  • 다양한 종류의 컴퓨터가 사람, 사물, 환경 속에 내재되어 있고, 이들이 서로 연결되어, 필요한 곳에서 활용할 수 있는 유비쿼터스 환경에서는 홈 네트워크를 통해 이 기종 기기간 다양한 데이터 교환을 요구한다. 더욱이 원활한 영상 데이터의 처리, 전송, 모니터링 기술은 핵심적 요소가 아닐 수 없다. 공간 및 시간적인 해상도, 컬러의 표현 그리고 화질의 측정방법 등 고전적 영상 처리 연구 분야뿐만 아니라 국한된 대역폭을 갖는 홈네트워크의 전송체계에서 전송률 문제에 대한 심도 있는 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 홈네트워크 상황에서 콘텐츠의 중심이 되는 영상 데이터의 전송과 처리 그리고 제어를 위하여 새로운 움직임 추정 알고리즘을 제안한다. 각도, 거리등 다양한 환경에서 전송되어지는 스테레오 카메라의 영상데이터들은 축소, 확대, 이동, 보정 등 전처리 후 제안된 변형계층 모션벡터 추정 알고리즘을 이용하여 압축 처리, 전송된다. 기존 모션벡터 추정 알고리즘의 장점을 계승하고 단점을 보완한 변형계층 알고리즘은 비정형, 소형 매크로 블록을 이용하여 휘도의 편차가 큰 영상의 효율적 움직임 추정에 이용된다. 본 논문에서 제안한 변형계층 알고리즘과 이를 이용해 구현된 영상시스템은 유비쿼터스 환경에서 다양하게 활용될 수 있다.

  • This paper presents an absolute position estimation method using Indian remote sensing (IRS) satellite images, which is a part of a position estimation (PE) system. The accumulated buffer (AB) matching method is proposed, in which a set of accumulator cells is employed for fast edge-based matching. By computer simulations with two sets of veal aerial image sequences, the performance of the AB matching method is analyzed and its effectiveness is shown in terms of the position error in the hybrid PE system.

  • Flight recoder is used to analyze the accident factors and prevent the accident. In the analysis of the flight recorder, the most important factor is how to estimate the precise location of the flight. Traditional aviation navigation is based on stable sensors such as DME and VOR. In order to enhance the precision of the location estimation, the integrated navigation algorithm is designed to incorporate DME, Air data sensors and INS(Inertial Navigation System). The results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can achieve better accuracy, comparing with the traditional navigation schemes, in flight location estimation.

  • Incorrect ambiguity integer of GPS make a large error on attitude determination. In this paper one method is suggested for estimating the multipath of GPS carrier measurement while attitude determination. The multi-antenna system consists of 4 antennas have the same clock error help to make attitude determination effectively. If the distance between antennas is a half wavelength, it is not necessary to search the ambiguity integer and the multipath of GPS carrier measurement can be estimated. The results of the simulation are shown and analyzed.

  • In this paper, we propose the localization method of mobile robot using SURF(Speeded-Up Robust Features) and Particle filter. The proposed method is as follows: First, we seek the Landmark from the obtained image using SURF in order to find the first rigorous position of mobile robot. Second, we obtain the distance from obstacles using ultrasonic sensors in order to create the relative position of mobile robot. And then, we estimate the localization of mobile robot using Particle filter about movement of mobile robot. Finally, we show the feasibility of the proposed method through some experiments.

  • It is necessary to estimate the Doppler spectrum for each range cell for the extraction of useful information from the return echoes in radar systems used for the remote sending purpose. However, The conventional spectrum estimation method, FFT(Fast Fourier Transform), called the Doppler filter bank, causes the frequency resolution problem if the dwell time is relatively short. This short acquisition time also spreads the side lobe levels of return echoes further, resulting in difficulties for the discrimination of weak target signals included in relatively strong target echoes. Therefore, in this paper, the efficient Doppler spectrum estimation methods are compared and investigated through the parameter spectrum estimation in the time domain to overcome these problems.

