The Development of Consumer Education Programs for Premarital Couples through Analyses on Consumption Expenditure and Consumption Culture of Marriage (결혼의 소비지출과 소비문화 고찰을 통한 결혼준비소비자교육프로그램 구성)

  • The purposes of this study are to explore the consumption expenditure and consumption-cultural meaning in the process of marriage and to provide consumer education programs for premarital couples. For the purpose, this study uses a qualitative analysis including an in-depth interview and a participant observation. Major findings are as follows: Consumers preparing for their marriage experienced quite a different consumption context, which should be said an exceptional practice from the economic point of view. As the agency businesses for marriage becomes one of the fast growing industries, the marriage of Korea is now under the rule of popular consumption culture. Thus, the exceptional consumption abuse during a marriage process brings about the imbalance in consumers' daily life after wedding ceremony. In this point of view, we can see the importance of consumer education programs for the marriage process. The latter half of this study is devoted to propose the desirable model of the consumer education program for premarital couples.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the expenditure determinants of the leisure goods consumption market. In order to achieve the research purpose, 6597 samples of household trend survey data were used. Tobit model was applied to estimate expenditure determinants. As a result of analysis, expenditure determinants for sporting goods were influenced by marital status, education level, age, number of households, housing ownership and income level. The variables influencing spending on leisure items such as mountain climbing, fishing and hunting items were influenced by gender, marital status, education level, age, number of households, housing ownership and income level. The analysis results can be used as policy data for the establishment of leisure culture. The National Statistical Office's household trend survey is a yearly survey through a nationwide survey, but despite the fact that it is reliable data, it is not possible to apply various variables such as psychological characteristics to estimate consumer expenditure determinants more concretely.   • 본 연구는 환경친화적 음식문화를 개발하고 보급하기 위한 프로그램을 개발하는데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고, 음식물 쓰레기 감소를 통한 환경정책과 프로그램을 개발하는데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 이루어졌다. 울산광역시에 거주하고 있는 주부와 조리사를 대상으로 하여 식단작성부터 식품구매, 조리 음식먹기 및 남은 음식물 처분에 이르기까지 음식소비의 전과정에서 음식물쓰레기를 감소시키기 위한 구체적 실천 전략인 환경 친화적 음식소비행동을 비교해 보았다. 이는 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 환경친화적 식품소비행동을 총체적으로 보면 조리사는 주부에 비하여 더 환경친화적으로 식품을 소비하고 있었다. 조리사는 먹는 사람의 의견을 고려하고, 제철 식품위주로 식단을 작성하고, 계획적으로 식품을 구매하고, 사온 식품을 바로 손질하고, 저울과 계량컵을 사용하여 정확한 양의 음식을 만들고, 가족 행상 음식을 뷔폐식으로 준비하고, 남은 음식을 필요한 사람에게 즉 시 준다는 면에서는 더 환경친화적이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 세부문항별로 볼 때 주부는 식품포장 단위가 큰 경우 이웃과 공동구매하고, 남은 음식은 1회 정도 먹을 분량씩 포장하면 냉동보관하고, 음식재료가 싸더라도 많이 사지 않는다는 면에서 조리사에 비하여 더 환경친화적이라고 할 수 있다. 먹는 사람의 수 보다 넉넉하게 식품 구입, 가능한 적은 포장단위로 구입, 채소를 다듬을 때 버리는 양이 많음, 각종 행상 음식을 먹고 남을 정도로 넉넉하게 준비, 야채 자투리, 배추 우거지, 파뿌리, 멸치머리, 북어머리, 닭뼈 등은 국물을 만드는데 이용, 국이나 찌개를 함께 준비, 국이나 찌재의 국물의 양은 넉넉하게 주문, 여러 가지의 반찬 준비, 덜어 먹는 상차림 준비, 외식할 때 남을 정도로 넉넉하게 주문, 외식할 때 남은 음식 싸옴, 냉장고에 보관하다 버리는 음식 및 재료가 많음, 음식은 부족하지않고 남을 정도 준비등은 조리사와 주부간에 의미 있는 차이가 보이지 않았다. 환경친화적 음식소비행동은 성별, 결혼여부 및 교육수준에 따라서는 의미 있는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 남자와 미혼 은 모두 조리사이므로 주부를 제외한 조리사만을 선택하여 성별과 결혼여부에 따라 환경친화적 음식소비 행동의 차이를 알아보기 위한 결과 역시 차이를 보이지 않았다. 환경친화적 음식소비행동은 연령, 월평균소득 및 엥겔계수와 의미 있는 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 조리사와 주부는 음식을 소비하는 전 과정에서 가장 많이 관여하고 있는 집단이다. 그런데 조리사와주부 모두 전반적으로 환경친화적 음식소비행동의 수준이 높지 않음으로 합리적인 식생활문화를 생활화 할 수 있도록 교육과 홍보가 필요하다고 본다. 주부의 경우 유치원이나 어린이집, 초중고둥학교에서 하는 부모교육과 반상회의 홍보자료에 반상회의 홍보자료에 반드시환경친화적 음식소비행동에 관한 교육이 포함되어야 한다. 조리사의 경우 정기교육과정에 환경친화적 음식소비행동에 관한 홍보를 함께 함으로써 외식이나 단체급식에서 발행하는 음식물 쓰레기의 양을 줄 일 수 있을 것이다.

