  • This paper describes the relationship and influencing factors among academic stress, university life adaptation, and health promotion behaviors of health college students. Data were collected from October 2017 to May 2018 using a structural questionnaire, which was completed by 223 health college students in D metropolitan city. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression using an IBM SPSS 20.0. As a result, the mean scores were as follows: academic stress, 3.02±0.89; university life adaptation, 3.16±0.48; health promotion behavior, 2.14±0.45. Correlation analysis of the variables revealed a negative relationship between academic stress and health promotion behavior and a positive relationship between university life adaptation and health promotion behavior. The factors affecting the health promotion behavior were the economic level, satisfaction with major, academic stress, and university life adaptation, which explained approximately 37.5% of the total. In conclusion, to increase the health promotion behavior of health-related college students, it is necessary to develop programs that reduce academic stress and improve university life adaptation. In addition, systematic efforts to identify the general characteristics of the subjects are needed.

  • With increasing elderly living with diabetes, health professionals have focused on the relations between behaviors improving health status and life satisfaction. This research attempts to explain the influence of the health promotion behaviors on the life satisfaction of the elderly with diabetes. Also, we are focusing whether there is a mediating effect of depression between health promotion behaviors and life satisfaction of the elderly with diabetes. 685 persons with diabetes over 60 years of age were selected from the data of KLoSA (Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing), administered by The National Institute of Labor in 2006. Life satisfaction was measured by 5 items: health status, economic status, relationship with a spouse, relationship with children, and the quality of life. Health promotion behaviors were measured by 4 items: regular diet, exercise, smoking, and drinking. The mediating variable is the depression measured by CES-D10. As the method of analysis, the multiple regressions were used with SPSS 12.0. The result of the study shows that the health promotion behaviors have a positive influence on life satisfaction and a negative influence on depression. It was also verified that the depression variable has a partial mediating effect between health promotion behaviors and life satisfaction. These results present the importance of integrated (physical, psychological, and social) approach for the health promotion experts intervening with the elderly with diabetes.

  • NHIS claimed for damages to doctors that by doing the treatment breaching medical insurance criteria caused by doctors, NHIS paid for medicine cost to pharmacy; as a result, the doctors caused the tort to NHIS. Following consecutive rulings afterwards, NHIS also argued that the medicine cost violating medical law or medical treatment expense paid to medical organizations are both the tort in civil law. NHIS claimed for all the damages, and the Supreme Court confirmed this judgment. However, within our national health insurance system, the subject of insurance payment is NHIS and the subject of medical treatment expense are also NHIS since the treatment expense is also insurance payment by asking the treatment to medical organizations. Further, national health insurance law is not made to control the violation of medical treatment cases; therefore, the breach of medical law cannot be covered by illegality of tort in civil law regarding NHIS. If that is the case, in the case that if the patients are treated according to treatment criteria via the doctors delegated the doctors' permission by Health and Welfare minister, NHIS acquired the benefits to remove the duty to give treatment payment to doctors in civil law; thus, even though the doctors have breached the medical law, NHIS does not have any damages. The fact that supreme court confirmed the ruling that the treatment is the tort in civil law towards NHIS is the judgment not counting the benefits of insurance payment as the subject but only considering the fact that NHIS paid to the doctors and this ruling have gone against the principle under civil code section 750. If the doctors have breached the medical law, the case should be sanctioned by medical law not national health insurance law, and the ruling of supreme court is assumed that they have confused both with the principle of national health insurance law and civil law.

  • This study aimed to examine the multiple factors to affect the health conservation in the middle aged women. The subjects were 143 middle aged women from 40 to 59 years old and the data collection period was from June 1 to 25, 2016. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. We found a significantly positive association between health conservation and health promotion behaviors among middle-aged women. However, menopausal symptoms and wisdom were not significantly associated with health conservation. Stepwise multiple regression analysis was performed to analyze the most correlation variables were health enhancement behaviors with 12.5% and existence of spouse with 3.2%. This study provides more ensured fundamental data for the health conservation and enhancement in the middle aged women.
