Background and Objective : Localized Pustular Psoriasis(LPP) is a rare form of psoriasis characterized by erythematous papules, plaques studded with pustules(usually on palms or soles) However, the pathophysiology of the LPP remains obscure. Treatment at present is symptomatic and supportive. There is no report on LPP treated with oriental medical treatment. Methods : We conducted one patient with LPP seen at Won-Kwang University Ik-San Oriental Medical Hospital in 2003. We treated LPP in a forty-nine years old man by a herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxa, etc Conclusions : We had a significant results. So we report this case to estimate the efficiency of oriental medic at treatment and management on LPP

Objective : We investigated the effects of Oriental medical treatment on psoriasis which is a chronic disease. Methods : We applied acupuncture and herbal medicine to psoriasis patients. The progress of symptom is calculated using PASI(psoriasis area and severity) score and degree of itching is checked 0 to 3. Results : After oriental medical treatment, patients recovered from psoriasis without side effect. Conclusion : Oriental medical treatment can be a very effective way to treat psoriasis. The more patients we treat, the more clinical report is accumulated. Then it would be helpful to map out a systematic treatment on psoriasis.

Although the exact mechanism responsible for the pathogenesis of psoriasis is unclear, interferon-${\gamma}$ producing type 1 T cells have been reported to play a significant role. Infiltrating activated type 1 T cells in the lesions are believed to be responsible for stimulating keratinocytes, which produce many cytokines and growth factors. The hyperproliferative epidermis is understood to be the result of either the cytokines produced by the intraepidermal T cells or the reactive phenomenon after keratinocyte damage. The microenvironment in psoriatic lesions deviates toward the type 1 status, because of the increased type 1 cytokines and either the decreased or unchanged type 2 cytokines observed in psoriatic lesions. Therefore, this review focused on a T-cell-mediated immunological basis for the current hypothesis of the psoriasis pathogenesis.

Objectives The purpose of these 3 cases study is to report the effects of psoriasis children treated by oriental medicine. Methods The subjects are 3 children diagnosed as having psoriasis. These patients were treated by oriental herbal medicine(Bangpungtongsungsan). We observed the improvement of skin condition by Psoriasis Area and Severity Index(PASI) score. Results After treatment, the symptoms of psoriasis were relieved. PASI score of three children in psoriasis was respectively changed from 7 to 0, 2.4 to 0, 3.6 to 0. Conclusions This study shows that Bangpungtongsungsan can be an effective treatment for psoriasis. Further study in needed with more cases of treatment.

Objective : This study is designed to investigate the effect of Oriental medical therapy on psoriasis. Methods : We applied Aroma ointment to abnormal skin two times a day. For herbal medicine, Bangpungtongsungsan-gami was given. We checked involvement in scaly skin, erythematosus papules and infiltration according to psoriasis area and severity(PASI) Results : After treatment, the patient showed that itching symptoms was disappeared and score of PASI changed from 27 to 0.8 Conclusions : According to the result, Oriental medical therapy and Aroma therapy has a good effect on psoriasis. But further studies are required to definitely prove the effectiveness of Aroma therapy

There have been several reports about coexistence of myasthenia and other autoimmune disease. Psoriasis is a papulosquamous disease defined by erythematous plaques with a silvery scale and a T-cell-mediated autoimmune disease. We report a case of a 49-year-old man with generalized myasthenia gravis (MG) superimposed by psoriasis. MG was diagnosed by clinical symptoms, increased acetylcholine receptor antibody titer and repetitive nerve stimulation test. Psoriasis was diagnosed by clinical manifestations and specific skin biopsy findings. MG and psoriasis are both autoimmune diseases. The coexistence of MG and psoriasis suggest a close connection of pathogenesis.

Objective The object of this case report is to evaluate the possibility of utilizing Osuyu-tang as a new therapy of psoriasis.Method Diagnosis and Psoriasis' progress was evaluated based on the patient's chart and picture. Diagnosis based on Sanghanlun was organized by graph. The severity of psoriasis' progress was evaluated by Psoriasis Area Severity Index(PASI) and visually analyzed through picture.Results On PASI and picture, we could confirm psoriasis’s area was decreased from hairline to middle of forehead and redness, thickness, scale of psoriasis also got better.Conclusion Osuyu-tang is efficient to patient of this case report as a treatment.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to present four case reports on the treatments of psoriasis initiated after acute tonsillitis. Methods: We administered herbal medicine to four patients who showed psoriasis symptoms after acute tonsillitis and evaluated the results by Psoriasis Area and Severity Index(PASI). Results: After the treatment all four patients showed improvements in PASI. PASI of patient 1 changed from 27.7 to 1.8; patient 2 from 19.8 to 0.4; patient 3 from 28.8 to 0; patient 4 from 6.9 to 0. Conclusions: The results suggest that herbal medicine can be an effective treatment for psoriasis of which the occurrence is related to acute tonsillitis.

In clinical practice, Psoriasis is commomly difficult to be completely cured that only repeats improvement and to be worsen. We experienced one case of Psoriasis patient who had had generalized expoliative Psoriasis for more than one year. After hospitalization treatment of ten days and outpatient treatment of three months, he's chief complain improved continuously and there was not worsen sign any more. So, He could return to his usual life, We still did't know the mechanism that Saengkankunbi-Tang brought his improvement by, but we think that more case studies are necessary focusing on damp-heat because of much drinking for long time and years of duration of skin disease.