Clothing adaptation and clothing consumption behavior according to acculturation in married Chinese immigrant women (중국 결혼 이민 여성의 문화적응에 따른 의생활 적응과 의복소비행동)

  • This study seeks to explore the relationship between clothing adaptation and acculturation for married Chinese immigrant women. In addition, it aims to analyze the differences in their clothing consumption behaviors according to acculturation level. To achieve these purposes, a quantitative research study was conducted on 291 wives of Korean-Chinese multicultural families in Seoul and Gyeonggi. The data was analyzed using factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, and the Duncun test. The findings were as follows. First, the women were divided into three groups based on their level of acculturation, which was defined as 'assimilated', 'marginalized' and 'segregated'. Second, the relationship between their acculturation level and their clothing adaptation was identified. The marginalized group had the lowest level of clothing adaptation. Third, the groups' differences in clothing selection criteria were analyzed. The segregated group considered the practical aspects (price, color, quality) of clothing to be more important than the other groups. The marginalized group scored the lowest in valuing the aesthetic factors (design, style, trendiness) of clothing. Finally, conformity of clothing consumption varied significantly based on acculturation level. The assimilated and marginalized groups showed higher levels conformity than did the segregated group. Clothing purchase location also varied significantly between the three groups. The assimilated and marginalized groups preferred online shopping, but members of the segregated group preferred to carry out their shopping off-line. This study showed that clothing adaptation and clothing consumption behaviors play key roles in understanding the acculturation of multicultural families.

  • As the concept of "marriage age" gradually disappears, the consumption class of the wedding market includes not only X and Y generations but also Z generations, and each generation has its own characteristics as it is already known, and there are differences in the consumption. So this research analyzed age-related behavior differences in both awareness of and preparation for marriage. Three hundred sixteen unmarried Korean males and females comprised the study population and data was collected from March 5, 2019, to April 3, 2019. The SPSS Statistics 23.0 Package was used for analysis, specifically the functions of frequency, cross tabulation, factor analysis, chi-squared test, Cronbach's alpha, Duncans's new multiple range test (MRT), and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Marriage motivation was analyzed by three factors, and there were significant differences in two types. Marital involvement was analyzed by two factors, and both factors showed significant age-related differences. Concerns relating to marriage preparation were analyzed by four factors, and two varied according to respondent age. Regarding marriage preparation behaviors, the analysis revealed that the marriage preparation method appreciably differed between age groups. Our analysis also found significant age-related differences in "the main media usually used to acquire information" and "the paths preferred for acquiring information in preparing for marriage". We expect that study results will be useful for identifying new research directions, understanding the dimensions of the wedding industry, and developing related marketing strategies.

