Towards Real-time Multi-object Tracking in CPU Environment (CPU 환경에서의 실시간 동작을 위한 딥러닝 기반 다중 객체 추적 시스템)

  • Recently, the utilization of the object tracking algorithm based on the deep learning model is increasing. A system for tracking multiple objects in an image is typically composed of a chain form of an object detection algorithm and an object tracking algorithm. However, chain-type systems composed of several modules require a high performance computing environment and have limitations in their application to actual applications. In this paper, we propose a method that enables real-time operation in low-performance computing environment by adjusting the computational process of object detection module in the object detection-tracking chain type system.

  • This paper proposes a multiple moving objects tracking system which is adaptable itself to circumstances. Snake model is sensitive to the start position value because it does not accurately express contours of objects in complex image. It can be improved as the proposed system gets background images by using difference images, segments objects using neighborhood pixels and assesses the position feature values acquired on the start position value to deformable Snake model. And also the system can simplify complex background images and reduce search regions by the constituent points of a Snake laid in Positions of object. It is showed that the proposed system can be appBied to multiple moving vehicle racking systems by the experimental results of 30fps AVI file.

  • We proposed a realtime object tracking system that detects the abandoned or disappeared objects. Because these events are caused by human, we used the tracking based algorithm. After the background subtraction by Gaussian mixture model, the shadow removal is applied for accurate object detection. The static object is classified as either of abandoned objects or disappeared object. We assigned monitoring time to the static object to overcome a situation that it is being overlapped by other object. We obtained more accurate detection by using region growing method. We implemented our algorithm by DSP processor and obtained an excellent result throughout the experiment.

  • Recently, the amount of data is increasing with the development of industries and technologies. Research on the processing and transmission of large amounts of data is attracting attention. Therefore, in this paper, compressed sensing was used to reduce the amount of data and its effect on Mask R-CNN algorithm was analyzed. We confirmed that as the compressed sensing rate increases, the amount of data in the image and the resolution decreases. However, it was confirmed that there was no significant degradation in the performance of object detection.

  • 고령화로 인해 65세 이상 운전자가 급증하며 고령운전자의 교통사고 비율이 증가함에 따라 시급한 사회 문제로 떠오르고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 객체 검출, 인식 모델을 결합하고 신호등을 인식하여 Text-To-Speech(TTS)로 알리는 쿠버네티스 기반의 프레임워크를 제안한다. 객체 검출 단계에서는 YOLOv5 모델들의 성능을 비교하여 활용하였으며 객체 인식 단계에서는 C-RNN 기반의 attention-OCR 모델을 활용하였다. 이는 신호등의 내부 LED 영역이 아닌 이미지 전체를 인식하는 방식으로 오탐지 요소를 낮춰 인식률을 높였다. 결과적으로 1,628장의 테스트 데이터에서 accuracy 0.997, F1-score 0.991의 성능 평가를 얻어 제안한 프레임워크의 타당성을 입증하였다. 본 연구는 후속 연구에서 특정 도메인에 딥러닝 모델을 한정하지 않고 다양한 분야의 모델을 접목할 수 있도록 하며 고령 운전자 및 신호 위반으로 인한 교통사고 문제를 예방할 수 있다.

Vehicle Tracking using Euclidean Distance (유클리디안 척도를 이용한 차량 추적)

  • In this paper, a real-time vehicle detection and tracking algorithms is proposed. The vehicle detection could be processed using GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model) algorithm and mathematical morphological processing with HD CCTV camera images. The vehicle tracking based on separated vehicle object was performed using Euclidean distance between detected object. In more detail, background could be estimated using GMM from CCTV input image signal and then object could be separated from difference image of the input image and background image. At the next stage, candidated objects were reformed by using mathematical morphological processing. Finally, vehicle object could be detected using vehicle size informations dependent on distance and vehicle type in tunnel. The vehicle tracking performed using Euclidean distance between the objects in the video frames. Through computer simulation using recoded real video signal in tunnel, it is shown that the proposed system works well.

Road Sign Detection with Weather/Illumination Classifications and Adaptive Color Models in Various Road Images (날씨·조명 판단 및 적응적 색상모델을 이용한 도로주행 영상에서의 이정표 검출)

  • Road-view object classification methods are mostly influenced by weather and illumination conditions, thus the most of the research activities are based on dataset in clean weathers. In this paper, we present a road-view object classification method based on color segmentation that works for all kinds of weathers. The proposed method first classifies the weather and illumination conditions and then applies the weather-specified color models to find the road traffic signs. Using 5 different features of the road-view images, we classify the weather and light conditions as sunny, cloudy, rainy, night, and backlight. Based on the classified weather and illuminations, our model selects the weather-specific color ranges to generate Gaussian Mixture Model for each colors, Green, Yellow, and Blue. The proposed method successfully detects the traffic signs regardless of the weather and illumination conditions.

  • P&ID((Piping and Instrument Diagram) is a key drawing in the engineering industry because it contains information about the units and instrumentation of the plant. Until now, simple repetitive tasks like listing symbols in P&ID drawings have been done manually, consuming lots of time and manpower. Currently, a deep learning model based on CNN(Convolutional Neural Network) is studied for drawing object detection, but the detection time is about 30 minutes and the accuracy is about 90%, indicating performance that is not sufficient to be implemented in the real word. In this study, the detection of symbols in a drawing is performed using 1-stage object detection algorithms that process both region proposal and detection. Specifically, build the training data using the image labeling tool, and show the results of recognizing the symbol in the drawing which are trained in the deep learning model.

  • 이상 행동을 탐지하는 딥러닝 기반 검지 시스템은 동영상 기반 데이터로부터 움직임을 보이는 객체를 추적하고 그 객체의 행동을 분석하여 정상적인 행동 범위를 벗어나는 패턴을 보이는 영역을 이상으로 탐지한다. 특히 생성적 적대 신경망(GAN)과 광학 흐름 추정(Optical flow estimation) 기법을 활용하여 움직임에 대한 특징 정보를 추출하고 이를 학습하여 행동 패턴에 대한 모델링을 수행한다. 모델 학습 및 테스트에 활용되는 데이터셋의 해상도가 낮거나 이상 행동을 표현하는 특징 정보가 부족할 경우 최종 모델 성능에 부정적 영향을 미치게 되며, 특히 광학 흐름이 표현하는 이동량 측면에서 차이가 크게 나지 않는 이상 객체의 경우 탐지가 정확하게 이뤄지지 않는다. 본 연구에서는 동영상 프레임에서 나타나는 객체의 평균 종횡비를 구하고 정상적인 비율을 벗어나는 객체에 대해서 이상 행동을 취하는 샘플로 처리하는 후처리단 모듈을 제안하여 최종적인 모델 성능을 향상시키는 방법을 고안한다.

  • CPU 와 GPU 의 성능이 지속적으로 발전함에 따라 객체 인식 인공지능의 정확도와 추론 속도는 점차 향상되고 있으나 이러한 성능을 Edge Device 와 같은 제한된 환경에서 구현하기에 아직 여러 한계점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 여러가지 Edge Device 에서 객체 인식을 위한 경량화 된 모델 중 하나인 SSD-Mobilenet-V2 를 활용하여 결과값을 통해 각 Device 간 경향성을 분석하였다. 본 결과를 바탕으로 다양한 환경에서의 객체인식 인공지능 모델의 성능 개선을 위한 연구에 활용할 수 있다.
