A Study on Fundamental Properties of Rapid Cooling Slag to Utilize as Fine Aggregate for Concrete (콘크리트용 잔골재로 활용하기 위한 습식 급랭 전로슬래그의 기초 물성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, development of substitution aggregate is urgently needed because aggregate shortage is continuing due to the exhaustion of natural aggregate and strict restrictions of environment in construction industry. Therefore, In this study, new processing method to solve the problems of processing method of existing converter slag, namely, rapid cooling slag produced by the rapid cooling and crushing process of the high temperature melten slag into the rotary drum and then using the cooling water, compressed air and steel ball was examined fundamental properties for utilize as fine aggregate for concrete. In addition, through this study, we propose the utilization method of rapid cooling slag as fine aggregate for concrete.

  • This paper presents a fatigue reliability model for the reliability-based evaluation of remaining fatigue life of existing rail-road bridges. It is demonstrated that the simple fatigue reliability model based on the Weibull distribution of fatigue life can be extended by incorporating various effects due to the rate of the train-traffic increase and in-service Inspections. The paper also suggests the system fatigue reliability analysis using an approximate formulation and 2nd-order bound solutions. The application of the proposed model to existing rail-road brdiges based on field load tests shows that it may be practically used for the assessment of fatigue reliability, remaining life, and in-service inspection scheduling of existing rail-road bridges.

부식이 강트러스 철도교의 응력특성에 미치는 영향

  • 현재 우리나라에서 공용중인 강철도교의 50% 이상이 공용기간 50년 이상 경과된 교량으로 구성되어 있는데, 이와 같이 공용기간이 오래된 강교량의 내구성에 영향을 미치는 주된 열화손상으로 피로와 부식이 보고되고 있다. 이 가운데 부식열화현상에 관한 조사에 의하면 부식손상의 대부분은 국부적인 것으로 분류할 수 있으나 부식면적이 대상부재의 25%를 넘는 경우도 부재의 특성에 따라서는 l∼6%에 이르는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 그러나 부식으로 인한 단면감소에 따른 응력 발생 특성에 대한 연구나 실교량에서의 각 부재별 부식손상 정도에 따른 실측자료의 축적이 미흡한 실정이어서 유지관리에서의 부식에 대한 정량적인 평가가 체계적으로 이루어지고 있지 않다.(중략)

  • Nowadays, polymer-cement mortars are widely used in construction field(floorings and pavements, water-proofings, adhesives, repair materials, deck coverings, anti-corrosive linings) Because of excellent performance such as high tensile and flexural strength, waterproofness, excellent adhesion, good durability, improved wear and chemical resistances. This article presents the results of experimental study that investigates the effect of ambient temperature on the strength properties of polymer-modified cement mortar. Results show that when increasing the polymer proportion in mortar on different ambient temperature, the compressive strength and flexural strength are decreased, and also alkali resistance is decreased.

  • The purpose of study is to develope for lightweight concrete panel which have high quality with insulation performance of sound. The use of lightweight concrete products has been increased at a recently high structures. Also, the gathering of nature aggregate is limited, so that lack of fine aggregate is appearing. Statistical analysis is practiced on the properties of EPS concrete according to the variation of mix design. As a result saturated density is affected by amount of Bottom ash.Also compressive strength is affected by W/B ratio at the early age and amount of Bottom ash at the latter age.

