A Study on the Use of Grid-based Spatial Information for Response to Typhoons (태풍대응을 위한 격자 기반 공간정보 활용방안 연구)

  • Purpose: To reduce the damage caused by continuously occurring typhoons, we proposed a standardized grid so that it could be actively utilized in the prevention and preparation stage of typhoon response. We established grid-based convergence information on the typhoon risk area so that we showed the effectiveness of information used in disaster response. Method: To generate convergent information on typhoon hazard areas that can be useful in responding to typhoon situation, we used various types of data such as vector and raster to establish typhoon hazard area small grid-based information. A standardized grid model was applied for compatibility with already produced information and for compatibility of grid information generated by each local government. Result: By applying the grid system of National branch license plates, a grid of typhoon risk areas in Seoul was constructed that can be usefully used when responding to typhoon situations. The grid system of National branch license plates defines the grid size of a multi-dimensional hierarchical structure. And a grid of typhoon risk areas in Seoul was constructed using grids of 100m and 1,000m. Conclusion: Using real-time 5km resolution grid based weather information provided by Korea Meteorological Administration, in the future, it is possible to derive near-future typhoon hazard areas according to typhoon travel route prediction. In addition, the national branch number grid system can be expanded to global grid systems for global response to various disasters.

  • 일반적으로 가뭄을 해석하기 위하여 가뭄심도, 빈도, 피해면적 및 기간의 영향 등을 고려한 가뭄지수를 이용하며, 이러한 가뭄지수는 주로 지점자료 기반 지상관측자료를 활용하여 산정한다. 하지만 지점자료 특성상 미계측 지역에 대한 정확한 데이터 취득이 어렵기 때문에 미계측 지역에 대한 가뭄 분석의 한계가 발생한다. 다양한 계측기반의 지상센서들이 확충되면서 통계학적 기법기반 공간분포 개선방안을 제시하고 있지만, 정확한 가뭄평가 자료가 추가 및 개선되는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 원격탐사기술을 활용하여 지점자료의 한계를 극복한 격자기반의 공간정보를 표출함으로써 새로운 가뭄모니터링 방안을 제시하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 지상관측자료로 가뭄을 판단하기 어려운 미계측 지역에 대한 가뭄 판단 및 예측 정확도 향상을 위하여 원격탐사기술을 활용한 공간정보 빅데이터를 구축하고자 한다. 미국 국립가뭄경감센터에서 제시한 식생가뭄반응지수 (VegDRI, Vegetation Drought Response Index)는 식생지수, 기상학적 가뭄지수, 지역적 특성을 반영한 생물물리학적 정보를 통합한 하이브리드 가뭄지수로 가뭄과 관련된 공간정보를 활용하여 가뭄을 판단하는 지표이다. VegDRI 산정을 위하여 ERA5의 격자기반 강수자료, MODIS 센서 기반 식생지수 등 격자기반의 공간정보를 수집하였으며, 전처리 모듈을 구축하였다. 또한, 기존 기상학적 가뭄지수인 표준강수지수 (SPI, Standardized Precipitation Index)와 비교를 통해 VegDRI의 국내 적용성을 평가하였으며, 국내 가뭄사례에 적용하여 적절한 가뭄 판단지표로써 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • Although a numbed of variants of 2D HMM have been proposed in the literature, they are, in a word, too simple to model the variabilities of images for diverse classes of objects; they do not realize the modeling capability of the 1D HMM in 2D. Thus the author thinks they are poor substitutes for the HMM in 2D. The new model proposed in this paper is a hidden Markov lattice or, we can dare say, a 2D HMM with the causality of top-down and left-right direction. Then with the addition of a lattice constraint, the two algorithms for the evaluation of a model and the maximum likelihood estimation of model parameters are developed in the theoretical perspective. It is a more natural extension of the 1D HMM. The proposed method will provide a useful way of modeling highly variable patterns such as offline cursive characters.

  • In the present study a mesh generation program has been developed by using DXF file. The program consists of DXF file reading and mapping algorithm, which projects the 2-D mesh point onto the triangular surface constructed by nearest three points. The present program has been tested for mesh generations for the road tunnel ventilation analysis and analysis of lava movement in mountain area.

  • In this paper a new cell sizing method is proposed. The new method calculates cell size at a point using given size control elements directly without the aid of background grid as other cell sizing algorithms do. The calculation method and related definitions are described in detail, and typical cell sizing results are given.

  • Modern society is the age of a high state of information and demands more effective land information. Moreover, because the use of land in Korea is intensive, Korea requires more synthetic and systematic geographical information for which the digitizing of terrain is prerequisite. This study aims at development of the data structure which is suitable to the digitizing of terrain for Geographical Information System(GIS). Regular grid has been used generally in Digital Terrain Model(DTM), for it is easy to manipulate. But regular cannot reflect well the terrain surface features. In the meantime, Triangulated Irregular Network(TIN) has complex data structure, but it can describe well terrain surface features and is useful in various applications. In this paper the method which constructs effective DTM by improving TIN has been researched.

Ionosphere Modeling and Estimation Using Regional GPS Data (지역적인 GPS 관측 데이터를 이용한 이온층 모델링 및 추정)

  • We present a GPS-derived regional ionosphere model, which estimates Total Electron Content (TEC) in a rectangular grid on the spherical shell over Korea. After dividing longitude and latitude over Korea with 1$^{\circ}$$\times$1$^{\circ}$ spatial resolution, the TEC at the vertex of the grid was estimated by the Kalman filter. The GPS data received from nine nationwide GPS stations, operated by Korea Astronomy Observatory (KAO), were used for this study. To reduce inherent noises, the pseudorange data were phase-leveled by a linear combination of pseudoranges and carrier phases. The solar-geomagnetic reference frame, which is less variable to the ionosphere movement due to the Sun and the geomagnetic field than an Earth-fixed frame, was used. During a quiet time of solar activity, the KAO's regional ionosphere map indicated 30-45 Total Electron Content Unit at the peak of the diurnal variation. In comparison with the Global ionosphere Map of the Center for Orbit Determination in Europe, RMS differences were at the level of 4-5 TECU for five days.

  • 3D point cloud is widely used in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Medical, Computer Graphics, and many other fields. Due to the improvement of 3D laser scanner, a massive 3D point cloud whose gigantic file size is bigger than computer's memory requires efficient preprocessing and visualization. We suggest a data structure to solve the problem; a 3D point cloud is gradually subdivided by arbitrary-sized cube grids structure and corresponding point cloud subsets generated by the center of each grid cell are achieved while preprocessing. A massive 3D point cloud file is tested through two algorithms: QSplat and ours. Our algorithm, grid-based, showed slower speed in preprocessing but performed faster rendering speed comparing to QSplat. Also our algorithm is further designed to editing or segmentation using the original coordinates of 3D point cloud.

On Multipliers of Lattice Implication Algebras for Hierarchical Convergence Models (계층적 융합모델을 위한 격자함의 대수의 멀티플라이어)

  • Role-based access or attribute-based access control in cloud environment or big data environment need requires a suitable mathematical structure to represent a hierarchical model. This paper define the notion of multipliers and simple multipliers of lattice implication algebras that can implement a hierarchical model of role-based or attribute-based access control, and prove every multiplier is simple multiplier. Also we research the relationship between multipliers and homomorphisms of a lattice implication algebra L, and prove that the lattice [0, u] is isomorphic to a lattice $[u^{\prime},1]$ for each $u{\in}L$ and that L is isomorphic to $[u,1]{\times}[u^{\prime},1]$ as lattice implication algebras for each $u{\in}L$ satisfying $u{\vee}u^{\prime}=1$.
