This paper presents an on-line finite element model updating method for in-service structures using measured data. Conventional updating methods, which are based on numerical optimization, are not efficient for on-line updating because they generally require repeated eigenvalue analyses until convergence criteria are met. The proposed method enables fully automated on-line finite element model updating, almost simultaneously with vibration measurement, without any user intervention or off-line procedures. The automated covariance-driven stochastic subspace identification (Cov-SSI) method is utilized to identify modal frequencies and vectors, and the identified modal data is fed to the neural network of the inverse eigenvalue function to produce the updated finite element model parameters. Numerical examples for a wind excited 20-story building structure shows that the proposed method can update the series of finite element model parameters automatically. It is also shown that sudden changes in the structural parameters can be detected and traced successfully.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of alcohol abstinence self-efficacy in the relationship between the Alcoholics Anonymous affiliation and alcohol recovery. For these purposes, this study recruited 554 abstinent alcoholics participating in Alcoholics Anonymous. Based on structural equational modeling, the results can be summarized as follows: the relationship between the Alcoholics Anonymous affiliation and alcohol recovery was partially mediated by alcohol abstinence self-efficacy. In particular, age difference was found in the mediating relationship. Based on the findings, implications on practice and future research directions are discussed.

This study's aim was to verify the mediating effect of the social withdrawal and the community spirit within path which the perception of the local community predicted the quality of life of adolescence. For verifying the purpose of this study, this study selected a total of 2,000 cases from the Korean Child-Youth Pannel Study(KYPS) as a research target. In this study, Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) of AMOS 18.0 was applied as an analysis method, and sobel test was applied for utilizing the significance of the mediating effect. The research result were as follows through the presented research method. Firstly, this study has proved the effectiveness of the direct path that the perception of the local community predicted the quality of the life of adolescence. Secondary, this study has verified the effectiveness of the indirect path of the social withdrawal and the community spirit. Based on these findings, this study has presented the intervention methods for the quality of the life of adolescence and the suggestion for the future research.

The purpose of this study is to investigate factors influencing the severity of non-suicidal self-injury in an adult community sample. Participants with recent and repeated NSSI(N=54) completed self-reported questionnaire assessing frequency, method, and motivation of self-injury and the emotional regulation of cognitive reappraisal. Results indicated that intrapersonal motivations were endorsed more than interpersonal motivations, and were significantly related with NSSI severity. Also earlier onset was significantly related to NSSI severity. These findings support the emotional regulation model of NSSI and highlight the importance of intervention focusing on emotional regulations.

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between ADHD trait and life satisfaction among male adolescents, and to examine the mediating effect of interpersonal initiation and internet game addiction on that relationship. The participants were 285 male students from middle and high schools. For this study, World Health Organization ADHD Self-Report Scale, Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire, Internet Gaming Use-Elicited Symptom Screen, and Satisfaction with Life Scale were used. PROCESS Macro 3.5 Model 4 was used to analyze a double mediating effect. Results revealed that male adolescents' ADHD trait was negatively correlated with interpersonal initiation and life satisfaction, while it was positively correlated with their internet game addiction. And, male adolescents' interpersonal initiation was positively correlated with life satisfaction, whereas internet game addiction was negatively correlated with life satisfaction. In addition, male adolescents' interpersonal initiation and game addiction were mediating ADHD trait and life satisfaction. These findings suggest that the interpersonal initiation and game addiction should be treated to improve life satisfaction of male adolescents with high ADHD trait.

This paper investigates the spillover effect of the U.S. Interest on Korea's interest rate as well as the role of exchange rate in the spillover effects, by utilizing a open macro model on the determinants of long-term interest rates. According to the cointegration estimation and the Impulse response function, it is found that, across both long-term and short-term, there exist the spillover effect of the U.S. Interest on Korea's interest rate. The fiscal deficit and expected exchange rate have significantly positive relationship with the Koreas's long-term interest rate. Further, foreign exchange market intervention in Korea did not have significant effect on the spillover effect. Thus, this study suggests that exchange rate flexibility would not be enough to restrain the spillover effects of the U.S. interest rate.

Collection development policies(CDP) are becoming increasingly important to libraries of all types and sizes. The paper addresses the elements to develop a collection development policy to guide the librarians for the science and technology information resources. Instead of focusing on how well a given item fits into or supports the collection, the policy gives general guidance on the selection of information resources. The general collection development guidelines for the information resources include relevance and potential use of the information, demand for the information, ease of use of the product, subject and magnitudes, stability of the coverage of the resource, longevity of the information and evaluation mechanism.

This study's aim was to prove the mediating effects of the life satisfaction and the depression in the path which the social participant has predicted the suicide ideation of the elderly. To do so, a total of 1,429 cases above 65 years old were selected as a analysis object form the Seoul Welfare Pannel Data(2010). And this study has applied the Structural Equation Modeling of AMOS 18.0 as analysis method. The analysis results were as below through presented analysis method. Firstly, this study has proved the effect of the direct path that the social participant predicted the depression of the elderly. Secondly, this study has demonstrated the effect of the mediating paths through the life satisfaction and the depression. On the basis of presented analysis results, this study proposed the intervention plan about the suicide of the elderly and the suggestion for follow-up study.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the paths of the related variables that exert an influence upon the increase in mild and serious delinquencies of part-time work adolescents. Based on differential association theory, social control theory and power resource theory, the research model was composed and analyzed through structural equation model. Data came from survey which was done by fifteen high schools located in Seoul, and 201 questionnaire of returned were used for analysis. The results were congruent with theoretical expectations. The relationship between work hour per week and delinquency was mediated by delinquent propensity of fellow workers, amount of spending money and school adjustment. In conclusion, various theoretical and practical implications for social work practice focusing on the part time work students were discussed. Enforcement of regulation and revision of current law and various ways for helping and supervising working students in school, family and working places are needed.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of paranoid tendency and social isolation in relationship between covert narcissism and Tajin Kyofusho(TKS). We administered self-report questionnaires to 334(163 male, 171 female) undergraduate students. Path analysis conducted using structural equation modeling. Path analysis indicated that the overall model fitted the data well. Analysis showed that paranoid tendency and social isolation sequentially mediated relationship between covert narcissism and TKS. The finding suggest that we could focus on covert narcissistic personality, paranoid cognitive process, and behavioral social isolation to understand and intervene TKS.
