Robust Contour Extraction of Moving Object based on Hue Gradient Background Model (색상 기울기 배경 모델 기반 안정적 동적 객체 윤곽 추출)

  • 본 논문은 조명의 변화가 심한 연속영상에서 동적객체를 안정적으로 추출하기 위하여 색상강도 및 기울기 기반 배경모델을 구축하고 이를 이용하여 입력영상으로부터 동적 객체의 윤곽선을 안정적으로 추출하는 기법을 제시한다. 제안기법에서는 우선, 동적객체가 포함되지 않은 배경 연속영상의 HSI 컬러공간에서 색상(Hue) 강도와 색상 기울기에 대한 배경모델을 생성한다. 실시간으로 입력되는 동적 객체를 포함한 연속영상에 대하여 각 화소에 대한 색상(Hue)성분을 추출하고 이웃 화소와의 색상성분에 대한 기울기 크기를 계산한다. 이를 기구축된 배경모델과 비교하여 그 차분값이 일정 임계값을 초과하는 경우 동적객체의 윤곽선으로 판별한다. 제안 기법은 극심한 조명 변화에 강건하게 동적 객체의 윤곽정보를 실시간 추출하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존 RGB 기반 배경 모델링 기법을 적용한 경우와의 비교 실험을 통하여 제안 기법의 안정성을 보였다.

  • Magnetic Suspension and Balance System (MSBS) demonstrates the capacity to levitate an experimental model absent any mechanical contact using magnetic forces and moments. It allows precise control of position and attitude of the model, and measures external forces and moments acting on the model. For the purpose of acquisition of reliable experimental results under stable and safe conditions, the performance and robustness of the position and attitude control system of MSBS needs to be improved. To this end, Iterative Feedback Tuning (IFT) and L1 adaptive output feedback algorithm were employed to automatically increase command following performance and to ensure robust operation of MSBS with failure of electric power supply. The applicability was validated using computational simulation.

  • A robust adaptive sliding mode robot control algorithm is derived, which consists of a feed-forward compensation part and discontinuous control part. The unknown parameters is categorized into two groups, with group containing the parameters estimated on-line, and group containing the parameters not estimated on-line. Then a sliding control term is incorporated into the torque input in order to account for the effects of uncertainties on the parameters not estimated on-line and of disturbances. Moreover, the algorithm is computationally simple, due to an effective exploitation of the structure of manipulator dynamics. It is shown that, despite the existence of the parameter uncertainty and external disturbances, the controller is globally asymptotically stable and guarantees zero tracking errors.

Comparison Study of H-infinity Controller Design Algorithms for Spacecraft Attitude Control (인공위성 자세제어를 위한 H-infinity 제어기 설계 알고리즘 비교 연구)

  • There are three kinds of algorithms(2-ARE, mu-synthesis, LMI) for controller design using closed-loop shaping method. This paper provides the summary of background theory of three algorithms and $H_{\infty}$ controller design results for spacecraft attitude control using the three controller design tools of Matlab$^{TM}$ Toolbox for comparison. As a result, it reveals that LMI design method is more reliable as well as easier than others for spacecraft attitude control design. Comparison results are as follow: 2-ARE method and LMI method provide almost same results in robust stability, robust performance and control authority level. But 2-ARE method is more sensitive than LMI method with respect to proper design of weighting functions: 2-ARE method is more difficult than LMI method in weighting function design. The design result of mu-synthesis method shows worse performance and requires bigger control authority than others.

Robustness Estimation for Power and Water Supply Network : in the Context of Failure Propagation (피해파급에 대한 고찰을 통한 전력 및 상수도 네트워크의 강건성 예측)

  • In the aftermath of an earthquake, seismic-damaged infrastructure systems loss estimation is the first step for the disaster response. However, lifeline systems' ability to supply service can be volatile by external factors such as disturbances of nearby facilities, and not by own physical issue. Thus, this research develops the bayesian model for probabilistic inference on common-cause and cascading failure of seismic-damaged lifeline systems. In addition, the authors present network robustness estimation metrics in the context of failure propagation. In order to quantify the functional loss and observe the effect of the mitigation plan, power and water supply system in Daegu-Gyeongbuk in South Korea is selected as case network. The simulation results show that reduction of cascading failure probability allows withstanding the external disruptions from a perspective of the robustness improvement. This research enhances the comprehensive understanding of how a single failure propagates to whole lifeline system performance and affected region after an earthquake.

