Character Detection and Recognition of Steel Materials in Construction Drawings using YOLOv4-based Small Object Detection Techniques (YOLOv4 기반의 소형 물체탐지기법을 이용한 건설도면 내 철강 자재 문자 검출 및 인식기법)

  • As deep learning-based object detection and recognition research have been developed recently, the scope of application to industry and real life is expanding. But deep learning-based systems in the construction system are still much less studied. Calculating materials in the construction system is still manual, so it is a reality that transactions of wrong volumn calculation are generated due to a lot of time required and difficulty in accurate accumulation. A fast and accurate automatic drawing recognition system is required to solve this problem. Therefore, we propose an AI-based automatic drawing recognition accumulation system that detects and recognizes steel materials in construction drawings. To accurately detect steel materials in construction drawings, we propose data augmentation techniques and spatial attention modules for improving small object detection performance based on YOLOv4. The detected steel material area is recognized by text, and the number of steel materials is integrated based on the predicted characters. Experimental results show that the proposed method increases the accuracy and precision by 1.8% and 16%, respectively, compared with the conventional YOLOv4. As for the proposed method, Precision performance was 0.938. The recall was 1. Average Precision AP0.5 was 99.4% and AP0.5:0.95 was 67%. Accuracy for character recognition obtained 99.9.% by configuring and learning a suitable dataset that contains fonts used in construction drawings compared to the 75.6% using the existing dataset. The average time required per image was 0.013 seconds in the detection, 0.65 seconds in character recognition, and 0.16 seconds in the accumulation, resulting in 0.84 seconds.

  • 많은 난관을 극복하고 조기착공에 성공한 후에, 우선적으로 고려할 사항은 주공정(Crtical Path) 을 관리하는 것이다. 주공정(critical Path)의 초기 작업에 필요한 자재, 장비, 인원의 준비를 재점검하고 하도급추진을 하는 한편, 계약서상의 요구조건, 승인사항에 미흡한 점이 없는지를 검토하고 보완한다. 계약서상의 요구사항을 미비하거나 무시했을 경우, 반드시 그에 상응하는 경제적 대가를 치루어야 한다는 것을 명심해야 한다. 시공을 하기 위해서는 자재승인 후 작업도면(Working Drawing/ Construction Drawing/ Shop Drawing)의 승인을 받고, 작업방법(Method Statement)을 제출하고, 설명화 Presentation) 및 시험시공(Demonstration 또는 Mockup)을 거쳐 감리자의 시공허락을 받아야 하며 각종 Test를 통해 품질관리를 실행해야 한다. 시공지는 시방서에서 요구하는 품질이 보장되는 범위 내에서, 최대한 공기를 단축할 수 있도록 공사초기부터 노력을 해야 하며, 공사의 모든 과정에서 항상 claim 여부, 공기내 준공, 하자 Zero, 최단 시일 내에 최대의 기성취하에 역점을 두고, 이에 장애요인을 해결하는 것으로 공사를 진행해야 한다.

  • 현장에서는 주공정과 예산관리를 중심으로 공사진행을 하고, 공정이 90% 이상 달성되었거나 또는 잔여공기가 9개윌 정도 남아 있으면 모든 공정을 재검토하기 바란다. 우선 하청시로부터 잔여 공사에 대한 공정표를 받아, 잔여공시 1개월 전에 준공될 수 있는지 검토한다. 9개월 정도 앞서 준공기일을 검토하는 것은, 자재납기가 장기간(7개월 정도) 소요되는(플랜트 Control Panel 등) 자재의 발주여부를 검토하고, 잔여공기 내에 정상 작업으로 공기 내 준공이 불가하다고 예측될 경우, 3개월 또는 6개월 돌관작업 계획을 세우기 위함이다. 잔여공기가 3개월 정도 남아 있을 때, 시설물을 인계(Hand Over) 하기 위해 본격적인 준비를 한다. 준공이란 "계약적으로 발주자가 실제적으로 계약서에 의도된 목적으로 사용할 수 있는 상태(표준계악일반조건 48. 1)"를 말하므로, 이 점에 착안하여 발주자가 시설물을 제때에 사용하지 못함으로써 발생되는 지체보상금(Liquidated Damage)을 물지 않도록 작전을 세운다.

  • The study set up the models of a general standard apartment house and a super high-rise standard apartment house, which were based on the 5 floor plans of the assessment reference houses of the "green homes" provided by the government; such main construction materials as to account for more than 80% of the entire amount of $CO_2$ emission in a construction work were selected; a database was built up for evaluating the environmental loads of the main materials according to the house types that were different from each other in area, block type, combination of living units or floor; and using the database, an attempt was made to develop the technology to assess $CO_2$ emission from the production of construction materials used in the stage of construction.

