Building construction process improvement using prefabricated materia (공업화자재의 활용을 통한 공정합리화)

  • The purpose of this study is to present an improvement building construction process by using prefabricated materials. The current slab form work has waste factor by unnecessary process and not complete integration with the finishing process. Therefore the study used value stream analysis methodology for effective improvement of slab form work process. The main contents of the study are as follows; 1) Non-value adding activities were found at existing slab form work process by current state mapping(CSM) 2) Future state mapping(FSM) suggest process Integration to slab form work. 3) Slab form work is analyzed reduction time-cost by prefabricated material. The study recommends that, as a future research, development of tool and technique for the non-value adding activities are eliminated in building construction and application of prefabricated material should be increased.

  • For large-scale projects, supply chain management of construction materials is a key to a successful construction project. Inefficient management would cause significant loss in project cost, quality problems (and possible re-work), delayed delivery, claims, etc. On the other hand, efficient supply chain management system can reduce risks even the given project suffers from tricky details and frequent changes thanks to reduced material loss, shortened delivery time, and the quality outcome; this is a win-win situation for both clients and contractors. This paper presents a next-generation intelligent supply chain management system, which is intended to support large-scale construction projects such as urban high-rise buildings, as a strategic vision of the future construction logistics.

Linear Regression Analysis to Evaluate the Particulate Matter Removal Rate of Functional Construction Materials (건설자재 미세먼지 제거율 평가를 위한 선형 회귀 분석법 제안)

  • In order to remove particulate matter, functional construction materials are developed. However, there is no evaluation method and infrastructure for particulate matter removal rate. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to build a particulate matter removal rate test chamber and to present a method for particulate matter removal rate. As a result, since construction materials have effectiveness in an environment where particulate matter is generated, the particulate matter injection step was proposed as a comparison target. The evaluation of the particulate removal rate was proposed by relative comparison of the slope values obtained by linear regression analysis for all concentration values measured in the particulate matter injection step. In linear regression method, all measured values can be evaluated, and the variability can be evaluated with the coefficient of determination (R-square), so that the reliability of the particulate matter removal rate can be secured.

Optimization of Multiple Tower Cranes and Material Stockyards Layout (다중 양중장비와 자재 야적 위치의 최적 결정을 위한 모델 개발)

  • This study aims to provide an optimal model for the layout of multiple tower cranes and material stockyards which have multiple candidate positions. In a high-rise building construction, the positional allocation of tower cranes and material stockyard has an effect on the travel time of material hauling. In addition, in case of using multiple tower cranes, specific location of a tower crane allocated to each material determines the efficiency of the works. Current optimal model limited to the optimization of position of single tower crane and material stockyards. This study suggests optimal model both for the positions of multiple tower cranes and material stockyards. Layout of multiple tower cranes requires additional allocation of each crane to each material hauling and control on the minimum distance between tower cranes. This optimization model utilizes genetic algorithm to deal with complex interaction on the candidate positions of multiple tower cranes, material stockyards, and types of materials. In order to identify its utility, case study was performed.

  • Currently, there is database for per unit requirements of major construction materials in terms of energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission based on the input-output table published by the Bank of Korea in 2000, but no database for per unit requirements based on input-output tables was published in 2005 and 2007. The purpose of this study was to calculate the unit requirement values of major construction materials in terms of energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission generated by using the input-output tables published in 2005 and 2007. To estimate the unit requirement values, a database building method with the input-output tables was adopted by selecting 16 types of construction materials in wide use on construction sites. When the study results were compared with existing unit requirement values based on the input-output table of 2000, there were small discrepancies, from which it can be interpreted that the method used in the study is reasonable. Unit requirement values estimated based on input-output tables of 2005 and 2007 tended to decrease, and the highest value of energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission were found in the materials using cement and rebar.

  • 시멘트업계를 비롯한 건설자재업계는 2013년 건설투자가 정책효과 등에 힘입어 일시적으로 증가함에 따라 출하량이 소폭이나마 회복되는 모습을 보였다. 그러나 건설투자의 회복세가 다시 2014년에 크게 둔화될 것으로 전망됨에 따라 2014년 시멘트업계의 상황은 개선되기 쉽지 않을 것으로 보인다. 이 글에서는 2014년 건설경기에 영향을 미칠 주요 쟁점요인과 아울러 2014년 국내 건설수주 및 건설투자를 전망하고 시사점에 대해 살펴본다.

  • 2백만호 주택건설을 비롯한 국내건설경기의 활황이 연 3년째 지속되고 있는 가운데 자재난, 인력난, 노임단가의 급상승 등은 건설경기의 활황 이면에 어두운 그림자를 던져주고 있다. 특히 자재가격의 상승 및 구득난은 공사원가의 상승 및 공기의 자연 등으로 이어져 건설경기의 압박요인으로 작용하고 있는 것이다. 이러한 현상은 설비공사업계에도 미치고 있는 것으로서 만성적인 자재구득난의 하나로 지적되어온 위생도기류는 대량 수입과 생산시설의 증가 등으로 해소될 기미를 보이고 있으나 최근들어 유리면보온재 및 밸브류, 강관, 주철관등은 아직도 구득이 어려운 실정이다. 본지는 설비공사업계에서 심각한 구득난을 빚고 있는 보온재, 위생도기, 밸브류 등을 차례로 점검, 진단해 본다.