Interest on Beauty of Beauty Salon Customers' and Beauty Shop Consumption Sentiment according to COVID-19 (미용실 고객의 뷰티에 대한 관심도 및 코로나 19에 따른 뷰티샵 소비심리)

  • Background: There was a need to investigate the interest in beauty and consumption sentiment in beauty shops on COVID-19 among beauty customers in their 20s and older in Daejeon Metropolitan City. Purpose: To investigate the degree of interest in beauty and consumption sentiment of beauty shops according to COVID-19 targeting beauty customers. Methods: A survey was conducted targeting beauty customers in their 20s or older in Daejeon. A total of 263 questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS 27.0 program. Results: Beauty customers' interest in beauty was above average in hair style, makeup, skin care and body shape management, but nail care was below average. In addition, it was found that there were some statistically significant differences or no difference in beauty shop consumer sentiment due to COVID-19 according to gender, marital status, age, and occupation. It was found that there was a positive (+) correlation between interest in beauty and consumption sentiment of beauty shops due to COVID-19. Conclusion: The beauty interest in beauty of the customers in their 20s or older in Daejeon Metropolitan City and the consumption sentiment of beauty shops on COVID-19 outbreak indicated some statistically significant differences depending on gender, marital status, age, and occupation, or seems no difference. Therefore, it is evaluated that the results will serve as basic data for research in this field.

The Effect of Consumer Culture and Awareness on Wedding Ceremony between Parents and Children on the Preference of a Simple Wedding (자녀와 부모의 소비문화와 결혼식인식이 작은 결혼식 선호도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigates the effect of consumer culture and awareness of wedding ceremonies between parents and children as well as preference for a simple wedding in order to develop a simple wedding concept. The data for statistical analysis came from 375 of children 216 and parents 159. Data was analyzed with t -test, analysis of variance, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach's $\alpha$ and regression analysis by SPSS ver. 18.0. The results were summarized as follows. First, children had a higher symbolic consumption than parents and parents had a higher functional consumption than children. Second, children prefer a discriminate and characteristic small wedding, while parents prefer an economical, meaningful and nonconforming simple wedding. The variables that effect parents simple wedding preferences were consumer culture, awareness of wedding ceremony, gender, and education; those of children were, consumer culture, awareness on wedding ceremony, gender, and age. Children had a functional and economical consumption focused on meaningfulness and rationale of the wedding, they prefer an economical meaningful small wedding. Children had functional consumption that prefers a discriminate characteristic small wedding and a nonconforming small wedding compared to men. Parents did not have symbolic consumption and focused on the meaningfulness and rationale of the wedding, they prefer an economical meaningful small wedding. Parents focused on the meaningfulness and rationale of the wedding; in addition women prefer a discriminate characteristic small wedding compared to men. Parents had functional consumption and focused on the meaningfulness and rationale of the wedding with a preference for a nonconforming small wedding.

  • Recently people are trying to lead their life with meaning and value, and people are oriented to value consumption as the values they pursue can be realized through consumption. Consumer demand on value consumption had an effect on Korean wedding culture and 'value consumption wedding culture' which emphasizes the value of marriage, is on the rise as a new wedding custom. Accordingly, Korean wedding market is more segmented and diversified for individual customization to create value. Especially, wedding dress evidently reflects the tendency of value consumption as it gives special meaning for brides. As a result, suggestion and development of detailed design elements of wedding dress to meet the various needs of customers are needed. Therefore, this study has the purpose of investigating the required value of wedding dress aligned with the characteristics of value consumption wedding culture through in-depth interviews and how the intrinsic value of consumers is shown up to a particular design element through investigating on the relationships between design elements. In addition, the study provides a direction for specialized and high-valued wedding dress design development by suggesting wedding dress design aligned with the new trend based on the analysis of detailed design elements that reflects the value.

