Routing Mechanism using Mobility Prediction of Node for QoS in Mobile Ad-hoc Network (모바일 애드-혹 네트워크에서 QoS를 위한 노드의 이동성 예측 라우팅 기법)

  • Mobile Ad-hoc Network consists of mobile nodes without immobile base station. In mobile ad-hoc network, network cutting has occurred frequently in node because of energy restriction and frequent transfer of node. Therefore, it requires research for certain techniques that react softly in topology alteration in order to improve reliability of transmission path. This paper proposes path selection techniques to consider mobility of node that respond when search path using AOMDV routing protocol. As applying proposed techniques, We can improve reliability and reduce re-searching number of times caused by path cutting.

Development of a Simulator for Radio Propagation Path Loss in Tunnel at 18GHz (터널환경에서 18GHz 대역신호의 전파경로손실 예측 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • In this paper, the radio propagation path loss prediction simulator in tunnel was developed. It used a image theory method for analysing precise radio propagation path. And it can predict radio propagation path loss in straight and curved tunnels. The simulator can plot realtime radio propagation paths using various parameters which was input by user. And it can simulate from changing transmitter and receiver positions. The predicted path loss of simulator was compared with the measurements in Chunhyun tunnel and confirmed the validity.

  • More affordable and available cutting-edge technologies (e.g., wireless vehicle communication) are regarded as a possible alternative to the fixed infrastructure-based traffic information system requiring the expensive infrastructure investments and mostly implemented in the uninterrupted freeway network with limited spatial system expansion. This paper develops an advanced decentralized traveler information System (ATIS) using vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication system whose performance (drivers' travel time savings) are enhanced by three complementary functions (autonomous automatic incident detection algorithm, reliable sample size function, and driver behavior model) and evaluates it in the typical $6{\times}6$ urban grid network with non-recurrent traffic state (traffic incident) with the varying key parameters (traffic flow, communication radio range, and penetration ratio), employing the off-the-shelf microscopic simulation model (VISSIM) under the ideal vehicle communication environment. Simulation outputs indicate that as the three key parameters are increased more participating vehicles are involved for traffic data propagation in the less communication groups at the faster data dissemination speed. Also, participating vehicles saved their travel time by dynamically updating the up-to-date traffic states and searching for the new route. Focusing on the travel time difference of (instant) re-routing vehicles, lower traffic flow cases saved more time than higher traffic flow ones. This is because a relatively small number of vehicles in 300vph case re-route during the most system-efficient time period (the early time of the traffic incident) but more vehicles in 514vph case re-route during less system-efficient time period, even after the incident is resolved. Also, normally re-routings on the network-entering links saved more travel time than any other places inside the network except the case where the direct effect of traffic incident triggers vehicle re-routings during the effective incident time period and the location and direction of the incident link determines the spatial distribution of re-routing vehicles.

  • Since the ad-hoc network allow nodes to communicate each other without infrastructure system and predefined configuration, it comes into the spotlight that is suitable to ubiquitous society. In ad-hoc network, route recovery mechanism is considered important. Normally route recovery is needed to solve the link failure problem because there is no route maintaining system like a router in ad-hoc networks. In this paper we propose BS-AODV(Bidirectional Searching-AODV) route recovery method. The proposed method is a local repair method that can be applied in all of the network area. Unlike a limited local repair method in AODV. the proposed method adopts the bidirectional searching method where the upstream/downstream nodes can send the route maintenance messages. Restricting the flooding of route request messages, the proposed scheme attempts to minimize the costs of local repair, the performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated through the simulations. In two scenarios which variate the node numbers and node speed, the comparison among the proposed scheme, AODV and AOMDV is shown in terms of the control traffic and data delivery ratio.

  • In this paper, it is covered in detail the process of generating structural alternatives with geometry change and its optimization by StrAuto. The main roof structure of the Exhibition Center is modelled parametrically and the optimal alt is derived by observing volume changes according to geometry change of main roof truss. Existing studies performed optimization process through sections and properties due to the limitations of shape change, but this study have meaning of performing the optimization with geometry changes which is the most critical skills of StrAuto. By the process of securing a sufficient margin by geometry changes and reducing volume with the optimization of sections, despite of a partial optimization of large space structure, it could be reduced by 11.7% of the total volume.

  • According to previous research, the reason why Design-Build(hereinafter "DB") outperforms Design-Bid-Build(hereinafter "DBB") in terms of cost is due to less change orders(hereinafter "COs"). However, if biddropping was low for DBB resulting into increasing COs, then it would be wrong to conclude that DB is superior due to less COs. Therefore, in order to confirm such misjudgment, the attempt to comprehensively analyze biddropping, COs and delivery method was made as previous methods had analyzed either the relationship between delivery method and COs, or biddropping and COs. This research uses path analysis, which simultaneously compares effect sizes on COs according to delivery method and biddropping based on the project type, and validated the mediator effect. The research proved that DB outperforms DBB due to less COs cannot be validated as biddropping caused a mediator effect by intervening between the delivery method and COs for specific project types. Therefore, the mechanism of delivery method acts on COs through biddropping was established. Also, the identity of biddropping was investigated in a different perspective from previous research. Based on this result, this research is expected to help determine a delivery method by considering the mediator effect of specific projects and evaluate performance.

A Pre-Resource Reservation Mechanism using NSIS protocol (NSIS 프로토콜을 이용한 사전자원예약 방안)

  • In the Internet Engineering Task Force(IETF), Next Step in Signaling(NSIS) working group, proposed a mechanism to discover the Crossover Node(CRN), when the route is changed by Mobile Node(MN) handover. The CRN is divergence or convergence node on old and new path for reserving resources. Trough the CRN discovery mechanism, it possible to reduce a signaling delay and avoid the redundant reservation on the common path between old and new path. However, the QoS(Quality of Service) can be guaranteed continuously while the MN is performing handover, it is needed to pre-reserve the resource on the new path before completion of the handover. When the nodes on the new path try to make a pre-resource reservation before the handover, it is difficult to pre-reserve the resource with the existing CRN discovery mechanism. Therefore, we proposed a Passive CRN(PCRN) discovery scheme and pre-resource reservation mechanism. The PCRN which means an initial common point between the current reserved and the new paths, where the handover can take place.

An Efficient Route Optimization Algorithm using Intermediate Agents in Mobile IP Networks (중간 에이전트를 이용한 Mobile IP 망에서의 효율적인 경로 최적화 알고리즘)

  • IETF's Mobile IP protocol allows Mobile Node(MN) to keep connection to Correspondent Node(CN) no matter what the MN changes its point of attachment to the Internet. However, the protocol incurs triangle routing problem, because all packets for the MN are routed through its Home Agent(HA). Route optimization mechanism is proposed by IETF in order to resolve triangle routing problem, but it requires that any node in the Internet should also implement route optimization mechanism. In this paper, we propose a new route optimization algorithm. With the algorithm, routers between HA and CN are considered as Intermediate Agent(IA), and packets transmitted by CN are not forwarded to HA but intercepted by IA and tunneled to MN directly.
