기존의 내용기반 비디오 검색 시스템들은 주석기반 검색 또는 특징기반 검색과 같은 단일 방식으로만 검색을 하므로 검색 효율이 낮을 뿐 아니라 완전한 자동 처리가 되지 않아 시스템 관리자나 주석자의 많은 노력을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 주석기반 검색과 특징기반 검색을 이용하여 대용량의 비디오 데이터에 대한 사용자의 다양한 의미검색을 지원하는 에이전트 기반에서의 자동화되고 통합된 비디오 의미기반 검색 시스템을 제안한다 사용자의 기본적인 질의와 질의에 의해 추출된 키 프레임의 이미지를 선택함으로써 에이전트는 추출된 키 프레임의 주석에 대한 의미를 더욱 구체화시킨다. 또한, 사용자에 의해 선택된 키 프레임은 질의 이미지가 되어 제안하는 특징기반 검색기법을 통해 가장 유사한 키 프레임을 검색한다. 따라서 의미기반 검색을 통해 비디오 데이터의 검색의 효율을 높일 수 있도록 시스템을 제안한다.

본 논문에서는 한국어를 사용하는 사람들에게 올바른 국어 지식을 보급하여 올바른 국어 생활을 영위하도록 하고, 국어 정보화에 기여하고자 '어문 규정 검색 통합 시스템'을 설계하고 구현한다. '어문 규정 검색 통합 시스템'은 '한글 맞춤법 검색 시스템', '표준어 규정 검색 시스템', 외래어 표기법 검색 시스템'으로 구성되어 있다. '어문 규정 검색 통합 시스템'은 실생활에서 사용되고 있는 단어들이 맞춤법이나 표준어 규정, 외래어 표기법에 맞는지를 확인할 수 있도록 하며, 틀린 경우에 올바른 단어와 그에 해당하는 어문 규정을 알 수 있도록 하였다. '어문 규정 검색 통합 시스템'은 세부 검색 시스템들을 하나의 인터페이스에서 접근할 수 있도록 통합하였으며 '규정', 검색', '전체 검색', '게임', '통계'의 세부 메뉴로 구성되어 있다. 한국 어문 규정은 폴더 형식으로 장과 절을 체계적으로 검색할 수 있도록 구현하였다. 검색에서는 하나의 단어 입력으로 동시에 여러 세부 시스템에서 검색 결과를 찾도록 하였다.

웹 기반 자료들이 폭발적으로 증가함에 따라 적합한 자료들에 보다 효과적으로 접근할 수 있는 방법이 요구되고 있다. 이러한 새로운 방법들 중의 하나로 제한 검색이 점보 검색 분야에서 제시되었다. 제한 검색은 현재 입력한 검색어의 검색결과를 줄이고자 할 때 이용하는 검색방식으로 전체 문장을 포함하는 자료나 출판 년도, 특정 저널로 제한하여 검색할 수 있으며 일반적인 검색어로 검색할 경우 제한을 주어 결과물을 최대한 줄일 수 있도록 지원하고 있다. 하지만 이러한 검색 방법은 검색의 범위를 URL에 의해 명시되는 사이트 또는 도메인들로만 제한할 수 있을 뿐이며 의미적으로 관련된 사이트들로 제한할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 정보의 공유를 목적으로 하는 커뮤니티를 시맨틱 웹 서비스(Semantic Web Services) 기술을 이용하여 플랫폼에 상관없이 사용자 검색 질의와 가장 유사한 커뮤니티를 의미적으로 식별해 내고 커뮤니티 내의 정보 중 질의와 관련된 정보를 검색결과로 도출할 수 있는 구조를 제안한다.

시맨틱 웹 기술을 활용한 시맨틱 검색은 문서의 의미를 온톨로지의 메타데이터로 생성하여 이를 바탕으로 검색을 수행하게 된다. 이와같은 온톨로지 기반의 시맨틱 검색은 논리를 바탕으로 추론을 적용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 온톨로지 기반의 추론을 적용한 시맨틱 검색 시스템을 언급하고 시맨틱 검색 시스템에서의 성능향상을 위해 추론엔진의 작업메모리 영역의 부하를 줄여 기존의 시스템보다 빠른 성능의 시맨틱 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 시맨틱 검색 시스템의 성능향상을 위한 방법론으로는 다음과 같다 첫째, 추론엔진이 검색 도메인내의 전체 메타데이터를 가지고 추론을 수행하지 않고 메타데이터의 온톨로지부분 만을 사용하여 사용자가 원하는 질의문을 추론하여 검색에 사용하게 한다. 둘째, 시맨틱 검색 방법에서 Dirtectly 매칭 검색과 시맨틱 추론검색을 병행하여 수행하게 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 메타데이터의 온톨로지부분과 인스턴스부분을 분리하는 단계와 분리된 온톨로지부분에서 사용자가 원하는 질의를 추론하는 단계, 추론된 질의문을 검색시스템에서 매칭하는 단계를 수행하게 된다. 이러한 방법은 메타데이터의 양이 증가하여도 온톨로지부분은 증가하지 않으므로 추론엔진에서 전 방향 추론단계의 수행시간을 단축과 추론엔진의 호출 횟수를 단축시키는 결과를 가져온다.

