Clinical Effectiveness of Upper Extremity Performances on Mirror Therapy for Adult with Post Stroke Hemiplegia: A Systematic Review (뇌졸중으로 인한 편마비 환자의 상지기능 향상을 위한 거울치료의 임상적 효과에 대한 체계적 고찰)

  • Objective: To illustrate effects and application potential of Mirror Therapy (MT) for patients with post-stroke hemiplegia. Method: With reference to 9 journals (published Jan.2005-Jan.2016) on Pubmed, selected based on in/exclusion standards. Result: Simple wrist/hand movements and task-based MT were used as intervention methods to examine the effects. Tools used to assess intervention effects included upper limb functioning, Activities of Daily Living (ADL), physical condition and quality of life. Upper limb functioning turned out to have significance for ADL with higher effectiveness at the distal than the proximal region. Yet the quality of life disparity between the experiment group and the control was not found to be significant. Conclusion: We believe that research can aid clinical therapists in applying MT accordingly to individual patient characteristics. Despite prolonged difficulty in confirming efficient application due to varied protocols, development of systemized treatment protocols for maximization of MT's effectiveness remains necessary.

  • 적은 연산으로 정확한 정합점을 추출한다는 것은 고전적인 스테레오비전의 가장 큰 단점이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 효과적인 정합점 검출 알고리듬이 많이 연구되고 있으나, 뚜렷한 해결 방법은 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 위와 같은 문제점들을 해결 할 수 있는 거울을 이용한 스테레오 비전 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 보다 저렴한 가격으로 스테레오 시스템을 구추할 수 있으며, 한 대의 카메라만을 사용하기 때문에 칼리브레이션 과정을 간략화 할 수 있다. 거울에 반사된 오른쪽과 왼쪽 영상은 거울의 각도에 의해서 동일 이미지 평면의 좌우에 촬상이 된다. 같은 이미지 평면에 촬상된 두 영상의 epipolar line은 x축과 평행한 scan line을 갖는다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템은 정합점을 추출하기 위한 epipolar 검출 알고리듬이 필요하지 않고 한 대의 카메라만을 사용하기 때문에 칼리브레이션 과정을 간략화 할 수 있다. 또한 동일한 이미지 평면에 오른쪽 이미지와 왼쪽 이미지가 촬상되기 때문에 두 영상의 명암도 차이를 보정하기 위한 정규화 작업도 필요하지 않다. 위와 같은 장점은 고전적인 스테레오 비전에서 발생되는 문제점들을 효과적으로 보완한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 시스템에 대한 프로토타입을 제작하여 실험하였으며, 그 결과를 제시하였다.

Analysis of AIGaAs/GaAs Depleted Optical Thyristor using bottom mirror (하부 거울층을 이용한 AIGaAs/GaAs 완전 공핍 광 싸이리스터 특성 분석)

  • We fabricate and analyze fully depleted optical thyristors (DOTs) using quarter wavelength reflector stacks (QWRS). QWRS are employed as bottom mirrors to enhance the emission efficiency as well as the optical sensitivity. In order to analyze their switching characteristics, S-shape nonlinear current-voltage curves are simulated and the reverse full-depletion voltages (Vneg's) of DOTs are obtained as function of semiconductor parameters by using a finite difference method (FDM). The fabricated DOTs show sufficient nonlinear s-shape I-V characteristics and switching voltage changes of these devices with and without bottom mirrors show 1.82 V and 1.52 V, respectively. Compared to a conventional DOT, this device with the bottom mirrors shows about 20% and 46% enhancement in switching voltage change and spontaneous emission efficiency, respectively.

  • The fiber laser was fabricated using Nd doped single mode fiber. The fiber was made by MCVD and solution doping method, and the Fabry-Perot resonator was composed with two dichroic mirrors. It was operated at 1.096 um with 15 nm bandwidth. When the reflectivity of the output copuling mirror was 67.5%. the maxiurn output power 1.88 mw and its slope efficiency 1.28%. was obtained.

