Estimating Economic Values of Parcel Service Attributes (택배 서비스 속성별 경제적 가치 추정)

  • The objective of this paper is to quantify economic values of parcel service attributes (safety, reliability, quickness, and kindness and customer service) using the contingent choice method and to investigate impact factors (such as sex, age, and education), which influence choice of desirable parcel services. As empirical results, the marginal willingness-to-pay for multiple attributes of parcel service is calculated as about 2,349.6 KRW for the safety attribute, about 829.3 KRW for the reliability attribute, about 588.5 KRW for the quickness attribute, and about 358.8 KRW for the kindness and customer service attribute, according to the estimation model without covariates. The overall results indicate that the safety attribute ranks highest among parcel service attributes, followed by the reliability attribute, quickness attribute, and kindness and customer service attribute. These results can be useful in the decision-making process for establishing desirable pricing policies for parcel service.

  • 최근 발생되고 있는 도시지역에서의 침수피해는 과거와는 다른 양상으로 발생되고 있으며, 이로 인해 많은 재산피해와 소중한 인명피해가 발생되고 있다. 도시지역의 침수피해는 다양한 원인에 의해 피해가 발생된다. 기후변화로 인해 발생되는 높은 강우강도의 집중호우로부터 도시 피복의 불투수화나 부족한 우수유출저감시설로 인한 침투비율의 감소에 따른 유출량의 증대, 짧은 도달시간으로 인한 빠른 하천수위의 상승, 빠른 하천수위의 상승으로 인해 발생되는 하수도의 만관에 따른 관수로화로 인한 역류 발생, 역류된 홍수류의 도시 내 저지대로의 유입, 최대 조위와 맞물려 발생되는 홍수류 배제의 어려움 등은 도시침수라는 결과를 제공하는 주요 원인으로 작동하고 있다. 이러한 현실은 도시지역에서의 침수대책의 수립에 있어 과거와는 다른 특정한 대책의 수립이 필요하다는 점을 시사해 주고 있다. 특히 도시침수를 발생시키는 주요 원인에 대한 개별적인 대책수립보다는 도시침수의 발생확률이 높은 지역에 대해서는 이러한 원인을 종합적으로 고려하여 이를 방어할 수 있는 효율적이고 실제적인 계획을 수립할 필요가 있다. 우리나라는 현재 행정안전부의 자연재해저감종합계획, 환경부의 특정하천유역치수계획 및 하수도정비기본계획을 기본으로 소하천정비기본계획, 하천기본계획 등 소관 부처를 달리하는 다양한 계획들을 수립하여 홍수로부터 귀중한 자산을 보호하려는 노력을 시행하고 있다. 이러한 계획들은 주로 홍수에 대비하고자 하는 특정 구조물의 설계를 중심으로 하고 있으며, 설계에는 항상 경제성의 개념이 수반되므로 설계용량을 초과하는 자연재해의 발생에 대해서도 홍수 발생에 대비하기 위해서는 홍수예보 및 재난대응체계의 운용과 같은 비구조물적인 대책도 매우 중요하게 활용되어야 한다. 이와 같은 현실에서 도시지역의 침수피해를 방지하기 위해서는 이제 과거와는 달리 개별법에 의해 수립되는 각종 계획들을 특정공간에 대해서 종합적으로 고찰하고 최적화하여 현실적이고 효율적인 하나의 계획으로 수립될 필요가 있으며, 하천을 중심으로 시행되고 있는 홍수예보와 유사한 도시침수예보와 같은 비구조물적 대책의 기술적 제고와 시행의 확산이 매우 시급한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 최근 발의된 「도시하천유역 침수피해방지대책법(안)」의 경과와 이 법률에서 다루고 있는 주요 내용들을 살펴봄으로써 향후 우리나라가 지향해야 할 도시지역의 침수피해에 어떻게 대응해나가야 하는지에 관해 살펴보았다.

Stability Design of Steel Frames considering Initial Imperfection based on Second-Order Elastic Analysis (2차 탄성해석을 이용한 강뼈대구조의 초기결함 좌굴설계)

  • Generally design of frame structures composed of beam-column member is accomplished by stability evaluation of each member considering the effective buckling length. This study selects a member of the smallest non-dimension slenderness ratio using the buckling eigenvalue calculated by the elastic buckling eigen-value analysis and axial force of the each member, and decides the initial deflection quantity reflected geometric and material nonlinearities from a suggested equation on the base of standard strength curve of Korea Bridge Design Code. Second-order elastic analysis applying the initial deflection is executed and the stability of each member is evaluated and decides ultimate strength. Through examples of eight-stories and four-stories plane frame structures, the evaluation of the stability is compared with the existing method and ultimate strength of the suggested method is compared with ultimate strength by the nonlinear inelastic analysis. Through these procedures, the increasing of effective buckling length by elastic buckling eigenvalue analysis is prevented from a new design method that considers initial imperfections. And the validity of this method is proved.

Stability Analysis of Soil Nailed Slope by Discrete Element Method (개별요소법을 이용한 지반네일에 의해 보강된 굴착사면의 안정해석)

  • Soil nailing has been widely rosed during the last two decades to stabilize sheep excavated slopes in several countries. In thin study, the discrete element method has been applied to evaluate the stability of the reiuorced slope. This method is capable of not only estimat ins tensile and sheer stresses mobilized in nails but also providing individual safety factors of soil and nails, It has been assumed that the nailed slope be comprised of slices connected with elastoplastic twinkler springs. A reasonable mechanism is applied for representing the behavior between nails and adj scent soils. Taking into account for the bequence of construction the developed method well predicts the measured tensile forces developed in nails so that it is possible to appropriately evaluate the overall safety factor.

