Along with the well-established evidence on the negative effect of social isolation on physical and mental health, increasing attention has been paid to multi-dimensional nature of social isolation. One line of study on social isolation has discussed different pathways between objective and subjective social isolation and health. Another stream of the research focused on the possibly non-linear association between social isolation and health by age cohort groups. Drawing from the two lines of research, this study aimed at empirically examine to what extent objective and subjective social isolation are associated with physical and mental health independently and how the associations vary by three age cohorts(i.e. the middle-aged, the young old, the old-old). Data came from the first wave of Korean Social Life, Health and Aging Project (KSHAP) (N= 814). Findings showed 1) objective subjective isolation were significantly related with worse physical and mental health, interestingly, subjective social isolation was associated with mental health only, 2) pattern of association between social isolation and physical health varied by age cohorts. Specifically, compared to the middle-aged, the young old with higher objective social isolation exhibited lower level of physical health, while the old-old with higher subjective social isolation were likely to experience lower physical health. Based on the findings, we discussed implications and suggestions for future research and relevant policy/program development for ameliorating objective and subjective social isolation.

This study investigated the relationship between consumers' knowledge and risk perception towards purchase intention of organic food. The data were collected from a sample of 311 housewives in Seoul and Ulsan. A structural equation modelling technique was used to test the causal model. The results indicated that subjective knowledge was significantly associated with purchasing organic food. Objective knowledge, in contrast, was only indirectly associated with purchasing organic food, through increased subjective knowledge and risk perception towards purchasing organic food. Risk perception towards organic food had a direct positive and relatively strong relationship with purchasing organic food. Implications of the results and limitations of the study were discussed.

본 논문은 디지털 모바일 비디오에 대한 객관적 화질 평가 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 화질 평가 방법은 경계 영역을 구한 뒤, 그 주변 영역에서의 에러 값에 근거한 경계영역 특징과 영상 압축 코덱에 의하여 발생하는 블로킹 효과를 측정함으로써 주관적 화질을 객관화 하였다. 제안한 알고리듬의 성능 평가를 위하여 Mean Opinion Score (MOS)값과 기존의 방법/제안한 방법의 결과를 비교하였다. 본 논문에서는, 인간 시각에 의한 MOS값과의 상관도가 제안한 방법이 기존의 방법에 비하여 비교적 큼을 보였다.

This study investigated the health outcomes of the aged male workers who retired before 2003, using the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study data. Empirical study shows that the subjective and objective health conditions of the retiree are worse than the non-retired. And the random-effect panel probit analyses got the results that the effects of retirement on health are different by the retirement reason and the subjective health conditions.

Along with the well-established evidence on the negative effect of social isolation on physical mental health and mortality, increasing attention has been paid to multi-dimensional nature of social isolation. In this study, the main effect and interaction effect of objective and subjective social isolation on heterogeneous age cohort related to the onset of dementia, which is becoming a social problem due to rapid aging of health issues, was examined through binary logistic regression analysis. Data came from the first wave of Korean Social Life, Health and Aging Project (KSHAP) (N= 814). Findings showed 1) in the young-old, objective isolation was a significant on the incidence of dementia, 2) in the old-old, subjective isolation increased the risk of dementia. In summary, the relative influence of objective and subjective social isolation related to the incidence of dementia varies depending on the young-old and old-old. On the other hand, the interaction effect of objective and subjective social isolation on dementia was not significant in both the young-old and old-old. Based on the findings, we discussed implications and suggestions for future research and relevant policy and program development(dementia-friendly communities) for ameliorating objective and subjective social isolation.

최근들어 제품개발에 앞서 제품으로 인해 유발되는 감성을 측정하기 위한 시도가 늘고 있다. 그러나 제품을 사용하면서 나타나는 행동의 변화는 많은 영향 요소를 포함하고 있어 이를 해석하기가 어렵다. 본 연구는 안정을 유도하는 Herb차를 개발하거나 치약과 같이 사용으로 인한 감성유발 효과를 보고싶어하는 요구에 따라 시행하였다. 우선 실험전 피검자의 불안 척도, 기본 check list에 따라 피검자를 선택하였다. 또한 객관적 감성 지표로는 Fz, Fp1, Cz, Oz에서 뇌파를 측정하였고 EOG를 시행하여 noise를 제거하였다. 자율신경계 반응으로 galvanic skin resistance(GSR), 피부온도, 심박수등을 동시에 측정하였다. 이들 제품 사용으로 인한 객관적 감성 변화의 대조군으로는 행동 시행전에 측정하였다. 제품 사용 후 10분 간격으로 30-60분까지 나타나는 변화를 측정하였으며, 이들 제품들은 안정 효과를 유도하고자 기획되었으므로 대조군으로 00 $\times$ 0의 복잡한 계산문제를 주어 stress로 인한 감성, 걷는 동작, 손 씻는 행위등을 나누어 측정하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 의하면, 제품 사용으로 인한 감성의 변화는 GSR에서 가장 잘 반영되었고 또한 계산 문제로 인한 자극에서도 역시 GSR의 변화가 가장 뚜렷하였다. Herb차인 경우 기호도에 따른 차이가 나타났음을 알 수 있었다.

