Effect of Security Manager's Servant Leadership on the Cohesion and Organization Outcome (시큐리티 관리자의 서번트 리더십이 응집력 및 조직성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the impact on cohesiveness and organizational performance of the servant leadership of the security manager. The subjects of study selected final 287 persons by using the systematic random sampling for security companies in Seoul in 2009. However, the number of cases used in the final analysis is 256 persons. Reliability of the questionnaire used in this study showed that the value of Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was above 0.796. The collected data used the methods such as factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis etc. by using SPSSWIN 17.0. The conclusions are as follows. First, servant leadership has a positive impact on cohesiveness. Second, one of the factors of servant leadership, trust, has a positive impact on organizational performance. Third, individual, social cohesiveness and group cohesiveness among the factors of cohesiveness have a positive impact on organizational performance. Fourth, with the results of path analysis, servant leadership has direct impact on organizational effectiveness and indirect impact through cohesiveness. In other words, a servant leadership among the leaderships that a security worker is conscious of administrator affects cohesiveness and organizational performance in management to promote the management of the organization.

  • Many organizations have had deep interests in studies concerning leadership and also in academic area, not only management but also psychology. Until now, the leadership has been accentuated to managers or team leaders especially. Recently, however, the concept of self-leadership that lead one's own activities toward right direction through self-control or self-management is being focused on practices and academia. This study is to investigate the influence between self-leadership strategies and learning performance at IT classes mediated by attitude of attendance focused on the social science students in an university. Research results can give us right direction of task-taking attitudes in firms or learning attitudes in teaching organization and implications to human resource manager who are in charge of improving learning performance or productivity.

  • A number of organizations have had big interests in studies concerning leadership and not only academia but also psychological areas do also. Until now, leadership has been accentuated by managers or team leaders especially. Recently, however, the concept of self-leadership directing one's own activities through self-control or self-management is being focused on in practices and in academia. This study is to investigate the influence between self-leadership strategies as predictors and learning performance in IT classes as dependents variables mediated by attitude of attendance focused on the social science students in two universities (Korea(116 samples) and India(36 samples)). And this research tried to compare difference between two university students. As a result of empirical analysis, Korean learners making an effort by themselves show a tendency to think constructively. Namely, even though the level of difficulty may be high, by positive self-talk, respondents usually make an effort to get high academic performance. In case of Indian respondents, students who are in behavior-oriented show higher academic performance. Research results can give us direction of task-taking attitudes in firms or learning attitudes in teaching organizations and implications to human resource managers who are in charge of improving learning performance or productivity.

  • The competition of construction market is keener, so construction companies are seeking the methods for improving the performance. Construction field organizations and managers should have an innovative behavior to improve the performance. However, construction field organizations and managers are negative to innovation because they are generally conservative. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the factors to influence the innovative behavior of building construction field managers. In this study, self-leadership, feedback seeking behavior and job involvement are selected the factors to influence the innovative behavior by literature reviewing. The results of correlation analysis showed that the behavior-focused strategies in self-leadership and the job involvement influence the innovative behavior of building construction field managers. In addition, the individual characteristics such as marriage, experience, position and type of employ influence the innovative behavior of their. This study is expected to help to improve the performance management system in construction field organizations.

  • It is very important for ability to be treated to protect and secure the loss of life and property in emergency situation at sea. 80% of maritime casualty are incurred by human factors rather than a mechanical reason, which means that most maritime incident does not come from only one factor by mistake, but multiple potential factors causing a fault and error. Therefore, after research of the leadership effect to the ship, decision making process and behavior characteristics occurred in emergency situation, this paper presents settlement scheme and strategy in order to reduce human error in the ship.

Relationship among Emotional Labor, Emotional Leadership and Burnout in Emergency Room Nurses - Comparison of employee-focused emotional labor and job-focused emotional labor - (응급실 간호사의 감정노동과 감성리더십, 소진의 관계 -직원중심 감정노동과 직무중심 감정노동 비교-)

  • This study aimed to identify the relationship among employee-focused and job-focused emotional labor, emotional leadership, and burnout among emergency room nurses. Data were collected from 168 emergency nurses working at general hospitals in one metropolitan city and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient using the SPSS/WIN program. According to the results, the mean scores of the employee-focused emotional labor scale were 3.51 points for superficial acting and 3.26 for deep acting. The mean score of the job-focused scale was 3.73 for frequency of emotional surface, 3.36 for duration of interpersonal interactions, and 3.46 for variety of emotional expressions. The mean score of the emotional leadership scale was 3.57, and the mean scores of the burnout were 4.59 for emotional exhaustion, 4.13 for depersonalization, and 3.60 for diminished personal accomplishment. Job-focused emotional labor scores were higher than employee-focused scores. Superficial acting and frequency of interactions in emotional labor were the most frequently performed by emergency nurses. Employee-focused and job-focused emotional labor showed a significantly partial correlation with emotional leadership and burnout. Based on the results, future research needs to develop effective strategies for managing emotional labor and burnout of nurses working in emergency rooms.

