고정된 패턴을 사용하는 기존의 고속 블록기반 움직임 추정법에서는 국소 최소해로 고립될 가능성이 있을 뿐만 아니라, 여러 움직임이 공존하는 움직임 경계에서 정확한 움직임의 추정이 어렵다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 탐색점의 수를 줄이는 동시에 국소 최소해로의 고립을 피하기 위하여 탐색 후보영역을 적용한 다중 국소 탐색법(multiple local search method : MLSM)을 제안한다. 또한, 블록 내의 움직임 영역별 정합오차의 최소편차를 고려하는 새로운 정합함수를 제안함으로써 움직임 경계에서 움직임 벡터추정의 부정확성과 움직임 보상영상에서의 화질저하문제를 개선하고자 한다. 실험결과, 제안한 방법은 기존의 방법에 비해 움직임 경계에서의 추정에서 우수한 결과를 보였으며, PSNR에 대해서도 전역탐색법과 유사한 결과를 얻을 수 있었고, 움직임 보상결과, 움직임 경계부근에서의 향상된 화질을 얻을 수 있었다.

In this paper, adaptive matching method using the same features for rigid and deformable object images is proposed. Firstly, we determine whether the two images are matched or not using the geometric verification and generate the matching information. Decision boundary which separates deformable matching-pair from non-matching pair is obtained through statistical analysis of matching information. The experimental result shows that the proposed method lowers the computational complexity and increases the matching accuracy compared to the existing method.

스테레오 정합은 컴퓨터 비전 분야에서 활발하게 연구되고 있는 연구 주제로 서로 다른 위치에서 획득된 두 영상을 정합하여 거리 정보를 얻는 방법이다. 이 방법은 초음파나 레이저를 광원으로 거리를 측정하는 것보다 실제 응용 환경의 제약을 적게 받아 다양한 분야에서 응용되고 있다. 하지만, 텍스쳐가 반복되거나 텍스쳐가 없는 영역 혹은 객체의 경계 부근에서 정확한 깊이 정보를 획득하지 못한다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문은 일반적 총 변이와 가이드 깊이맵을 사용하여 정합 비용을 정제 방법을 사용하여 정확한 깊이 정보 획득 방법을 제안한다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안한 방법이 기존의 색상 영상의 텍스쳐 복사 문제를 해결하였으며, 기존의 방법에 비해 bad pixel rates 측면에서 월등한 성능을 보이는 것을 확인하였다.

본 논문에서는 변이지도의 정확도 향상을 위하여, 비용 함수를 이용한 교차 일치성 검사 기법을 제안하고, 다양한 조건의 실험을 통하여 제안한 알고리듬이 효율적임을 보였다. 좌우 변이정보를 이용하는 교차 일치성 검사로 오정합을 검출하는 방법을 시도해왔다. 하지만 이러한 방법은 물체의 경계에서 발생하는 오정합을 찾기가 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 최종 변이의 신뢰도 향상을 위해 교차 일치성 검사의 정확도를 높이는 방법을 제안하였다. 일반적으로 영역 기반 스테레오정합 방법은 물체의 경계에서 정확도 높지 못하다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 정합창의 크기를 늘리거나 특징 점을 이용한 적응적 가변 정합창을 적용하는 방법을 시도하였다. 하지만, 여전히 기존 교차 일치성 검사를 통한 오정합 검출은 부정확하다. 이러한 영역의 비용 함수 값들을 비교한 결과 첫 번째와 두 번째 값의 차이가 적거나 크게 나타난다. 제안한 방법은 기존 방법에 비해 오정합 검출 능력을 향상 시킨다. 제안한 방법의 결과를 확인하기 위해 스테레오 비전에서 많이 사용되는 영상을 적용하고 분석하였다. 또한, 기존 교차 일치성 검사 방법과 제안한 방법의 객관적으로 비교하기 위해 전체 영역에 대한 오차율 (error ratio)과 교차 일치성 검사로 유효하다고 판단된 변이 값 중 실제 변이 값과 일치하지 않은 변이값의 오차율을 비교하였다. 실험 결과 기존 방법에 비해 제안한 방법이 1~5%정도 낮은 오차율을 보였다

