  • In this paper, we propose a design of the metadata engine of the video recording system to minimize the retrieval time. For this purpose, the proposed metadata engine stores the XML metadata as a separated fragment and construct a hierarchical indexing scheme based on the contextual and structural properties of metadata. The hierarchical indexing scheme is consisted of a node index for basic searching and a group index for advanced searching. In this way our approach can minimize the number of indexes and thus the retrieval time. Our simulation results show that the response time of our proposed system is shorter than that of the previous works.

  • In the Internet of various networks, it is difficult to reduce real routing time by just minimizing their hop count. We propose an adaptive proximity route selection method in DHT-based peer-to-peer systems, in which nodes select the nぉe with smallest lookup latency among their routing table entries as a next routing node. Using Q-Routing algorithm and exponential recency-weighted average, each node estimates the total latency and establishes a lookup table. Moreover, without additional overhead, nodes exchange their lookup tables to update their routing tables. Several simulations measuring the lookup latencies and hop-to-hop latency show that our method outperforms the original Chord method as well as CFS' server selection method.

  • As the Internet gets faster, the demand for high-speed routers that are capable of forwarding more than giga bits of data per second keeps increasing. In the previous research, Bitmap Trie algorithm was developed to rapidly execute LPM(longest prefix matching) process which is Well known as the Severe performance bottleneck. In this paper, we introduce a novel algorithm that drastically enhanced the performance of Bitmap. Trie algorithm by applying three techniques. First, a new table called the Count Table was devised. Owing to this table, we successfully eliminated shift operations that was the main cause of performance degradation in Bitmap Trie algorithm. Second, memory utilization was improved by removing redundant forwarding information from the Transfer Table. Lastly. the range of prefix lookup was diversified to optimize data accesses. On the other hand, the processing delays were classified into three categories according to their causes. They were, then, measured through the execution-driven simulation that provides the higher quality of the results than any other simulation techniques. We tried to assure the reliability of the experimental results by comparing with those that collected from the real system. Finally the Enhanced Bitmap Trie algorithm reduced 82% of time spent in previous algorithm.

  • Packet forwarding in the Internet routers is to find out the longest prefix that matches the destination address of an input packet and to forward the input packet to the output port designated by the longest matched prefix. The IP address lookup is the key of the packet forwarding, and it is required to have efficient data structures and search algorithms to provide the high-speed lookup performance. In this paper, an efficient IP address lookup algorithm using binary search is investigated. Most of the existing binary search algorithms are not efficient in search performance since they do not provide a balanced search. The proposed binary search algorithm performs perfectly balanced binary search using switch pointers. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated using actual backbone routing data and it is shown that the proposed algorithm provides very good search performance without increasing the memory amount storing the forwarding table. The proposed algorithm also provides very good scalability since it can be easily extended for multi-way search and for large forwarding tables

  • In this paper, we propose a music search algorithm for automotive infotainment system. The proposed method extracts fingerprints using the high peaks based on log-spectrum of the music signal, and the extracted music fingerprints store in cloud server applying a hash value. In the cloud server, the most similar music is retrieved by comparing the user's query music with the fingerprints stored in hash table of cloud server. To evaluate the performance of the proposed music search algorithm, we measure an accuracy of the retrieved results according to various length of the query music and measure a retrieval time according to the number of stored music database in hash table.

In this study, if you proceed with the recorded data search, we propose a method for increasing the user's search convenience. It has predefined data structure which is between camera's movement path and relationship. Also, design and implement a tool that automatically generates a files which has inter camera related information on the control center in a multi-camera is installed environment. Using generated file, minimize searching time and increase searching efficiency.

  • Recently, DHT-based Structured P2P System have a attention to scalability and providing efficient lookup by routing. Retrieving content of DHT-based P2P require knowledge of the exact identifier of sharing file. But user may wish to search for sharing file using descriptive keyword or content. To resolve the problem, this paper propose Extended-CAN mechanism to support keyword search. We defined content-based keyword and identifier of sharing file, and PLS extended to KID and CKD for keyword, common keyword processing. As a result, Extended-CAN mechanism provide efficient keyword search for DHT-based Structured P2P System.

  • IP address lookup is one of the most important and complex functions in the router. In this paper, we propose an improved technique of LC-trie to increase the performance of IP address lookup in the high performance router. We effectively apply the prefix pruning method, which is used for the compression of the forwarding table in TCAM((Ternary Content Addressable Memory), to the LC-trie. This technique can decrease the number of memory accesses and upgrade the lookup speed. Moreover, through the real forwarding table and the real traffic distribution, we evaluate the performance of our scheme in terms of the lookup time and the number of memory access, comparing with that of the previous LC-trie.

  • Advance of internet access technology requires more internet bandwidth and high-speed packet processing. IP address lookups in routers are essential elements which should be performed in real time for packets arriving tens-of-million packets per second. In this paper, we proposed a new architecture for efficient IP address lookup. The proposed scheme produces multiple balanced trees stored into a single SRAM. The proposed scheme performs sequential binary searches on multiple trees. Performance evaluation results show that p개posed architecture requires 301.7KByte SRAM to store about 40,000 prefix samples, and an address lookup is achieved by 11.3 memory accesses in average.