Precise Sweep Volume Computation Accelerated by GPU (GPU 가속을 이용한 정밀밀한 스웹 볼륨 경계 계산)

  • We present a robust GPU algorithm constructing a sweep volume boundary for a triangular mesh model. Sweeping geometric entities of a triangular mesh object is first approximated to a set of triangles, the envelope of which becomes the outer boundary of the sweep volume. We find the envelope by computing the arrangement of the triangle set and extracting its outmost boundary. To ensure robustness of the algorithm, we adopt random perturbation of sweep vertices and the interval arithmetic using multi-level precisions. The algorithm is implemented to perform most computation on GPU, and as a result it runs two orders of magnitude faster than other algorithms.

  • One of the fundamental limits of Bluetooth Low Energy(BLE) is that the data transmission is available via singlehop connection. In this research, we suggested the stable multihop transmission method to overcome this limitation. In multihop connection situation, multiple singlehop connection should be made and disconnected dynamically. Therefore, we stored the data within the GATT layer and tried to send it dynamically. We divided whole process as 4 states, and let each nodes transfers around each states to make data connection safely. Also, we set the transfer policy between each states during the transmission to make a robust system. From the experiment in real-time environment, we proved that our method showed high rate of packet delivery in a multihop network, which consists of more than 3 nodes.

  • In this study, the equations of motion of a rigid rotor supported by magnetic bearings are derived via Hamilton's principle, and transformed to a state-space form for control purpose. The optimal motion control of rotor magnetic bearing system based on the LQR(linear quadratic regulator) theory is addressed. New schemes related to the selection of the state weighting matrix Q and the control weighting matrix R involved in the quadratic functional to be minimized are proposed. And the robust control of the system with an LMI(linear matrix inequality) based H$_{\infty}$ theory is dealt with in this paper. Loop shapings of TFM (transfer function matrix) are used to increase the performance of control capability of the system. The control abilities of LQR and H$_{\infty}$ controller are compared by simulation and experimental tests and show that the capability of H$_{\infty}$ controller is superior to that of LQR.

A Robust Controller Design for the Position Control of a Spring-Mass System (탄성-질량시스템의 위치제어를 위한 강건 제어기 설계)

  • In this paper, we design a controller using the $\mu$-synthesis method and apply it for the spring-mass system with noncollocated sensors and actuators. We assume that the values of the spring stiffness and load mass of the plant are uncertain. The plant is modeled with parametric uncertainty by using the state space equation, especially the descriptor form. The $H_\infty$ controller designed by the $\mu$-synthesis method is compared with the standard $H_\infty$ controller To compare performances of two $H_\infty$ controllers, it is assumed that both controllers were designed with same weighting functions except that the $\mu$-synthesis controller has structured uncertainties. By compared with the standard $H_\infty$ controller, we show that the designed controller has satisfactory robust performance as well as robust stability by simulations and experiments.

  • In this paper we propose a robust clustered croup Multicast in Ad-hoc network. The proposed scheme applies to weighted clustered Algorithm. Ad-hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile hosts forming a temporary network without the aid of any centralized administration or reliable support services such as wired network and base station. In ad hoc network routing protocol because of limited bandwidth and high mobility robust, simple and energy consume minimal. WCGM method uses a base structure founded on combination weighted value and applies combination weight value to cluster header keeping data transmission by scoped flooding, which is the advantage of the exiting FGMP method. Because this method has safe and reliable data transmission, it shows the effect to decrease both overhead to preserve transmission structure and overhead for data transmission.
