Priming Effects of Disaster-related TV News: Focusing on the Interactions of Geographical and Psychological Distance (재난 뉴스의 점화 효과: 지리적·심리적 거리의 상호작용을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the priming effects of disaster-related news. Specifically, this study aimed to examine the priming effects about trauma words and neutral words according to the geographical and psychological distance from the disaster. The participants in this study were 75 college students who had not experienced the Daegu subway fire accident, and whom were not ruled out after completing the screening measure completing the screening measure the completion of questionnaires for screening. All participants conducted a lexical decision task after watching a news video about the Daegu subway fire accident. The design was a 2 (Geographical distance: close vs. distant) × 2 (Psychological distance: close vs. distant) × 2 (Priming type: trauma priming vs. neutral priming) mixed-design. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, the group which was geographically closer to the disaster tended to revealed a largerbigger priming effect than the distant group-a trend toward significance. Second, within the psychologically closer to the disaster, group, for those who were geographically closer too, the priming effect was larger for those who were geographically closer geographically closer than for the geographically distant group. Third, the geographically closer group had a largerbigger neutral priming effect than the distant group. Fourth, the psychologically distant group had a largerbigger neutral priming effect than the close group. To sum up, this study identified that disaster news coverage may have an implicit effect on people, and this influence can change according to the geographical and psychological distance. Finally, this study discussed the limitations of the study and recommendations for further research.

  • This paper is mainly concerned with the assessment of safe navigation between ships moving each other in restricted waterways. The manoeuvring simulation was conducted parametrically to propose an appropriate sage speed and distance, which is required to avoid sea accident under the different conditions, such as ship-velocity ratios, ship-length ratios, separation and stagger between ships. The manoeuvring characteristics based on this investigation will be very useful for keeping the safety of navigation from the practical point of ships design and traffic control in confined water.

Extraction of Facial Feature Component using Section Segmentation of Block-units (블록단위 영역분할을 이용한 얼굴 특징 요소 추출)

  • 본 논문에서는 얼굴의 특징 추출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 입력 영상을 이진 영상으로 처리한 후, 얼굴 요소 후보 블록의 면적, 둘레, 원형도, 종횡비를 이용하여 불변하는 눈, 코, 입의 특징 요소를 추출한다. 사람의 얼굴에 대한 특징 요소를 추출하기 위하여 우선 이진 영상을 생성한다. 하나 하나의 고립된 영역으로 분리하기 위하여 화소 레이블링을 한 후 만들어진 얼굴 요소 후보 블록 단위로 면적을 구하고, 윤곽선 추적 방법에 의하여 둘레를 구한 다음 면적, 둘레, 원형도 및 종횡비의 유사도를 구한다 블록의 종합 유사도, 대칭적 거리, 위치의 유사도를 활용하여 눈, 코, 입을 추출한다. 추출된 각 특징 요소간의 거리와 각도를 이용하여 12개의 특징 인수를 구하는 제안 알고리즘을 수행함으로써 얼굴의 특징 인수들을 추출한다. 각 특징점 사이의 거리와 각 거리간의 기울기를 이용하여 100명으로부터 획득한 297개의 원 영상을 대상으로 12개의 특징 파라미터를 추출한 결과 92.93%의 추출 성공률을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 외부 환경의 영향을 덜 받는 눈, 코, 입의 위치 관계의 블록을 근거로 특징 요소를 추출할 수 있도록 제안 알고리즘을 구성하였던 것으로 판단된다.

NSOM 장치의 제작 및 광특성 연구

  • 100nm 공간 분해능을 갖는 NSOM 장치를 자체 제작하고 computer를 이용하여 측정을 자동화 하였다. 압전소자의 인가된 전압에 대한 이동거리를 x, y, z 축에 따라 측정 및 보정하고 NSOM topography 사진을 얻는데 성공하였다. 이때 이동거리는 x, y 축은 약 20nm/V이고, z 축은 2.5nm/V 이었다. 하지만 압전소자의 인가된 전압에 따른 이동거리의 비선형성에 대한 보정 및 feedback 제어의 안정화 등은 앞으로 해결해야할 문제로 남아 있다. 자체제작된 NSOM을 이용하여 GaAs/AlGaAs MQWs와 InAs/GaAs QDs 시료에 대한 PL, photocurrent 및 reflectance 등 분광 실험을 성공적으로 수행하였다. PL 실험의 경우 첨예한 광 섬유에 보내진 레이저 광의 세기가 매우 미약하기 (수십 nW) 때문에 탐침 크기가 약 500nm 일 때 측정되었다. 하지만 photocurrent 실험에서는 시료를 검출기로 사용하기 때문에 신호대 잡음비가 PL에 비하여 100배 이상 좋아지는 것을 발견하였다. 따라서 NSOM을 이용한 photocurrent 방법은 앞으로 NSOM의 공간 분해능을 높이는데 하나의 돌파구를 마련해 줄 것으로 기대된다.

  • Snow, rain, fog, and particulate matter interfere with the vehicle driver's vision, which causes a non-secure safety distance and an increase in speed deviation, causing repetitive large-scale traffic accidents. This study developed a road environment sensor capable of measuring 11 types of fog, snow, rain, temperature, humidity, direction of wind, speed of wind, Insolation, atmospheric pressure, fine particles, rainfall, etc. and compared the visibility measured by the infrared signal value of the development sensor. The relationship between the existing fog visibility sensor and the development sensor measurement was derived from data measured at a visibility of 500m or less that directly affects road safety.

