in complex USN than conventional method, which is performed based on uniform transmission power level.
Fast restoration time and service guarantee are the important goals to achieve the network reliability. In the protection switching scheme, one way to guarantee service fro an application session if a network happens to fail is to establish the restoration path that amounts to the same bandwidth of the working path of the session at the same time. When we setup the restoration path, we can reduce the bandwidth consumption by the restoration path if the path can share the bandwidth required by the other paths. This paper explains the methods how to determine the shared bandwidth of the restoration path in the protection switching scheme, given the maximum bandwidth assigned to a link along the working path. We point out that such sharing algorithm can not reduce the bandwidth consumption by the restoration paths in some cases, which contradict the general conception. We explain why this can happen, and show the simulation results in real network topologies to prove our arguments. We explain the reason of the failure of the sharing effect by the simple sharing algorithm. Finally we propose the way of how we can overcome the failure of the sharing effect, using the complete sharing algorithm based on the link database and showing the results.
Routing and wavelength assignment(RWA) problem is an important issue in optical transport networks based on wavelength division multiplexing(WDM) technique. It is typically solved using a combination of linear programming and graph coloring, or path selection based graph algorithms. Such methods are either complex or make extensive use of heuristics. In this paper we propose a novel and efficient approach which basically obtains the maximum edge disjoint paths (EDPs) for each source-destination demand pair. And those EDPs obtained are stored in Lookup Table and used for the update of weight matrix. Routes are determined in order by the weight matrix for the demand set. The comprehensive computer simulation shows that the Proposed algorithm uses similar or fewer wavelengths with significantly less execution time than bounded greedy approach (BGA) for EDP which is currently known to be effective in practice.

An ad hoc network is infra(Base Sstation or Access Point) free wireless mobile communication technology. Mobile nodes function as routers and servers in ad hoc networks. Many routing protocols for ad hoc network have been proposed. If any route is broken owing to moving node, source must repair broken route again. But route repair technology after route collapses is not suitable to transmit real-time data packet for QoS guarantee. So this paper presents route repair technology that prevents route from breaking. If intermediate node moves to critical section, the node issues handoff packet and sends the packet to the next node. After next node receives handoff packet, the node broadcasts route request packet to the previous node for intermediate node. Finally, even if intermediate node moves out of the routing region, the source can continuously transmit data packets to the destination through the new path.

We propose a new MPLS restoration scheme that uses network resources more efficiently and minimizes the backup path cost effectively. Contrary to other restoration strategies, the proposed restoration scheme starts the recovery action at the selected node of a working LSP. At LSP setup, the working and backup path cost is evaluated and the starting node of restoration is designated. By doing so, the restoration speed could be further increased and resource utilization could be maximized. We simulated the proposed scheme and compared with other restoration and protection schemes. The result shows that our scheme can provide fast restoration with acceptable delay and loss characteristics.
The distance of sensor nodes is an important factor in having influence on capability of networks in underwater acoustic sensor networks. Our proposed scheme is to establish an efficient distance to design a route of communication in underwater environment and it proposes a Level scheme that the areas divided by transmit/receive distance in network are given different levels. Our proposed scheme is pursued research to maintain a established route and maximize an energy efficiency. The established route will have fluid modification by an internal and external factors and it will construct more robust underwater sensor networks over our proposed multiple path configuration scheme.