현재 웹 서비스에서 사용하고 있는 키워드 기반 검색은 syntactic한 정보만을 제공한다. 웹 서비스의 이러한 단점을 보안하고자 시멘틱 웹 기술이 제안되고 있다. DQL 검색 시스템은 검색 결과의 질을 향상시키기 위해서 시멘틱 웹 기반의 검색 시스템 중지 하나다. 시멘틱 검색은 입력된 질의들을 통해서 사용자가 원하는 정보와 의미가 일치하는 결과를 얻어내는 것이다. 본 논문은 시스템을 이용하는 각 사용자에 따라 검색되는 결과들에 우선순위를 적용하는 DQL 검색 시스템을 제안하고 다음 3가지 부분에 중점을 두어 시스템을 설계하였다. 첫째, 각 사용자들의 성향을 검색 결과에 반영하기 위해 개인화 프로파일과 온톨로지를 생성하는 개인화 온톨로지 생성기를 설계한다. 둘째. 검색 정확도틀 논이기 위해 검색 대상에 되는 정보들의 숙성과 관계를 추론해주는 검색 엔진을 설계한다. 마지막으로 DQL 검색 시스템의 사용 효율성을 높이기 위해 사용자가 입력한 키워드를 DQL로 자동 변환하는 DQL 컨버터를 설계한다.

Recently in the area of the information environment, there are lively discussions about search 2.0 which is representative of the next generation search services. In this study, we divide information search model into matching and linking models according the developmental stages. Therefore, on the one hand, we analyze the background, main concepts, related attributes and cases of the next generation search services and the other, we identify the representative keywords by the group analysis of various attributes and cases of it. The result shows that the main keywords such as social search, artificial intelligence and semantic search, and relation/network based search are representative of the search 2.0.

현재 웹 서비스에서 주로 사용하고 있는 키워드 기반 검색은 사용자의 의도와는 상관없는 정보까지 검색하는 경우가 많아서, 실제로 원하는 정보를 찾는데 많은 시간과 노력을 요구한다는 단점이 있다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위해서 최근 시맨틱 웹이라는 개념이 등장하였으며, 본 논문에서는 검색 결과의 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 온톨로지를 기반으로 시맨틱 검색시스템을 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 설계한 온톨로지 기반의 시맨틱 검색 시스템은 기능적으로 크게 두 부분으로 구성되어 있다. 즉, 자료 수집을 하는 로봇 에이전트와 온톨로지를 기반으로 자료를 검색하는 시맨틱 검색 엔진으로 구성된다. 로봇 에이전트는 자율적으로 웹을 순회하면서 자료를 수집하고 필터링하여 메타데이터 저장소로 가져오는 역할을 한다. 시맨틱 검색 엔진은 사용자의 검색 폼으로부터 전달된 정보 검색 요구사항을 기초로 시맨틱 질의어로 변환한 후, 온톨로지 저장소를 활용하여 검색한다. 시맨틱 검색 엔진은 사용자가 입력한 검색어를 시맨틱 질의어로 변환해 주는 질의처리 모듈과 사용자의 의도를 추론하여 보다 향상된 검색을 가능하게 해주는 추론(Inference) 모듈, 온톨로지를 보관해주는 온톨로지 저장소 등으로 구성된다. 본 논문에서 설계한 온톨로지 기반의 시맨틱 검색 시스템은 키워드 기반 검색에 비해 사용자가 원하는 정보를 찾는데 소요되는 시간과 노력을 줄여 주고, 사용자의 의도에 적합한 정보를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

Query logs are online records that capture user interactions with information retrieval systems and all the search processes. Query log analysis offers ad advantage of providing reasonable and unobtrusive means of collecting search information from a large number of users. In this paper, query logs of NAVER, a major Korean Internet search service, were analyzed to investigate the information seeking behabior of NAVER users. The query logs were collected over one week from various collecions such as comprehensive search, directory search and web ducument searc. It is expected that this study could contribute to the development and implementation of more effective web search systems and services.

This study aims to investigate information seeking behavior of mobile-based Web users, especially, college students. This study also evaluates mobile search services based on various criteria, and suggests how to improve portal's mobile search services. The results of this study show that the most urgent improvement is needed in the contents of mobile search services. Improvements are also required in the area of interface design followed by accessibility and mobile search functionalities. The results of this study can be applied to the portal's effective development of mobile search services.

The purpose of this research was to implement and verify an information retrieval(IR) system based on users' relevance criteria for information search tasks. For this purpose, we implemented an IR system with a dynamic ranking model using users' relevance criteria varying with the types of information search task and evaluated this system through user experiment. 45 participants performed three information search tasks on both IR systems with a static and a dynamic ranking model. Three Information search tasks are fact finding search task, problem solving search task and decision making search task. Participants evaluated top five search results on 7 likert scales of relevance. We observed that the IR system with a dynamic ranking model provided more relevant search results compared to the system with a static ranking model. This research has significance in designing IR system for information search tasks, in testing the validity of user-oriented relevance judgement model by implementing an IR system for actual information search tasks and in relating user research to the improvement of an IR system.