성대결절은 음성 과다 사용으로 유발되는 후두의 만성적 질환 중 가장 대표적인 질환 가운데의 하나로서, 이에 대한 치료는 수술적 처치 또는 음성치료로 시행된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 성대 결절의 치료법 중 음성치료에 초점을 맞추어, 음성치료를 실시한 성대 결절 환자의 음성에 대한 변화를 음향학적, 공기역학적으로 분석하여, 치료 전과 후를 비교함으로써 그 효과에 대한 객관적 자료를 제시하고자 한다. (중략)

This paper attempts to explore the impact of technological regulation on technological innovation and performance of Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) by analysing a survey data of 286 Korean SMEs. The 3-step mediated regression analysis results reveal that the perceived regulatory burden is negatively associated with SMEs' R&D investment and innovation of product and process. Moreover, the level of regulatory burden may affect the objective and subjective performance of SMEs. The results suggest that regulatory policies for reducing regulatory burden need to be designed and implemented in order to enhance technological innovation and performance of SMEs.

객관적 영상 화질 측정(Image Quality Assessment: IQA)방법은 영상 화질 최적화 문제해결을 목적으로 하는 영상 처리 및 컴퓨터 비전 분야에 매우 중요하게 사용된다. 이를 위해, 저복잡도, 고성능 및 좋은 수학적 특성(예를 들어, 척도성(metricability), 미분가능성(differentiability) 및 볼록 성질(convexity))을 모두 만족시키는 객관적 IQA 방법이 활발히 연구되어 왔다. 그러나, 위해 위에서 언급한 좋은 수학적 특성을 가지는 대부분의 객관적 IQA 방법들은 좋은 수학적 특성을 만족시키기 위해 상당한 예측성능의 감소를 초래했다. 본 논문은 위에서 언급한 좋은 수학적 특성을 모두 만족시키면서, 예측 성능이 향상된 새로운 IQA 방법을 제안한다. 인간 시각 체계의 감수영역은 광도 입력에 대해 공간 도메인에서 미분 형태의 응답을 가지므로, 제안 방법은 이러한 시각 체계 응답을 모방하여 기울기 연산자를 도입한다. 제안한 방법에서 도입한 기울기 연산자는 매우 단순하게 설계되어, 계산 복잡도가 매우 낮다. 광범위한 실험 결과, 제안하는 IQA 방법은 기존 수학적 특성이 좋은 IQA 방법들 대비 더 좋은 성능을 보이면서 계산 복잡도 또한 낮았다. 따라서 제안 IQA 방법은 다양한 영상 화질 최적화 문제에 매우 효과적으로 적용될 수 있다.

일반적으로 블록기반의 동영상 압축방식은 블록킹효과를 필연적으로 수반한다. 특히 저비트율의 동영상에서는 블록킹 효과가 다른 어떤 영상의 왜곡보다 많이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 블록킹효과를 효율적으로 인간 시각체계에 적합하게 실시간으로 제거하는 후처리 알고리즘을 제안한다. 우선 복원된 영상에서 인간의 시각체계와 동영상의 특성에 따라 3가지의 모드로 분리하여 QP(quantization Parameter)에 따라 임계치를 변화함으로써 각 모드의 필터링 범위를 가변시켰다. 이후에 각 모드에 알맞은 일차원 및 적응형 필터링을 적용한다. 적용된 모드별 필터링은 과도한 블러링 현상을 방지하고 영상내의 실제 에지성분읓 보호하면서 효과적으로 블록킹효과를 제거한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘을 실험 영상에 적용하였을 경우에 주관적 화질 및 객관적 화질인 PSNR로 0.5dB 정도 향상되었다.