  • This paper investigates some critical errors influencing travel demand estimation in Korea Transportation Data Base (KTDB), and through this investigation reasonable traffic analysis zone (TAZ) size and internal trips ratio are analyzed. With varying zone size, the accuracy of travel demand estimation is studied and appropriate level of zone size in KTDB is also presented. For this purpose zonal structure consisting of location of zone centroid, number of centroid connecters has been constructed by social economic index, and then some descriptive statistical analyses such as F-test, coefficient of correlation are performed. From the results, this paper shows that the optimum levels of zone system were various according to the order and capacity of roads, and also shows that the smaller TAZ, the less error in this research. In conclusion, in order to improve accuracy of traffic demand estimation it is necessary to make zone size smaller.

An Iterative Approach to the Estimation of CO2 Abatement Costs (방향성 벡터 일반화를 통한 이산화탄소의 한계저감비용 연구)

  • This study proposes an iterative approach to the estimation of the marginal abatement costs of undesirable outputs by computing the slope of the efficient production possibilities frontier on the basis of the efficient projection points generated by the directional output distance function approach due to Fare et al. (2005) based on duality theory. In case of the latter methodology, the estimated marginal abatement costs differ significantly depending on the choice of the directional output vector. In addition, depending on the curvature of the underlying PPF the efficient projection points may be located at a significant distance away from their actually observed counterparts. While it would be more logical to estimate marginal abatement costs as a PPF slope at a point corresponding to the actually observed emissions level, the methodology based on duality theory is likely to produce unstable results due to the problems associated with applying the theorem of implicit function differentiation. Since our methodology is not based on duality theory, our results are immune to both of these problems. We apply our methodology to a sample of Western European countries for the period of 1995-2011 to illustrate our approach.

Genetic Evaluation of Thoroughbred Racehorses Using the Integrated Racing Records Collected from Different Racetracks (과천.부산경남 경마공원의 통합경주자료를 이용한 더러브렛 경주마의 유전능력 평가)

  • The objective of this study was to examine the suitability of genetic evaluation models using the integrated racing records collected from Gwacheon and Busan Gyeongnam racetracks. Results obtained are summarized as follows: In the short-distance races of 1,400 meters and less the records of finishing time at Gwacheon racetrack was superior, whereas, in the races of 1,800 meters and more it was superior in the records from Busan Gyeongnam racetrack. The effects of contemporary groups accounted for 42.7~70.2% of the total variation, and the effects of the individual race considering racing classes was the biggest in all racing distances. Heritabilities and repeatabilities for the finishing time were estimated in the range of 0.153-0.238 and 0.401-0.498, respectively. Correlation coefficients between the breeding values estimated from the integrated records and the breeding values estimated from records of Gwacheon and Busan-Gyeongnam were 0.907 and 0.803, and coefficients of rank correlations were 0.891 and 0.846, respectively. The correlation coefficients between sire's annual earning of the integrated records and Gwacheon and Busan Gyeongnam racetracks records were 0.943 and 0.886, and coefficients of rank correlations were 0.938 and 0.853, respectively. Also, the correlation coefficient of sire's annual earning between Gwacheon and Busan Gyeongnam racetracks was 0.742. The results of this analysis indicate that the genetic evaluation using the integrated racing records are reliable when the racing records from Busan Gyeongnam racetracks are stabilized and more data are accumulated.

Estimation and Weighting of Sub-band Reliability for Multi-band Speech Recognition (다중대역 음성인식을 위한 부대역 신뢰도의 추정 및 가중)

  • Recently, based on the human speech recognition (HSR) model of Fletcher, the multi-band speech recognition has been intensively studied by many researchers. As a new automatic speech recognition (ASR) technique, the multi-band speech recognition splits the frequency domain into several sub-bands and recognizes each sub-band independently. The likelihood scores of sub-bands are weighted according to reliabilities of sub-bands and re-combined to make a final decision. This approach is known to be robust under noisy environments. When the noise is stationary a sub-band SNR can be estimated using the noise information in non-speech interval. However, if the noise is non-stationary it is not feasible to obtain the sub-band SNR. This paper proposes the inverse sub-band distance (ISD) weighting, where a distance of each sub-band is calculated by a stochastic matching of input feature vectors and hidden Markov models. The inverse distance is used as a sub-band weight. Experiments on 1500∼1800㎐ band-limited white noise and classical guitar sound revealed that the proposed method could represent the sub-band reliability effectively and improve the performance under both stationary and non-stationary band-limited noise environments.
