This study reviewed the important preceding studies of prevention and treatment of the crimes and therapies on the characteristics of mental illness, trying to investigate and identify more effective ways to prevent, decrease the crimes of the mentally ill and treat them. The main results were as follows. First, relationships between mental illness and crimes have been inconsistently reported, to investigate environmental stresses and triggers of the mentally ill additionally. Second, the term 'mentally illness' was to be defined more specifically, such as severe psychiatric disabled, antisocial personality disorder, intellectual disability, anger·impulse control disorder, and drug abuse. If medication and psychosocial treatments were properly treated to the severe psychiatric disabled, their crime incidence and recidivism will be decrease enough to live with their neighbors in community. But the ways and processes of treating antisocial personality disorder, intellectual disability, anger·impulse control disorder, and drug abuse were very different from it, requiring more intense psychological, medical and biological interventions and social seclusion. The national campaigns and projects for their human rights and community care will be needed to promote the therapeutic effects for them. The limitation and future tasks were discussed.
The environmental risks of cucumber mosaic virus resistant transgenic chili peppers with the CMVP0-CP gene on non-target organisms in the agroecosystem environments was evaluated during the periods of the chili pepper growing season (June 19, July 30, August 31) in 2007. Arthropods assemblages leaves and flowers of chili peppers were quantitatively collected by using an insect vacuum collector to compare the arthropod community structures between non-transgenic chili peppers (nTR, P 915) and mosaic virus resistant transgenic chili peppers (TR, CMV-cp, line 7). There was no statistical difference in the arthropod community structure between the two types of crops, nTR and TR, at the same season, although the species richness and Shannon's index were somewhat different among seasons; indicating no effects of genetically modified peppers on the arthropod community. However, further studies were required to conclude more concretely for the potential environmental risk of the transgenic chili pepper of CMV-cp.

A V-band MIMIC quadruple subharmonic mixer is reported in this paper. The cascode harmonic generator is proposed for a high conversion gain. The proposed cascode harmonic generator is shown with a 4-th harmonic output characteristic that represents an average of 2.9 dB and a maximum of 4 dB higher than the conventional multiplier. The measured result of the subharmonic mixer has a conversion gain of 3_4 dB which a good conversion gain at a LO power of 13 dBm. Isolations of LO-to-IF and LO-to-RF were obtained -53.6 dB and -46.2 dB, respectively. The conversion gain of the subharmonic mixer in this study has a higher conversion gain compared with some other reports in millimeter-wave range.

In this paper, low conversion loss 94 GHz MIMIC resistive mixer was designed and fabricated. The $0.1{\mu}m$ InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs Metamorphic HEMT, which is applicable to MIMIC's, was fabricated. The DC characteristics of MHEMT are 665 mA/mm of drain current density, 691 mS/mm of maximum transconductance. The current gain cut-off frequency(fT) is 189 GHz and the maximum oscillation frequency(fmax) is 334 GHz. A 94 GHz resistive mixer was fabricated using $0.1{\mu}m$ MHEMT MIMIC process. From the measurement, the conversion loss of the 94 GHz resistive mixer was 8.2 dB at an LO power of 10 dBm. P1 dB(1 dB compression point) of input and output were 9 dBm and 0 dBm, respectively. LO-RF isolations of resistive mixer was obtained 15.6 dB at 94.03 GHz. We obtained in this study a lower conversion loss compared to some other resistive mixers in W-band frequencies.