A Study on the Effects of Psychological Capital on Pro-social Organizational Behavior in Local Subsidiary Abroad : Focusing on the Type of Leadership as a Moderator. (해외법인 현지국 직원의 긍정심리자본과 친사회적 조직 행동 간의 관계 - 리더십 유형의 조절효과를 중심으로 -)

  • The objective of this study has two filds. The first is to examine the effect of native employee's psychological capital on their pro-social organizational behavior in the context of a local subsidiary in abroad. The second is to investigate the moderation effect of non-native managers' leadership type in the relationships between psychological capital and pro-social organizational behavior. The researcher provides the theoretical research model based on the pro-social capital theory and then empirically tests the model by using a valid 334-case collected from three overseas-affiliated-companies in Philippines. The results show that native employees' psychological capital positively and significantly influences to pro-social organizational behavior. Moreover, non-native managers' type of leaderships has the significant moderation effects in relationships between native workers' psychological capital and pro-social organizational behavior. Specifically, stronger relationships are identified in all of relationships when the managers show transactional, transformational and authentic leaderships. Theoretical contributions and practical recommendations are also discussed based on the results of the study.

  • This paper analyzed leadership behavior and employee performance through empirical analysis method based on AMO theory. In this study, the ability of the leader (A), task motivation (M), and opportunity (O) were chosen as factors to analyze the relationship between transformative leadership and job performance of the subordinate staff, and the self-efficiency (O) and intrinsic motivation (M) were selected at the individual level and team atmosphere (O) at the organizational level to build a research model. 507 valid data were obtained from the survey and statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS23. Studies have shown that transformative leaders have a significant impact on employee performance. This study provides research results of empirical theory to understand the behavior of the leader in the performance of the employees and also suggests implications for the management of the company's human resources.

  • In this study, an analysis has been conducted as to; (i) what factors affect organizational members trust in leader (ii) how does members trust in leader affect the variable of organizational performance in an organization. In order to attain the objective of this study, a model was established and also the hypothesis was verified on the basis of preceding studies. The findings of this study could be summarized as follows: 1. Servant leadership which is considered as preceding factors affecting trust in leader, were found to have a positive relation with trust in leader. 2. In connection with the role of trust, its mediator effect between its preceding factor and outcome variables was verified. As a result of the analysis, it was verified that servant leadership and trust in leader affected outcome variables not only directly but also indirectly through trust. 3. As a result of analyzing the effect that the trust in leader has on outcome variables, the trust in leader was found to have a positively significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior, organizational commitment and job satisfaction.

The Effect of Self-leadership Program for Nursing Students on Empowerment, Self-directed Learning, and Happiness (간호대학생을 위한 셀프리더십 프로그램이 임파워먼트, 자기주도적 학습능력, 행복감에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to apply self-leadership program using films to nursing students and to confirm the effects of self-leadership, empowerment, self-directed learning and happiness. The study participants were 60 nursing students, the data was collected from March 7, to June 13, 2017. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and paired t-test using SPSS WIN 24.0 computer program. The self-leadership program consisted of 13 sessions, and 14 films were used for self-management, self-training, and self-branding. The self-leadership of nursing students was significantly increased after education(t=-4.38, p<.001). In details, behavior-focused strategies, natural-reward strategies, and constructive thought pattern strategies were all significant. Empowerment also increased significantly after education(t=-5.83, p<.001), and personal skills, collective recognition, and self-determination were all significant. Self-directed learning were high after education(t=-3.31, p=.002), and learning plans and learning practices were significant. In addition, the happiness of nursing college students was significantly higher after education(t=-4.49, p<.001). As a result of this study, self-leadership program using movies can improve self-leadership, empowerment, self-directed learning and happiness of nursing students and It will be possible to apply as educational intervention in the future.
