Study on Dynamic Responses of Bridges Using High-speed Railway Vehicle Models (고속전철차량모형화에 따른 교량의 동적거동에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 고속철도에서 차량·교량 구조물의 상호작용을 가능한 정밀하게 취급할 수 있는 3차원 해석모형을 개발하였다. 경부고속철도 교량형식인 PSC 박스거더 교량을 40m 단순 와 25-40-25m 3경간 연속 에 대해 뼈대요소를 사용하여 3차원으로 모형 하였으며, 궤도의 불규칙성은 정상확률과정으로 가정하고, 지수 스펙트럼 밀도함수를 사용하여 궤도의 형상을 생성시켰다. 열차는 경부고속철도 차량 하중효과가 가장 큰 동력차 만을 대상으로 17 자유도 모형과 38 자유도 모형으로 분리하여 개발하였다. 다양한 조건에 대한 분석결과를 검토하면 여러 가지 상황에서 38 자유도 모형의 필수 성이 보여지고 있다. 특히 교량의 솟음 및 장기 처짐에 의한 궤도형상변화가 있는 경우에는 반드시 38 자유도 모형이 적용되어야 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 제동하중이 작용할 때 쏠림 효과에 의한 영향이 큰 것으로 평가되어, 제동에 의한 교량의 동적 거동은 종변 위에 대한 자유 도를 고려할 수 있는 주행차량모형으로 해석되어야 함이 규명되었다.

A Study on the Characteristics of Dynamic Behaviors for Continuous PSC Girder Bridges with Integral Pier Cap (교각일체형 연속 PSC 거더교의 동적거동 특성 연구)

  • Recently, the construction industry has been changed in such a way that the cost for bridge construction should be optimized or reduced. Therefore, bridges are required be cost-effective in terms of initial construction as well as in the maintenance during service stage. In order to reduce the cost for bridge construction, the Rahmen typed structure, in which the bridge components from superstructure to substructure are integral, has many advantages to reduce the size of structural members including girders, since the loadings from superstructure may be transferred to substructure through the connecting rebars such as stud, etc. This paper studied on the continuous Up and Down Prestressed Concrete (UD PSC) girder bridge in which the reinforced concrete pier cap is integral with the part of girders in superstructure. In previous studies, it is known that the structural behavior of continuous UD PSC girder bridge is quite different compared to the one of the bridges with conventional bearings or shoes to support the loading from girders. Nevertheless, it has hardly been studied about the structural behavior of bridge with UD PSC girder. Therefore, in this study, various dynamic behaviors of continuous UD PSC girder bridge with integral pier cap have been analyzed using numerical method. Furthermore, an equation to evaluate the impact factor is suggested for the UD PSC girder bridge which has two to three continuous spans.

Advanced Seismic Retrofit Priority Decision For Seismic Performance Estimation of Existing Bridges (기존 교량의 내진성능평가를 위한 개선된 내진보강 우선순위 결정)

  • Existing bridges are classified into 4 retrofit groups using the current preliminary screening method, considering key terms such as seismicity, vulnerability and social impact effect. However, some irrationality was found when the current method was applied to 442 existing bridges. As a result, it was determined that quantification and a more detailed classification of seismicity were required. The estimation of the vulnerability of box girder bridges having a long span length should be improved, as this showed a tendency to underestimate. It was also necessary to increase the level of social impact effect to that of vulnerability. In this study, an improved preliminary screening method has been proposed on the basis of the estimation results of existing bridges.

Development of Displacement Estimation Technique for Bridges Located under Poor Measurement Circumstances (계측이 어려운 환경에 가설된 교량의 변위 추정 기술 개발)

  • In this paper, to verify the field application of a displacement estimation technique based on the relationship between displacement and strain, static and dynamic field load test are performed on three-span continuous real bridge structures. The superstructure types of the test bridges are IPC girder highway bridge and steel box girder AGT bridge. LVDTs and strain gauges are attached to them; then, the responses due to test vehicle are measured. To obtain the displacement-strain relationship of the test bridges, the bridges are modeled as grillage system with 6 DOFs for the purpose of structural analyses. Static and dynamic displacements, which are estimated using both the calculated displacement-strain relationship and the measured strain signal, agree well with the values measured by LVDT. This study demonstrates that the displacement estimation technique using the strain signal can be effectively applied to the displacement measurement of bridge structures that cross rivers/roads/railways or have high clearance.

Discrete Optimum Design of Sinusoidal Corrugated Web Girder (사인형 주름웨브보의 이산화 최적구조설계)

  • The use of sinusoidal corrugated web girder for the box-type girders and gable steel main frames has recently been increasing very much. The reasons are that the thin web of the girder affords a significant weight reduction compared with rolled beam and welded built-up girder, and that corrugation prevents the buckling failure of the web. Improvements of the automatic fabrication process makes mass production of the corrugated web and unit possible, and applications of this girder have been extended considerably. Thus, the research for the optimum design processer considering the production data is needed practically. For doing this research, we develope the discrete optimum structural design program in consideration of production list data for the research, and the program apply to the single girder under the uniform load and the concentrated load as numerical example. We consider objective function as minimum weight of the girder, and use slenderness ratio, stress of flanges and corrugated web, and the girder deflection as the constraint functions. And also the Genetic Algorithms is adopted to search the global minimum point by using the production list as a discrete design variable. Finally, to verify the optimality of the design, we conduct a comparison of the results of the discrete optimum design with those of the continuous one, and also analyze the characteristics of the optimum cross-section.

Evaluation of Proper Level of the Longitudinal Prestress for the Precast Deck of Railway Bridges Considering the Temperature Change (철도교용 프리케스트 바닥판의 온도변화를 고려한 적정한 종방향 프리스트레스 수준의 산정)

  • Precast concrete deck has many advantages comparing with the in-situ concrete deck, and has been successfully applied to replacement of the deteriorated decks and to the newly constructed highway bridges in domestic region. In order to apply the precast decks into the railway bridges, however, differences of the load characteristics between the highway and the railway should be properly taken into account including the train load, longitudinal force of the continuous welded rail, acceleration or braking force, temperature change and shrinkage. Proper level of the longitudinal prestress of the tendons that can ensure integrity of the transverse joints in the deck system is of a primary importance. To this aim, the longitudinal tensile stresses induced by the design loads are derived using three-dimensional finite element analyses for the frequently adopted PSC composite girder railway bridge. The effect of the temperature change is also investigated considering the design codes and theoretical equations in an in-depth manner. The estimated proper prestress level to counteract those tensile stresses is above 2.4 MPa, which is similar to the case of the highway bridges.