DEM Simulation on the Initiation and Development of Road Subsidence (개별요소법을 활용한 도로함몰 발생과 전개거동 예측)

  • Road subsidence, frequently occurring in urban areas, is caused by collapsing of surface layer due to underground cavities followed by a loss of soils. To better understand this phenomenon, the mechanism of cavity formation should be identified firstly. Two kinds of possible subsidence mechanisms were established through previous case studies and the numerical analyses based on Distinct Element Method were conducted for each of these mechanisms. It was confirmed that particle loss and surface settlement can develop differently depending on slit size, void ratio, and particle shape among the various factors influencing the road subsidence. The result demonstrated that the effects of varying cavity diameter and depth could be quantified as a damage chart.

  • A method based on high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet detection has been developed to quantify coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in raw materials and dietary supplements. Single-laboratory validation has been performed on the method to determine linearity, selectivity, accuracy, limits of quantification (LOQ) and repeatability for CoQ10. An excellent linearity (r=0.999) was observed for CoQ10 in the concentration range $15.625{\sim}500\;{\mu}g/ml$ in dietary supplement. Observed recovery of CoQ10 was found to be between 98.33 and 99.38%. LOQ was found to be $250\;{\mu}g/ml$ Repeatability precision for CoQ10 was between 0.15 and 0.21% relative standard deviation (RSD). Further, limited studies showed that some adulterants and degraded material could be satisfactorily separated from CoQ10 and identified.

  • Damage in brittle rock due to stress increase starts from initiation of microcracks, and then results in failure by forming macro failure planes due to propagation and coalescence of these discrete cracks. Conventionally, continuum approaches using macro-failure criteria or a number of elasto-plastic models have been major solution to implement rock damage and failure. However, actual brittle failure processes can be better described in phenomenological approach if initiation and propagation of discrete fractures are explicitly considered. This study presents damage and failure process of rock using a boundary element code, FRACOD, which has been developed to model fracturing process of rocks. Through a series of numerical uniaxial compressive tests, the feasibility of the developed model was verified, and realistic rock failure process was reproduced considering scale effects in rocks. In addition, the fracturing process and the corresponding rock damage in the vicinity of deep shaft in rock mass were presented as an application of this approach. This approach will be expected to contribute to finding better engineering solutions for the analysis of stability problems in brittle rock masses.

A Study for Analysis on Deformation of Rubble Mound Structure Using VOF and DEM Methods (VOF법과 DEM에 의한 사석구조물 변형예측모델과 그 적용성에 관한 연구)

  • A numerical model, which can compute deformation of rubble mound structures composed with various size materials, was proposed. In the numerical model, wave field into the mound structures was computed by CADMAS-SURF and the deformations of mound structures were computed by DEM. Interaction between wave field and sectional deformation of structure was considered and to present the variation of behaviors caused by various properties of materials, computation was carried out with random coefficients by Monte Carlo simulation method for contact stiffness and friction angle. The experiments were carried out with rubbles and glass balls with radius of 2.9cm, 2.6cm and 1.5cm. And the deformation characteristics of rubble mounds composed with various size materials were clarified. Furthermore the validity and the applicability of the model were discussed by comparing with the experimental results.

Word Separation in Handwritten Legal Amounts on Bank Check by Measuring Gap Distance Between Connected Components (연결 성분 간 간격 측정에 의한 필기체 수표 금액 문장에서의 단어 추출)

  • We have proposed an efficient method of word separation in a handwritten legal amount on bank check based on the spatial gaps between the connected components. The previous gap measures all suffer from the inherent problem of underestimation or overestimation that causes a deterioration in separation performance. In order to alleviate such burden, we have developed a modified version of each distance measure. Also, 4 class clustering based method of integrating three different types of distance measures has been proposed to compensate effectively the errors in each measure, whereby further improvement in performance of word separation is expected. Through a series of word separation experiments, we found that the modified distance measures show a better performance with over 2 - 3% of the word separation rate than their corresponding original distance measures. In addition, the proposed combining method based on 4-class clustering achieved further improvement by effectively reducing the errors common to two of three distance measures as well as the individual errors.

  • 국가의 글로벌화 전략에 따라 한 EU, 한 미 FTA가 발효를 앞두고 있으며, 중국도 단순히 농수산물 생산지원에서 탈피하여 농산물 가공촉진을 위한 계획수립 및 지원을 추진 중이다. 이런 대외의 상황변화에 따라 대기업을 제외한 중소식품기업은 고가의 메스티지 제품 생산이나 저가의 범용식품생산에서도 경쟁력이 부족한 실정이다. 노령인구로 인한 농업생산의 구조조정이 완료된 유럽이 농업 및 식품산업에서 경쟁력을 유지하고 있는 배경은 다양한 협동조합기업 그리고 협동조합기업연합의 활발한 경영활동과 한 번 협동조합기업에 가입하면 그 협동조합을 통해 농산물 등을 유통해야 하는 법과 제도에 기반하고 있다. 한국의 경우 "농업협동조합법" 등 기존 8개의 개별법체제는 농수산물생산자 중심으로 식품을 생산하는 중 소규모 식품기업이 연합하여 규모화를 달성할 수 있는 법인을 설립할 수 있는 제도적 기반이 미비하였으나, "협동조합기본법" 제정을 계기로 중 소 식품기업이 함께 공동체를 구성하여 대기업이나 수입식품에 대한 경쟁력을 갖기를 희망한다.
