The Properties of Temperature History of Concrete with Surface Insulating Material in Cold Weather Concreting (한중콘크리트 시공시 표면 단열재 변화에 따른 콘크리트의 온도이력 특성)

  • This study investigate the hydration heat history with variation of surface insulating material in cold weather concreting. According to the results, the temperature of concrete lowers below zero in 24hours, so early frost damage occurs in the case of exposure and 1 fold bubble sheet, but the lowest temperature keeps above zero, so a adiabatic effect is very favorable in the case of double bubble sheet and 부직포. Compressive strength of core specimen at 7 and 28 days is highest In the case of double bubble sheet and 부직포. But, considering convenience of construction and economical efficiency, it is thought that the most effective surface insulating material is 1 fold bubble sheet +blanket.

  • Concrete has been considered as a semi-permanent structural material, because its excellent durability. Recently, durability decline of concrete construction by environmental pollution is becoming social problem.   • A glassy thin film was formed on the surface of the blast furnace slag. When blast furnace slag is used as an admixture of concrete, addition of alkali activators were required. However, alkali activators are not only dangerous as chemical products, but they are also difficult to use as expensive materials. Therefore, it is necessary to study the way of removal of the glassy thin film of blast furnace slag without the risk and cost increase. In this study, to solve this problem, experiment was carried out to improve the hydration reactivity by treatment the surface of blast furnace slag using arc discharge. Experimental results show that when the surface of the blast furnace slag was tratmented by arc discharge, the glassy thin film was destroyed. And the hydration reactivity was improved, the compressive strength was increased.

Comparison of Temperature History of Concrete with the Combination of the Various Surface Curing Sheets at Hot Weather Condition (표면 양생시트 조합에 의한 서중콘크리트 표면온도 이력 비교)

  • This study investigates the temperature history of slab mock-up specimens for hot weather concreting applying various surface insulating methods, in order to improve concrete quality at hot weather condition. Test showed that the use of insulating blanket or a bubble sheet on upper section of slab prevented from abrupt increase of temperature and vaporization of moisture during early curing at hot weather circumstance. In addition, it secured higher strength at early age. Therefore it is concluded that concrete construction insulating with the bubble sheet will reduce the plastic and drying shrinkage as well as improve strength at early age, thus securing concrete duality.

  • It is essential every concrete structure should continue to perform its intended functions, that is maintain its required strength and durability, during the service life. However, deterioration occurs more progressively from the outside of concrete exposed to severe conditions. Deterioration in the concrete structure is due to carbonation and chloride ion attack. Therefore, concrete structure is needed to surface protection for increase durability using impregnant. Impregnant classify into two large groups in polymeric and silicate materials. Silicate impregnant is included silane and alkali silicate(sodium and lithium silicate). Thus, this study is concerned with carbonation and chloride ion resistance of self cleaning hydrophilic impregnant of concrete structure using lithium and potassium silicate. From the experimental test result, lithium and potassium silicate have a good properties as a carbonation and chloride ion resistance. Lithium and potassium silicate make good use of hydrophilic impregnant.

  • In this study, the optimization of mixing proportion of press-forming board with blast furnace slag, pearlite and bottom ash was investigated using the response surface methodology. Ten Mixing proportions of specimens were designed by the response surface design, and then flexural failure load, moisture content and water absorption of specimens were measured. As a result of the reaction surface analysis based on the experimental results, it was possible to derive the optimal mixing proportion with the satisfaction of 93%.

  • As the importance of maintenance of reinforced concrete structure recently has emerged, the attention of durability of structure has been increasing. There are many studies about durability decline especially due to the carbonation. In order to study carbonation progress after surface repair of carbonated concrete, each carbonation penetration velocity from different repair materials of concrete structure is compared through the experiment of carbonation accelerating CO2 concentration to 100%. As carbonation infiltration progress is predicted through this study, the counterplan of service life evaluation will be prepared on selection of repair materials of concrete structure.

  • There is some recognition that Decoration Wood-based Flooring Board in Korea is a material that inhibits the heat transfer from the substrate to the room. There is a lack of substantial research literature on the surface heat transfer and condition of Decoration Wood-based Flooring Board, which is insufficient to deal with false perceptions. In this study, the purpose of this study is to analyze the surface heat transfer characteristics of Decoration Wood-based Flooring Board and to obtain basic data to cope with recognition.

  • Many problems in various aspects such as generation of plastic/dry contraction cracks and cold joints can be caused unless proper quality control measures are established in hot weather circumstances. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the crack patterns of concrete by applying a change in 3 surface curing methods such as a mono aluminum-deposited bubble sheet developed to reduce the temperature and cracks through reflection of heat in summer and a PE film and a surface exposure used generally to an actually constructed apartment slab. The study result confirmed that the best concrete crack reduction effect can be obtained with a mono aluminum-deposited bubble sheet.
