최근, 산업의 발달로 인하여 생활수준이 향상되어 대량생산과 대량소비현상이 발생하고 도시의 밀집도가 높아 단위 면적당 거주하는 인구가 증가되면서 거주지역에서 발생되는 부산물이 현저히 증가되어 환경측면에서 복합적인 환경문제에 직면해 있다. 최근까지 대책마련에 고심하고 있는 도시에서 발생된 다량의 쓰레기 처리문제는 경제적인 측면에서 몇 년 전 까지는 대부분을 매립에 의존해 왔으나, 매립 방식에 의존하였으나 지가 및 공사설비의 상승, 일부 비위생적으로 조성된 매립장에서 배출되는 침출수 및 악취 등의 환경오염이 심각한 사회문제로 대두되면서 매립장의 확보나 증설은 해당 지역주민의 반발로 지방자치단체의 골치 아픈 과제로 등장하였다. 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위해, 최근에는 매립지 확보의 어려움과 환경보존을 위하여 쓰레기를 정적이고 위생적으로 처리하기 위하여, 소각시설이 표 1과 같이 증가하고 있으나 소각 때 발생하는 다이옥신 등 인체에 치명적인 오염을 유발시키기 때문에 소각로 건설에 대한 환경운동단체와 주민들의 반발이 거세게 제기되고 있는 현실이다. 이러한 영향에 의해 앞으로는 소각보다는 쓰레기 자체를 감량.재사용.재활용하는 처리방식이 표 1과 같이 증가되는 현실이다. 쓰레기를 소각하는 것은 제 2오염을 유발시키고, 소각장 건설비용과 유지관리에 많은 예산이 소요된다. 쓰레기소각장을 건설할 때, 인근주민이나 환경단체로부터 반대의견에 직면하게 되는데, 그 사유는 쓰레기 처리과정의 전 단계인 반입.공급 과정에서 악취발생과, 후단계인 소각설비에서 발생되는 배출가스 오염원을 완전히 제거하라는 것이다. 최근에는 소각장의 설계.시공과정에서 최대한 악취발생과 확산을 억제하는 시설에 투자를 하고 있으며, 또한 주민 편익 시설과 부대 복리 후생시설은 소각시설 주변지역 주민틀의 소각시설에 대한 부정적 이미지를 불식시키며, 외부 방문객이나 운영 관리 요원들에게 쾌적한 환경조성과 업무효율 및 근무환경의 개선에 일익을 담당하고 있다. 본 고는 환경 친화적인 쓰레기 소각장을 설계하는 측면에서 1998년도에 턴키방식으로 발주되었고 2001년 12월에 준공하여 운전하고 있는 경기도 구리시 자원회수시설의 환기설비에 적용된 설계 및 시공개념을 소개하고자 한다.

This study is on the spatial composition of accommodation area in accommodation barge. The accommodation barge which is used as living facilities for offshore plants' workers can be classified into Accommodation Work Barge, Accommodation Pipe Lay Barge and Multi-purpose Accommodation Barge. We study on the spatial composition of accommodation area in Accommodation Work Barge, most frequently used, through analyzing G.A drawings of the barges. The spatial composition has great influences into the convenience and amenity for workers' daily life in the accommodation area of accommodation barge. The spatial composition of accommodation area shows many characteristics not in horizontal arrangement on any deck but in vertical space arrangement on layers of decks. The particular types of vertical space composition can be classified into 'Centralized Type' and 'Dispersive Type'. These two types will be the basis of space planning for new accommodation barge.

