  • This study aimed to identify the effects of adolescents' self-perceived health on their life satisfaction and verify the mediating effects of the relationship between the two factors. The analysis was conducted using the Korean Children and Youth Panel Study (KCYPS, Ed. 6), and the results are as follows. In terms of the factors, the mean value of the adolescents' self-perceived health was 3.13, which was regarded as a moderate level, while the values of life satisfaction and self-esteem were 2.80 and 2.90, respectively, which were regarded as low levels. An analysis of the study model showed that the adolescents' self-perceived health affected their life satisfaction, and self-esteem played a meditating role in such a relationship. In other words, a higher level of self-perceived health would help improve self-esteem, which would promote a level of life-satisfaction. Therefore, this study has implications that healthcare or psychological/ emotional resources have been identified to influence adolescents' life satisfaction. Furthermore, multidimensional interventions are needed to reinforce the individuals' psychological and develop emotional resources in healthcare or welfare fields. Moreover, efforts are needed to enhance the adolescents' self-perceived health that would affect their life satisfaction.

As a result of the study, in the feeling less stressed group, household income level, education level, frequency of dinning out, drinking amount at a time, smoking, subjective health, and depression were found to be significant influencing factors, and the explanatory power was 21.4% (p < .001). In the feeling a lot stressed group, household income level, education level, living with a spouse, weekly breakfast frequency, aerobic physical activity, smoking, subjective health, and depression were significant influencing factors, and the explanatory power was 38.7% (p < .001). • This study was conducted to examine the correlations between fatigue, health perception, happiness, and health promoting behaviors, and to identify the influencing factors on health promoting behaviors of clinical nurses in two general hospitals. Data were collected from 153 clinical nurses from February 5 to March 30, 2018. Data were collected through personal interviews using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Fatigue according to the general characteristics showed significant differences in drinking and job stress. Health perception according to the general characteristics showed significant differences in disease. Happiness according to the general characteristics showed significant differences in marital status, type of work, clinical career, nursing unit satisfaction, economic level, and job stress. Health promoting behavior according to the general characteristics showed significant differences in clinical career and economic level. Health promoting behaviors showed significant positive correlations with health perception and happiness, but a significantly negative correlation with fatigue. Happiness and economic level, which accounted for 24% of the variance, were significant predictors influencing health promoting behavior in clinical nurses. To improve health promoting behavior in clinical nurses, it is necessary to develop a program that can raise the happiness considering the economic level.

  • This study analyzed the health risk behavior of Korean college students by comparing them based on the college location (Seoul vs. non-Seoul). Converging analyses of health risk behaviors (drinking behavior, sex, suicidality) and health risk factors (mental health, stress) were attempted. The results showed the 23% of students were at risk of serious drinking problem, and the 52.6% of students consumed alcohol once in every other week or more often. In case of the sexual behavior, 40.6% had sexual experience. Importantly, the 25.4% and the 20.3% of college students in Seoul and non-Seoul area, respectively, had two or more sexual partners. Also, students in non-Seoul area had a tendency of the higher level of suicidality, and the lower level of mental health. Overall, the self-respect score was the only statistically significant factor showing the Seoul/non-Seoul difference. These results may be able to intervene the health risk behaviors of college students.

  • This study was conducted to provide data for the development of foods suitable for the level of oral health by analyzing the consumption of elderly-friendly foods according to the oral health status of the elderly. Using data from the health questionnaire, oral examination, and nutrition survey of the 7th National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the oral health status and nutritional intake status of the elderly by each stage of elderly-friendly foods were analyzed, and a complex sample analysis method was applied. The elderly who mainly consume stage 3 elderly-friendly foods appear to have very poor oral health and nutritional status. Therefore, when developing elderly-friendly foods, it is necessary to develop various foods and provide systematic education considering the oral health status of the elderly and appropriate nutrients.
