A Measure of Academic Use of University Journals: Focussing on the Comparison between Discilpines and Each Journal in Lingusitics (대학논문집의 학술적 활용성 조사:계열간비교 및 언어학주제의 개별논문집을 중심으로)

  • At present we have access to a plethora of university journals. The purpose of this study is to estimate the use of these university Journals in research fields by focussing on the level of usage in each discipline in addition to the level of usage of each university journal in linguistics. The results indicate the level of academic use of each Journal in lingustics as well as of usage levels between disciplines. From these results, the follow-up measure is requested for differentiation and specialization of university journals.

Quality Characteristics and Optimization of Rice Cookies with Nuts by Response Surface Methodology (반응 표면 분석을 이용한 견과류 첨가 쌀 쿠키의 품질 특성 및 최적화)

  • The purpose of this study was the optimization of mixing ratio of rice flour, potato starch and soybean flour baking domestic rice cookies with nuts. Response surface methodology, with a central composite design comprising 5 levels and 3 variables, was used to identify the optimal combination of rice flour ($X_1$), potato starch ($X_2$) and soybean flour ($X_3$). The physical properties of 16 samples were analyzed, including color L (p<0.001), color a, color b (p<0.05), spreadability (p<0.05) and hardness (p<0.05). In sensory evaluations, color (p<0.05), flavor, taste (p<0.05), crunch (p<0.05) and overall quality (p<0.05) were differed significantly among the samples. The optimal compositional ratios were 78.90 g rice flour, 18.96 g potato starch, and 15.90 g the soybean flour in 420 g total weight.

  • A 3-year-old Pit bull terrier dog had left hindlimb lameness for 3-weeks. On plain radiographs, geographic osteolysis with well-defined edges and marginal sclerosis was identified in medial aspect of left proximal tibialmetaphysis. Surgical debridement and curettage was performed. Coagulase negative Staphylococcus spp. grew on a culture specimen obtained during surgery, and Brodie's abscess was diagnosed.

  • Adaptive finite element analysis, in which its solution error meets with the user defined allowable error, is recently used to improve the reliability of finite element analysis results. This adaptive analysis is composed of two procedures; one is the error estimation of an analysis result and the other is the reconstruction of finite elements. In the (p-method, an element size is controlled by relocating of nodal positions (r-method) and the order of an element shape function is determined by the hierarchical polynomial (p-method) corresponding to the clement solution error by the enhanced SPR. In order to show the effectiveness and the accuracy of the suggested rp-method, various numerical examples were analyzed and these analysis results were examined by comparing with those obtained by the existed methods.

  • Populations of the common squid, Todarodes pacifirus in the Korean waters were analyzed using the samples taken monthly from February, 1991 to July, 1992. Summer, Autumn and Winter cohorts were arbitrarily established based on frequency distributions of mantle lengths and maturation stages. As cohorts were seperated in mantle length distributions on the basis of accumulated information of size and maturation of T. pacificus, cohorts seperated by the present method were mostly in accord with those by Tanaka's method. But they were not consistent with those by Bhattacharya's and Cassie's methods.

  • 전력거래소(KPX)는 전국에 산재된 발 변전소로부터 2초 혹은 4초 주기로 계통운영에 필요한 아날로그, 디지털 데이터를 실시간으로 취득하고 있다. 이렇게 취득한 데이터는 EMS 전력계통 감시 및 제어를 위한 각종 화면, 자동발전제어/경제급전(AGC/ED), 상태추정(SE), 상정고장해석(CA)등 실시간 계통운영과 조류계산(PF), 고장계산(SCT), STNET(PF, CA), 상정고장해석 등 검토모드로 급전소 휴전업무 검토에 활용되고 있다. 또한 EMS에서 취득한 실시간 데이터를 MOS(시장 운영시스템)로 보내어 상태추정을 추행하고 이 값을 기반으로 발전기별 경제적인 출력 값인 FMD(5분 급전지시)를 EMS로 보내어 EMS의 주요기능인 AGC(자동발전제어)로 경제적이고 안정된 출력 조정을 하고 있다. 이러한 이유로 EMS 및 MOS의 상태추정 견과의 정확도와 실행 안정성은 매우 중요하다고 하겠다. 본고에서는 EMS 계통해석기능 검증 결과와 향후 데이터 정확도 개선은 위한 과정의 일환으로 EMS의 상태추정과 MOS의 상태추정의 상호비교 결과를 소개하고자 한다.

Analysis of Containment Capability of Oil Fence in Currents and Waves (조류와 파랑중에서의 유벽의 보유성능 해석)

  • This paper summarizes the results of the investigations performed by the authors for a number of years on the performance of oil fences in currents and waves. The leakage inception velocity of currents, the wave-exciting motion of fences and the deformation of the fence skirt due to currents are investigated. The results show that improvement of the fence performance is necessary in order to utilize the oil fences as an effective containing device for spilt oils in ocean environments. As an approach toward improving the fence effectiveness, tandem fences in currents are investigated. It was found that an appropriate deployment of tandem fences of identical configuration could significantly improve the oil containment capability.

  • Nanocomposites prepared by PP(Polypropylene) based compatibilizers modified with GMA(Glycidyl methacrylate) and HEMA(Hydroxyethyl methacrylate) were used to investigate the clay dispersion and mechanical properties of them. XRD patterns showed the improvement of dispersion through clay intercalation according to the compatibilizers and comonomer. GMA modified polypropylene gave the best mechanical properties of the nanocomposite with respect to the balance of Flexural modulus (FM) and Notched izod impact strength(IS). Compatibilizers with comonoer commonly have higher grafting yield and lower melt flow rate than those of comonomer free. And they enhanced the clay dispersion and mechanical properties of nanocomposites. Optimum ratio of monomer to comonomer for nanocomposites having better mechanical properties is about 1 to 1 ratio.

  • This study presents an integrated data mining model for the credit evaluation of the customers of a capital company. Based on customer information and financing processes in capital market, we derived individual models from multi-layered perceptrons(MLP), multivariate discrimination analysis(MDA), and decision tree. Further, the results from the existing models were compared with the results from the integrated model using genetic algorithm. The integrated model presented by this study turned out to be superior to the existing models. This study contributes not only to verifying the existing individual models but also to overcoming the limitations of the existing approaches.

  • In this paper, we propose a scheme to implement intelligent game characters based on neural networks. Neural networks that implement in-telligent game character receive the action of an opponent character and the distance between them, decide intelligent character's action, and output the decision. The neural networks are trained by reinforcement learning using the scores acquired by the actions of two characters as reinforcement values. To show the usefulness of the proposed scheme, a simple fighting action game is implemented and various experiments are performed. Experimental results show that proposed intelligent characters can learn the rule of the game. The proposed scheme can be ap-plied to massively multiple online games as well as fighting action games.