A Study on the Socio-Cultural Patterns of Korean-Chinese New Words (한·중 인물지칭 신어의 사회·문화적 양상에 대한 고찰 -2017년~2018년 인기 신어를 중심으로-)

  • The new word for person designation is frequently used and spread in daily life. It reflects the new lifestyle or cultural phenomenon of the society. This study compared and analyzed the social and cultural phenomena based on the new words for person designation that emerged in Korea and China in 2017 and 2018. This study divided the words into three areas: personal life, family life, and work life and adopted qualitative analysis and control analysis. In Korea, various lifestyles pursuing happiness have emerged, and lots of consumers have sought reasonable and economical consumption. On the other hand, intemperate shopping has become an issue in China. Many korean single-person households were unmarried. Many chinese single-person households have been divorced. In China, Divorce due to urbanizationn increased rapidly. In Korea, many couples divorced after their children's independence. Young Koreans often relied on their parents even after marriage. Korean elders tended to be poor and marginalized. There was an early study abroad craze in China. Young people in Korea and China suffered from unemployment. After employment, they prepared to change jobs or retire. In future studies, studying Korean class plans on the new words for person designation, after reinforcing the latest word data, will help Chinese learners to understand Korean society and culture.

여성의 피부건강 관리의 인식과 실천행위 연구

  • 오늘날 경제 성장의 발전은 현대인의 삶의 여유를 가져오게 되었으며, 그 중 뷰티산업의 발전은 국가 주력의 산업으로 발전하게 되었다. 이에 뷰티산업의 구성원인 여성의 사회진출의 기회가 증가 되었고, 이로 인해 여성들은 사회 적응을 위한 하나의 방법으로 외모적인 경쟁력을 가져야 했다. 외모에 대한 관심은 물론 매스미디어의 증가, 사회적, 문화적 분위기, 미용기술의 발달 등을 들 수 있다. 외모의 사전적의미로는 겉으로 나타나는 모습으로 외모관리를 위한 영역으로 피부 관리를 꼽을 수 있다. 피부 관리는 미에 관한 현대 여성의 관심의 증가로, 시간과 비용을 투자하여 외적으로 보여주는 관리로서 외모관리의 대표적 부분으로 중요시 되어오고 있다. 피부의 건강관리는 인식도 중요하고 실천도 중요하다. 그러나 인식과 실천의 관계를 구체적으로 연구한 논문은 부족한 실정이다. 특히 성인여성들을 대상으로 건강관리 인식과 실천을 연구하여 피부건강 관리에 대한 올바른 방안을 제시해준 논문이 필요하다고 생각하여 본 연구자는 이 논문을 설계하게 되었다. 본 연구의 조사대상은 서울지역에 거주하는 20세 이상 60세 미만의 신 성인여성을 대상으로 2017년 5월 02일부터 7월 30일까지 2달 동안 설문조사를 실시하였다. 모집단은 서울지역에 사는 성인 여성을 대상으로 총 400부의 설문지를 배포하였다. 그 중 응답이 불량한 사람 49부를 제외되고 351부가 최종 자료로 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사대상자의 인구통계학적 특성을 알아본 결과, 연령은 '21-30세'가 85.2%로 가장 많았고, 결혼 상태는 '미혼'이 89.5%, 직업은 '학생' 67.0%, 최종학력은 '대학교 재학/졸업'이 68.1%, '가계의 월 소득은 '200만원 미만'이 71.8%로 가장 많이 소비되는 것으로 나타났다. 이상은 이혜원 (2009)의 논문과 같이 연령이 낮을수록 피부인식이 높아지며, 이들은 잠정고객으로서 피부 건강에 대한 비용을 높게 지불한다는 결과와 유사하다. 피부 관리실의 특성은 다음과 같다. 피부유형은 '복합성'이 47.6%, 적정 피부 관리 횟수는 '주 2회'가 32.5%, 적정 1회 피부 관리 비용으로는 '5만 원 이하'가 가장 많았으며, 피부 관리의 목적으로는 '여드름관리'가 32.8%, 피부 관리에서 중요하게 인식하는 부분으로는 '생활습관'이 79.8%로 대부분이었고, 피부의 유해요인으로는 '스트레스' 42.7%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 이상은 유유정(2013), 장은영(2013)와 같이 생활습관과 스트레스가 피부 관리에 영향을 준다는 결과와 유사하다.