  • 본 논문은 유리 기판과 실리콘 기판의 양극접합과 CMP공정을 통하여 정전기력으로 구동되는 마이크로 비틀림 액추에이터를 제작하고 이 제작된 액추에이터의 성능을 개선하는 방법과 실험에 관한 것이다. 이 비틀림 액추에이터는 미소 거울로 사용하기 위해 제작하였다. 미소 거울은 영상을 정확히 반사하거나 회절 시키는 것이 목적이지만 MEMS 공정의 특성 문제로 인해 일관적인 성능을 나타내는 것이 비교적 힘들다. 따라서 이를 개선하기 위해선 구조적인 접근 보다 실제 구동될 때의 현상을 보상하는 것이 필요하다. 일정한 입력전압에 비례하는 미소 거울의 변위를 알고 이를 기준으로 하여 시스템을 구동하여야 한다. 여기서 인가되는 전압에 비례하는 변위가 정확한지 측정을 해야 하고 만약 오차가 있다면 이를 개선하여야 한다. 또한 구동 시 발생하는 overshoot 현상과 작은 떨림 현상을 줄이고 빠른 시간 내에 응답하도록 시스템을 보상하여야 한다. 본 논문에선 PID 제어기법을 사용하여 $0.5^{\circ}$의 각도로 구동할 때를 기준으로 이 때의 구동전압 200V를 인가하고 오차를 측정하여 시스템을 보상하였다.

  • In this paper we propose a wearable elbow rehabilitation robot applied the mirror therapy for elbow rehabilitation. To implement the mirror therapy, a data suit for measuring healthy elbow motion is developed. A powered elbow exoskeleton wearing in paralyzed arm is controlled by the measured data from the healthy elbow motion. In experiments, the elbow rehabilitation exercise by the mirror therapy is performed. From the experimental results we show the wearable exercise robot including the data suit is applicable to the mirror therapy for elbow rehabilitation.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of task-oriented mirror therapy involve visual illusion on upper extremity functions in stroke patients. Method : We divided into two groups that task-oriented mirror therapeutic exercise program include visual illusion and not include. In order to determine the change in upper extremity function, Box & Block Test and Line-bisection Test was evaluated each time period. Result : The result of this study that we found out that all participation's upper extremity function had been improved during the intervention and sustained during baseline regression. Applying mirror therapy program include visual illusion group more improved trend line during the intervention, visual illusion group, it had been shown there are higher difference between visual illusion group and non-visual illusion group in upper extremity functions. Conclusion : It is thoughtful that task-oriented mirror therapy could help for stroke. It might be more effectiveness to apply who have exercise program include visual illusion.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the effect that muscle activity of upper extremity and functional test in the case of the stroke patient by using the feedback mirror therapy. Sixteen subjects were recruited and randomly divided into two groups. one group was trained feedback mirror therapy and other group was action observation training. This process was carried out five times a week for eight weeks. To upper extremity test was used to MFT, FMA and in order to test UT, DM, BB, FCR, ECRL used to muscle activity. After the training, exclude FCR an upper extremity motor function of target showed significant difference between two groups and especially an experimental group showed significant muscle activity and MFT, FMA score improvement of UT, DM, BB, ECRL. Therefore, feedback mirror therapy is more upper extremity motor function and muscle activity improvement effect than action observation training.

Dielectric Thin Film Mirror Embedded Optical Fiber Couplers (유전체 박막 거울 내장형 광섬유 결합기)

  • Dielectric thin film mirrors are embedded in multimode and single-mode fibers by a fusion splicing technique. The fibers with $45{\circ}$ angled embedded mirrors serve as ultra-compact directional couplers with low excess optical loss of 0.2 dB for multimode and 0.5 dB for single mode at 1.3 ${\mu}m$ and excellent mechanical properties. The reflectance is wavelength dependent and strongly polarization depencient. Far-field scans of the reflected output power measured with a white-light source show a pattern which is almost circularly symmetric with aspect ratio of 1.09 at 5% of the peak power. The splitting ratio in a multimode coupler measured with a diode laser source is much less dependent on input coupling conditions than in conventional fused biconical-taper couplers, indicating that these couplers are less susceptible to modal noise occuring in optical fiber communication systems. Spectral properties of multilayer internal mirrors normal to the fiber axis have been investigated experimentally, and a matrix analysis has been used to explain the results.

  • Liquid chromatographic enantiomer separation of N-tert-butoxycarbonyl (BOC) $\alpha$-amino acids and their ethyl esters was performed on covalently immobilized chiral column (Chiralpak IC) derived from polysaccharide derivative. The solvent versatility of the covalently immobilized Chiralpak IC in enantiomer separation of N-BOC $\alpha$-amino acid ethyl ester derivatives was shown and the chromatographic parameters of their enantioselectivities and resolution factors were greatly influenced by the nature of the mobile phase. Also the effect on the dissolving solvent for these analytes on the enantiomer separation using the same mobile phase and the examples of preparative enantiomer separation on analytical column were shown.