  • This study analyses the historical and cultural streets at Pinggang Road in the city of Suzhou, by understanding the development and conservation of the area, and uses the following ways to investigate its development, re-organization, and current state. This paper comprehensively compares, collates and investigates 4 different historical and cultural areas in Insadong and Samcheong-dong in South Korea, and South Luogu Lane in China. From initial research and analysis, this paper gathers the cultural, economic, and societal perspectives as non-physical measures, and spatial structure, road structure, and building maintenance as physical factor framework. It is significant in that it can provide an evaluation model for the preservation and regeneration of historical and cultural streets by presenting the viewpoint of complex development of non-physical and physical elements in Pyeonggang-ro. In addition, it is necessary to conduct optimization and specific research on insufficient areas, such as maintenance and development of programs and signature systems for visitors, and continuous development of historical and cultural network platforms by combining on-site surveys. Basic data should be provided for reference on the street.

A Comparison on the Positioning Accuracy from Different Filtering Strategies in IMU/Ranging System (IMU/Range 시스템의 필터링기법별 위치정확도 비교 연구)

  • The precision of sensors' position is particularly important in the application of road extraction or digital map generation. In general, the various ranging solution systems such as GPS, Total Station, and Laser Ranger have been employed for the position of the sensor. Basically, the ranging solution system has problems that the signal may be blocked or degraded by various environmental circumstances and has low temporal resolution. To overcome those limitations a IMU/range integrated system could be introduced. In this paper, after pointing out the limitation of extended Kalman filter which has been used for workhorse in navigation and geodetic community, the two sampling based nonlinear filters which are sigma point Kalman filter using nonlinear transformation and carefully chosen sigma points and particle filter using the non-gaussian assumption are implemented and compared with extended Kalman filter in a simulation test. For the ranging solution system, the GPS and Total station was selected and the three levels of IMUs(IMU400C, HG1700, LN100) are chosen for the simulation. For all ranging solution system and IMUs the sampling based nonlinear filter yield improved position result and it is more noticeable that the superiority of nonlinear filter in low temporal resolution such as 5 sec. Therefore, it is recommended to apply non-linear filter to determine the sensor's position with low degree position sensors.

Performance of a 3-Dimensional Signal Transmission System (3차원 신호 전송시스템의 성능)

  • In this paper, a system model for transmission of 3-dimensional (3-D) signals is presented and its performance is analyzed. Unlike 2-D signals, no quadrature form expression for the 3-D signals is available. Exploiting a set of orthogonal basis functions, the 3-D signals are transmitted. As a result of computer simulation using very higher-level signal constellations, the 3-D transmission system has significantly improved error performance as compared with the 2-D system. It is considered that the principal reason for such performance improvement is much increased minimum Euclidean distance (MED) of the 3-D lattice constellations compared with the corresponding 2-D ones. When the MEDs of 2-D and 3-D lattice constellation are compared to confirm the analysis, the MED of 3-D 1024-ary constellation is around 2.6 times larger than that of the quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM). Expanding the constellation size to 4096, the MED of 3-D lattice constellation is increased by 3.2 times of the QAM.

Experimental Study on the Heat Transfer and Turbulent Flow Characteristics of Jet Impinging the Non-isothermal Heating Plate (비균일 온도분포를 갖는 평판에 대한 충돌제트의 열전달 및 난류유동특성에 관한 연구)

  • An experimental study of jet impinging the non-isothermal heating surface with linear temperature gradient is conducted with the presentation of the turbulent flow characteristics and the heat transfer rate, represented by the Nusselt number. The jet Reynolds number ranges from 15,000 to 30,000, the temperature gradient of the plate is 2~4.2$^{\circ}C$/cm and the dimensionless nozzle to plate distance (H/D) is from 2 to 10. The results show that the peak of heat transfer rate occurs at the stagnation point, and the heat transfer rate decreases as the radial distance from the stagnation point increases. A remarkable feature of the heat transfer rate is the existence of the second peak. This is due to the turbulent development of the wall jet. Maximum heat transfer rate occurs when the axial distance from the nozzle to nozzle diameter (H/D) is 6 or 8. The heat transfer rate can be correlated as a power function of Prandtl number, Reynolds number, the dimensionless nozzle to plate distance (H/D) and temperature gradient (dT/dr). It has been found that the heat transfer rate increases with increasing turbulent intensity. The wall jet is influenced by temperature gradient and the effect becomes more important at higher radii.

A Study on Vibration Propagation Characteristics in Tunnel Blasting (터널발파의 진동 전달 특성에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 터널발파 진동의 전달 특성을 규명하기 위하여 네 곳의 도로터널의 '터널내부','터널외부','터널직상부 진행방향', '터널직상부' 진행직각방향'의 네 방향으로 발파진동을 계측하였다. 지발당장약량을 해당 지발당장약량과 최대 지발당장약량으로 구분하였으며, 지반의 진동 전달 특성을 확인하기 위하여 자승근 환산거리와 입방근 환산거리로 회귀분석 하였다. 또한 PPV, 거리별 우세진동수를 구하였다. 터널상부 진행방향의 진동 수준이 가장 크게 나타났으며, 진동의 감쇠도 크게 이루어졌다. 터널내부는 비교적 고주파성분이 우세하였으나 나머지는 일반적인 경향을 보였다 최대 지발당장약량을 적용한 입방근 환산거리의 경우가 거리별 감쇠특성 및 상관성이 다른 비교대상에 비하여 가장 우세하게 나타났다. 따라서 최대 지발당장약량을 적용한 입방근 환산거리 방식으로 설계하는 것이 바람직하다고 판단된다.