A Study on Analysis of Real Response of Steel Railway Bridges (강철도교의 실응답해석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, measured and calculated responses are compared in order to give how the static and dynamic responses occurred in steel railway bridges due to train loads could be calculated appropriately. From this, it is investigated how the impact factors are varied by changing the train speed above 100km/h Field measurement is carried out by the steel strain gages and displacement transducers at the main design points, and then the static and dynamic response, fundamental frequencies, damping ratios and impact factors of the bridges are obtained. Static analysis is done using the computer program developed according to three dimensional matrix structural analysis in which the trains and bridges are modelled as 1,2 and 3 dimensions. Dynamic analysis is done according to 2 approaches, the moving force and mass problem. In moving force problem, the solutions are obtained by the modesuperposition-method and in moving mass problem by the direct integration method. From this study, it is known that in order to obtain the static response in the railway bridges, the bridge could be modelled by 1 or 2 dimension as in the highway bridge, however the response ratio(measured/calculaled) is high comparing to the highway bridges. By the way, the dynamic response should be obtained by the moving mass problem. And by comparing the measured and code specified impact factors, it is known that the factors specified in the present railway bridge code are very safe under the present service speed below 100km/h. However, because the factors become very high under the speed above 100km/h, especially in the simple plate girder bridge, it is thought that the code specification on impact factor should be discussed enough under the rapid transit system.

  • Extrusion concrete panel is made by extrusion of high viscosity paste. The high viscosity paste is made by mix of cement, silica, reinforced fiber and thickening agent in the dry mixer and wet mixer subsequently, extrusion in the extruder, and curing in the normal steam curer and high pressure steam curer subsequently. To increase a flexural strength of the panel, it is used inorganic fiber as like asbestos. But it was known that the asbestos was harmful to human being lately, in the domestic area it is restricted usage in the construction materials. So, it is demanded the alternative material for asbestos in the extrusion concrete panel. This study is to investigate that the sepiolite is possible to be the alternative of asbestos. The 3 types of sepiolite is applied to the extrusion concrete panel. To investigate the properties of the panel with sepiolite, it is compared the control with asbestos in the flexural strength, the specific density and the spot compressive strength. From the test results, it was found that the panel with sepiolite B is higher than the control with asbestos in the flexural strength and in the density.

  • The recycling program about waste concrete is being progressed to national research. But research on waste concrete powder which is occurred in control process of concrete powder is not enough. Waste concrete powder includes in $SiO_2,\;Al_2O_3$, and CaO so that the create of tobermorite is possibile through Hydrothermal Syntesis Reaction. Tobermorite have an advantage of high strength, sulphuric acid resistance and the lower drying shrinkage. Accordingly, this study investigate in properties of light-weight foamed concrete made with waste concrete powder. As a results, light-weight foamed concrete made with waste concrete powder is the higher than stone powder sludge of density and porosity, and the tower compressive strength. Therefore, it is thought that light-weight foamed concrete using waste concrete powder is possible.

  • Recently, waste concrete emission has been increased by acceleration of urban development and the rapid growth of redevelopment projects, so recycling of waste concrete is actively progressed, But the usage is limited to a lower value added such as the roadbed material etc. To produce the high quality recycled aggregate, breaking and washing process is added to the existing process and inevitably increases the occurrence of particle, because old mortal is included in the recycled aggregate. Therefore, this study purpose is analysis the properties of lightweight foamed concrete made by waste concrete sludge which is the by-product from produce the recycled aggregate. In result, possibility of manufacture of lightweight foamed concrete which gives equal performance compared with ALC was detect(scope of density : $0.5{\sim}0.6$, scope of compressive strength : $3.5{\sim}4.0MPa$). And scope of porosity is as follow ; total porosity : $27{\sim}30%$, open porosity : $1{\sim}5%$

IDDQ Test Pattern Generation in CMOS Circuits (CMOS 조합회로의 IDDQ 테스트패턴 생성)

  • This Paper proposes a new compaction algorithm for IDDQ testing in CMOS Circuits. A primary test pattern is generated by the primitive fault pattern which is able to detect GOS(gate-oxide short) and the bridging faults in an internal primitive gate. The new algorithm can reduce the number of the test vectors by decreasing the don't care(X) in the primary test pattern. The controllability of random number is used on processing of the backtrace together four ones of heuristics. The simulation results for the ISCAS-85 benchmark circuits show that the test vector reduction is more than 45% for the large circuits on the average compared to static compaction algorithms.