본 논문의 수치해법은 경계치문제를 풀기 위하여 코시이론(Cauchy's theorem)을 사용하였다. 경계치문제는 완전한 물체표면조건과 자유표면조건을 만족시키는 초기치문제로 귀결된다. 현 수치해법에서 무한영역은 수치계산 영역인 비선형 영역과 선형 자유표면조건을 만족하는 선형영역으로 나누어진다. 선형영역의 해는 과도 그린(Green)함수를 사용하여 정합조건을 부과함으로써, 수치계산은 비선형 영역에서만 수행된다. 본 논문에서 저자는 수치계산 영역에서 코시이론을 사용하여 적분방정식을 도출하였고, 무한영역의 해는 정합면에서 과도 그린함수를 사용하여 표현하였다. 본 수치계산에서 자유표면에 요소 재분배법을 적용함으로써 쇄파현상에 대해서도 안정적인 수치해석을 할 수 있었다. 본 논문에서 개발된 수치방법을 적용한 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째는 자유표면에서 실린더가 강제동요하는 경우에 자유표면형상과 힘을 계산하여 이전의 실험치 및 계산치와 비교하였다. 두번째로는 실린더가 자유수면하에서 일정한 속도로 항주하는 경우에는 조파저항과 양력을 계산하여 고차 스펙트럴법과 비교하였다.

In this paper, we evaluate and analyze representative estimation methods for the sparse channel. In order to evaluate error performance of matching pursuit(MP) and minimum mean square error(MMSE) algorithm, lower bound of MMSE is determined by Cramer-Rao bound and compared with upper bound of MP. Based on analysis of those bounds, mean square error of MP which is effective in the estimation of sparse channel can be larger than that of MMSE according to the number of estimated tap and signal-to-noise ratio. Simulation results show that the performances of both algorithm are reversed on the sparse channel with Rayleigh fading according to signal-to-noise ratio.

With increase in digitalmedia data, various video indexing and video sequence matching algorithms have been proposed to efficiently manage and utilize digital media. In this paper, we propose a robust video indexing algorithm to detect scene changes for video sequences with abrupt luminance variations and an efficient video sequence matching algorithm for video sequence query. To improve the accuracy and to reduce the computational complexity for video indexing with abrupt luminance variations, the proposed algorithm utilizes edge features as well as color features, which yields a remarkably better performance than conventional algorithms. In the proposed algorithm first we extract the candidate shot boundaries using color histograms and then determine using edge matching and luminance compensation if they are shot boundaries or luminance changes. If the scene contains trivial brighness variations, the edge matching and luminance compensation are performed only for shot boundaries. In experimental results, the proposed method gives remarkably a high performance and efficiency than the conventional methods with the similar computational complexity.

This paper proposes new features for recognizing telltale bulb in a cluster. A typical feature employed in model-based pattern recognition is polygonal approximation points of object. But recognition using these dominant points has many mismatching counts in small model such as telltale bulb. To reduce mismatching counts, proposed features are the circle distribution of object pixel and the ratio of distance from center to boundary in object. This Paper also proposes new decision function using three features. In simulation result, we make a comparison mismatching counts between recognition using dominant points and the new recognition algorithm using three features.

이종 매질에서 초음파전달은 각 매질의 음향임피던스에 영향을 받는다. 초음파진동자로 사용되는 압전소자와 매질로 가장 많이 사용되는 물은 음향임피던스 차이가 크므로 경계면에서 투과율이 감소한다. 이를 개선하기 위해 압전소자와 물 사이에 음향정합층을 삽입하여 사용한다. 정합층은 1 layer로 사용되는 경우도 있지만, 넓은 대역폭을 요구하는 분야에서는 2 layer가 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 1 layer 정합층를 갖는 초음파 트랜스듀서에 대해 시간영역에서 해석하는 기법을 분석하였으며, 이를 근거로 매질 사이의 물리적 특성을 고려하여 2 layer 정합층을 갖는 초음파트랜스듀서를 해석하였다. 해석결과 2 layer 정합층일 경우 1 layer에 비해 공진주파수에서의 이득은 감소하였으나 대역폭이 증가됨을 알 수 있었다.

In this paper, an effective method of stereo image reconstruction through the regularized adaptive disparity estimation is proposed. Althougth the conventional adaptive disparity estimation method can sharply improve the PSNR of a reconstructed stereo image, but some problems of overlapping between the matching windows and disallocation of the matching windows can be occurred, because the matching window size changes adaptively in accordance with the magnitude of feature values. Accordingly, in thia paper, a new regularized adaptive disparity estimation technique is proposed. That is, by regularizing the estimated disparity vector with the neughboring disparity vectors, problems of the conventional adaptive disparity estimated scheme might be solved, and also the predicted stereo image can be more effectively reconstructed. From some experiments using the CCETT'S stereo image pairs of 'Man' and 'Claude', it is analyzed that the proposed disparity estimation scheme can improve PSNRs of the reconstructed images to 10.89dB, 6.13dB for 'Man' and 1.41dB, 0.81dB for 'Claude' by comparing with those of the conventional pixel-based and adaptive estimation method, respectively.