본 연구는 관광경기 침제현상으로 지역 전체가 몸살을 앍고 있는 수안보온천의 현재의 단계를 관광지 라이프사이클 모델에 근거하여 진단하고 이에 따른 활성화 방안을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 수안보온천은 관광지 라이프사이클에 따르면 1998년 이래로 관광시장의 축소, 편의시설의 소명, 주말 및 당일 체류관광객의 증가 등의 관광지 쇠퇴단계의 지표가 나타나고 있다. 쇠퇴단계에 이른 수안보온천의 가장 큰 문제점은 관광 편의시설물의 노후화와 자본이 부족하다. 이러한 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 방안에는 다음 세가지가 있다. 첫째는 기존 시설물을 일부만 변경하며 노년층의 영구 거주지로 분양하는 것이다. 둘째는 방치괸 야외무대장을 주말 상설놀이마당으로 활용하고, 섯째는 수안보온천 관광호텔 자리에 있는 냉천을 약수로 개발하여 관광자원화하는 것이다.

This study compared preadolescent communication skills and quality of peer relationships by institutionalization, sex, and age and tested the correlation between communication skills and quality of peer relationships. The subjects were 98 institutionalized and 115 homereared preadolescents. Interviews measured the communication skills of persuasive, comforting, and listener-adapted abilities. The quality of peer relationships was investigated through questionnaires consisting of both positive and negative factors. The data were analyzed by SPSS. Differences were found between institutionalized and homereared subjects in quality of peer relationships and in communication skills by sex, and age. There was a positive correlation between communication skills and quality of peer relationships.

The purpose of this study was to analyze environment-behavior concepts included in environmental design characteristics of facilities for elderly with dementia. Major method was contents analysis of actual environmental designs. For comparison between the environment-behavior concepts and actual cases, an analytical framework was developed. Eleven cases of facilities designed for people with dementia were analyzed. Those were published ones in periodicals in USA. The analytical data used included floor plans, texts, and visual materials including photographs. Under the framework for analysis, a total of 296 criteria were used to analyze the actual cases of environmental design. This study was expected to offer a knowledge base for better environmental design for elderly with dementia and to help establish guidelines for designing such facilities which can meet the cultural characteristics and traditional conditions of Korea.

This study examined the vocabulary competence of institutionalized and home-reared 6- and 7-year-old children with the use of the Revised Picture Vocabulary Test(Dunn & Dunn, 1981; Korean version, Kim et al., 1995), administered to 113 institutionalized children and 124 middle class home-reared children. Results indicated that the vocabulary competence of institutionalized children was inferior to that of home-reared children. Children who had lived in an institution for two years or more scored lower than those who had been institutionalized for a shorter time. 7-year-olds scored higher than 6-year-olds, regardless of institutionalization. Home-reared girls scored higher than home-reared boys, but there was no sex difference between institutionalized children. These findings suggest that efforts should be directed toward improving the linguistic environment of institutionalized children.

The elder population is growing rapidly in Korea nowadays. Therefore, a demand for adaptable installation standard of residential space for the elderly is increasing with growth of the elder population. This study analyzed actual state by interviewing manager, surveying actual measurement and using draft of Elderly nursing facility which is for senile patients. As a result of the survey for size and facilities, facilities for elderly safety, accommodation per a person and room size per a person are below to standard. Therefore, establishing adaptable design standard is needed which is to make safe and fresh living environment for the elderly.

A lot of nursing facility expansions are needed by rapidly growing elder population and operating long-term nursing act for the elderly from July, 2008. To supply facilities in a short period, government is considering a method which is converting usage of existed building to nursing facility. Therefore, we took actual state analysis by interviewing manager, surveying actual measurement and using draft among the converted facilities. To improve and encourage those living environments of nursing facilities, we need to establish design standard of adaptable facility.

With its rapid modernization and unparalleled speed of aging, South Korea faces the need for dramatic increase in its supply of nursing homes. Among the spacial components of nursing homes, residential units are considered as an essential part because the older person in nursing homes usually spend most of their time in residential units and the nursing homes are mainly composed of various residential units. It is necessary, therefore, to prepare a guideline for the plan of residential units in order to design the healthy and efficient nursing homes. This paper has first identified the concept of residential unit and analyzed 66 cases in the 62 nursing homes from 4 countries. And 4 nursing homes in Korea have been surveyed for the in-depth study. On the basis of this analysis, architectural prototypes of residential units have been proposed and the architectural characteristics of them have been compared analytically.