  • 전통적으로 주요 EPC(설계, 구매, 시공) 공사는 최초의 엔지니어링 작업(FEED : Front End Engineering Design)을 한 후, 경쟁입찰을 하여 총액계약(Lamp Sum)으로 공사를 수행했다. 최근에 EPC시공자의 위험부담을 줄이는 한편, 발주자는 경쟁적인 시공자를 확보할 수 있는 기회를 확대하면서 협상기간을 단축하교 조기착공을 위해, Lump Sum 가격을 늦게 결정하는 방법을 고려한다. CLST(Converted Lump Sum Turnkey)계약방식은 최초의 엔지니어링 작업을 한 후 경쟁입찰을 통해 1차 계약을 맺고(설계 및 특별 자재 공급에 대한) 공사를 수행하다 설계가 충분히 진행되고 핵심자재에 대한 견적이 입수되어 발주 가능한 시점 및 하도급사를 선정할 준비가 된 시점에서 1차 계약을 변경해 2차 계약을 맺는다. 2차 계약 시 1차 시 맺은 계약조건(직접공사비, 일반관리비 및 이윤, 최대한도 금액이 포함됨)을 기준으로 하되, 발주자가 Open Book 형식으로 공사비를 평가하고 재협상하여 Lump Sum 금액으로 전환해 합의한다. 이후 Lump Sum Tumkey 계약과 동일한 형식으로 공사를 수행한다.

  • There are usually plenty of material inventories in a construction site. More inventories can meet unexpected demands, and also they may have an economical advantage by avoiding a probable escalation of raw material costs. On the other hand, these inventories also cause negative aspects to increase costs for storing redundant inventory as well as decreasing construction productivity. Therefore, a proper method of deciding an optimal level of material inventories while considering dynamic variations of resources under uncertainty is very crucial for the economical efficiency of construction projects. This research presents a stochastic modelling method for construction operations, particularly targeting a work process involving on-site fabrication of raw materials like iron-rebar process (delivery, cut and assembly, and placement). To develop the model, we apply the concept of factory physics to depict the overall components of a system. Then, an optimal inventory management model is devised to support purchase decisions where users can make timely actions on how much to order and when to buy raw materials. Also, optimal time lag, which minimizes the storage time for pre-assembled materials, is obtained. To verify this method, a real case is applied to elicit an optimal amount of inventory and time lag. It is found that average values as well as variability of inventory level decreased significantly so as to minimize economic costs related to inventory management under uncertain project condition.

  • The Computerizing Record Management System(RMS) has been developed for ULJIN Nuclear Power Plant in Korea on the basis of the Manual System. By means of review and analysis of processing flow & project requirements, system logics such as Receiving system, Logging system, Distribution system, Filing system, Indexing & Retrieval system and Output system of statistic and various reports, have been established for computerizing. Structure of Masterfile has been designed so as to include Bibliographic data, Transmittal data, Distribution data, Area data, RMS data for operation of Plant. The RMS data have been designed for construction and operation of the plant by adding index parameters for operation such as System code, KEPCO No., Component link code and Retention period on the point of receiving. The RMS has turned out an easy access to cross-reference between RMS and Material Control System.

  • 정부의 주택 2백만호 건설이 본격 추진되면서 건설인력난, 자재난 등이 심화되고 있어 설비공사업계가 이의 대책 마련의 일환으로 건식공법 개발에 부심한 노력을 기울이고 있다. 건식 공법은 자재의 대량생산으로 현장에서 조립만 하면 되기 때문에 시공이 간편할 뿐만 아니라 비숙련공도 거뜬히 시공할 수 있어 인건비 및 자재난 등을 해결할 수 있다. 게다가 건설공사에 있어서 가장 중요한 공사비 절감, 공기 단축, 품질의 표준화 등의 효과를 누릴 수 있기 때문에 설비공사업계에선 이의 적극적인 도입이 더욱 필요한 때이다.

  • A lot of changes are required in a management method of a project because the character of construction projects gets bigger and higher gradually. Especially, for the efficiency of the management method the plans of various viewpoints focused on the construction supply chain field that the technical application of Ubiquitous Technologies such as RFID/USN is being advanced actively are presented. Recently, the introduction of the intelligent equipment which is developed for intelligence of construction site requires the new process model in the construction supply chain management on the construction site. Therefore, this study is to propose the intelligent construction supply chain reference model development in order to provide the guide that the numerous materials for construction could easily be applied in the changed process, as mentioned above, by overcoming the limit of the existing construction supply chain process which is proposed as bar codes and RFID/USN based individual material types and reflecting the change factors like the intelligent equipment of construction supply chain management.