Ultra wideband CPW batons are proposed in this paper. The proposed talons are consisted of ultra wideband multi-stage Wilkinson dividers and 'X'-shaped $180^{\circ}$ out-of-phase generator. Bottom-bridges and via-holes are used to connect CPW ground lines instead of the conventional air-bridges which require troublesome manual working in fabrication with HMIC(Hybrid Microwave Integrated Circuits) substrates. The proposed CPW batons have ultra wideband of 3 or $10(=F_{figh}/F_{low})$ theoretically, the wideband characteristics and S-parameters of the basis Wilkinson divider are directly converted to those of the proposed batons. The proposed batons are so compact and small compared to the conventional Wilkinson batons because no additional area for out-of-phase section is required. So the size of the proposed batons is exactly the same as that of the basis Wilkinson dividers. As examples, 3-stage and 7-stage wideband Wilkinson dividers are converted to the proposed batons. Their measured operating bandwidth are $1\sim3GHz$ and $0.8\sim5GHz$, respectively, with excellent matching, isolation and power division performances. The measured magnitude and phase balance errors are ${\pm}0.5dB\;and\;0.45\;dB,\;and\;{\pm}5^{\circ}\;and\;{\pm}10^{\circ}C$ over $1\sim3GHz\;and\;0.8\sim5GHz$, respectively.
Roads are widely accepted to be as a major cause of habitat fragmentation. The wildlife road-crossing structure is one of the most acceptable alternatives among the solutions to provide connectivity between patches isolated by roads. We investigated noise disturbance, vegetation structure and wildlife crossing and habitation at a wildlife road-crossing structure located at the Jingmaei-Pass in Incheon, Korea, to monitor and evaluate its conservation value and ecological performance and to propose measures for their adaptive management. From the result of noise measurement, the noise disturbance from the road traffic was not properly blocked out at the wildlife crossing structure. The survey results of vegetation structure showed that the early-successional plant species such as Ambrosia trifida, Erigeron annuus, Pueraria lobata, Rosa multiflora invaded widely on the crossing structure. An efficient management of the vegetation should be necessarily considered for the facilitation of vegetation succession and the improvement of animal habitat. The crossing structure was used by limited mammal species: Apodemus agrarius, Nyctereutes procyonoides, Mogera wogura and Sciurus vulgaris coreae as the results of the monitoring using footprints and closed-circuit television. In conclusion, The Jingmaei-Pass wildlife crossing structure is unable to function properly as a biological corridor because of the interference of noise and flourishing disturbed vegetation. Therefore, proper alternatives are required for improving animal habitats and mobile environments to enhance the ecological function of a wildlife corridor.
To observe the transmission patterns of karyotype of Pneumocystis carinii (Pc) by rat colonies, three strains of rats, Sprague-Dawlcy(SD), Wistar(W) and Fisher (F) from various animal vendors, were suppressed of their immunity by injection of methyl prednisolone. They were kept for 5 to 13 weeks in 3 different animal rooms, A, B, and C. The purified organisms were prepared in low melting point agarose gel by embedded Iysis method for pulsed field gel electrophoresis. Field inversion gel electrophoresis showed 2 patterns of the kart·otype of Pc. The rooms A and C contained SD rats from the source p, and also the room A was used for F and W rats. However, Pc from all of the SD and F rats in the room A showed same karyotypes, the pattern I. The SD rats from difFerent vendors, M and 5, were reared in the room B, and shared the same Pc karyotypes, the pattern II . The rats of W strain were from the vendor M, and immune-suppressed in the animal room A. Five weeks after the expe- riment, the Pc showed the karyotype pattern II but the pattern became mixed with the type I after 7 to 8 weeks. The Bindings revealed that the animals born and reared in the same animal quarter harbored Pc with same karyotypes. If the animals were kept under immune-suppression in the same room with heavily infected hosts, they could be infected by Pc from their neighbors. The present experimental findings suggest that Pc is transmitted among rats through the air.

In this paper, we have presented millimeter-wave high conversion gain quadruple subharmonic mixers adopting the cascode harmonic generator The subharmonic mixers were successfully integrated by using 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ GaAs pseudomorphic HEMTs(PHEMTs) and coplanar waveguide(CPW) structures. Measured output of 1st, 2nd and 4th harmonics of the fabricated cascode 4th harmonic generator are -21.42 dBm, -32.65 dBm and -13.45 dBm, respectively, for an input power of 10 dBm at 14.5 GHz. We showed that the highest conversion gain of 3.4 dB has obtained thus far at a LO power of 13 dBm from the fabricated subharmonic mixers. The millimeter-wave subharmonic mixer also ensure a high degree of isolation showing -53.6 dB in the LO-to-IF and -46.2 dB in the LO-to-RF, respectively, at a frequency of 14.5 GHz. The high conversion gain achieved in this work is the first report among the millimeter-wave subharmonic mixers.
In order to clarify intra-and inter-specific variation of Korean Rana species, the partial DNA sequences of mitochondrial 16S rDNA gene were determined from 6 Korean and 1 Japanese Rana species, DNA sequences from Korean and Japanese species were comparison-analysed within, and also with the sequences from three species of Japanese brown frogs. DNA similarities were calculated as 91.3∼97.3% among brown frog (R. amurensis coreana, R. dybowskii and R. huanrenensis), as 96.11∼97.26% among pond frogs (R. nigromaculata and R. planeyi chosenica). Genetic distance of pond frog and wrinkle fyog (R. rugosa) were near than that of pond frog and brown frog. Two clusters were formed brown frogs and the other group by neigh-bor-joining and maximum-likelihood analysis, also the populations of R. nigromaculata were well distinguished between Korean peninsula and Korean island. But result from maximum-likelihood analysis slightly differed from neighbor-joining to cluster of R. rugosa. Further analyses for their population will be necessary to study the phylogenetic status.

In this paper, we present MIMIC(Millimeter-wave Monolithic Integrated Circuit) up-mixer with low conversion loss and low LO power for the V-band transmitter applications. The up-mixer was successfully integrated by using 0.1 ㎛ GaAs pseudomorphic HEMTs(PHEMTs) and coplanar waveguide (CPW) structures. The circuit is designed to operate at RF frequencies of 60.4 GHz, IF frequencies of 2.4 GHz, and LO frequencies of 58 GHz. The fabricated MIMIC up-mixer size is 2.3 mmxl.6 mm. The measured results show that the low conversion loss of 1.25 dB when input signal is -10.25 dBm at LO power of 5.4 dBm. The LO to RF isolation is 13.2 dB at 58 GHz. The fabricated V-band up-mixer represents lower LO input power and conversion loss characteristics than previous reported millimeter-wave up-mixers.
