  • The purpose of this study aims to be used as base data of a policy which forms university students' appropriate behavior for the prevention of infection by analyzing some university students' prevention awareness of new type of infection. A self-administered questionnaire survey about students' seriousness, sensitivity, self-efficacy, and prevention behavior intent of new infection, was conducted in an university located in Gyeonbuk from April. 30th to May. 11th, 2018. Analyzing factors which affect the prevention behavior intent of infection with controlled general factor and health behavior, the prevention behavior intent was increased by ${\beta}=.125$ as seriousness increases and ${\beta}=.709$ as self-efficacy increases in Model 2, final model. However, sensitivity has no significant effect on the prevention behavior intent. Originally sensitivity has to be a significant factor regarding to the prevention behavior intent of new infection. But the result that sensitivity has no influence at all, shows that the students are insensitive to new diseases as they don't fear or sense danger of new infection. Therefore, a disease control policy which helps to increase sensitivity has to be established.

  • This study was conducted through Google online survey from November 24 to November 26, 2021 targeting 276 students from the department of dental hygiene at a university in Gangwon-do. The purpose of this study was to investigate the infection awareness of uniforms, recognition of washing rules, and the intention to prevent infectious diseases through individualism and collectivist self-esteem. Statistical methods were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 24.0 and AMOS 21.0 as follows. For analysis, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, structural equation, and ANOVA analysis were performed. As a result, it was confirmed that the models of uniform infection awareness, uniform washing rule recognition(p<.001), self-esteem, individualism, and collectivist intention to prevent infectious diseases were suitable(p<.001). Collectivism was found to affect the perception of uniform infection, the recognition of uniform washing rules, and the intention to prevent infectious diseases, confirming that self-esteem and collectivism had an effect on the change of perception for infection prevention. In the future, it will be possible to use the uniform washing method considering collectivism in infection control education of the dental hygiene.

  • The inflow of infectious diseases is increasing due to the expansion of exchanges between countries and climate change. The public concern and anxiety about the increase of the possibility of infectious disease due to the social environment change are increasing greatly. These pandemics are a serious threat to the economy. Hence, multifaceted efforts are required to prevent them from spreading. In many hospitals, it is very important to promptly report infectious diseases, such as the CDC, when infectious diseases occur. In addition, it is difficult to separate general patients and suspected infected patients in these facilities, so there is a high risk of infection spreading within them. The paper presents the improvements of prevention and nonproliferation by researching the occurrence of infectious diseases, the method of separating infected patients, and the methods of preventing infectious diseases based on the audit results of MERS of the Board of Audit and Inspection.
