Evaluation of Susceptibility of Red Poultry Mite, Dermanyssus gallinae (Acari: Dermanyssidae) in Five Regions to 11 Acaricides (11종의 살비제를 이용한 5개지역 닭진드기의 감수성 평가)

  • The susceptibility of Dermanyssus gallinae adults, collected from poultry farms in 5 regions, to 11 acaricides was investigated. When bifenthrin and formic acid with pyridaben were diluted 100 times, bifenthrin showed 100% acaricidal activity; however, formic acid with pyridaben showed less than 20% acaricidal activity for poultry farms in 3 regions (Gyeongju, Chilgok, and Geumsan) except Yeoncheon and Anseong. The carbamate compound, carbaryl showed 100% acaricidal activity in most of the regions, except Gyeongju. A phosphorus compound, dichlorvos showed 100% activity in most of the regions, yet 66.7% acaricidal activity in Yeoncheon. The susceptibility of D. gallinae from poultry farms in Yeoncheon and Anseong to most acaricides was high; however, in the other farms, the susceptibility of D. gallinae varied depending on the acaricide. Clothianidin, thiamethoxam, fenitrothion, and formic acid with pyridaben showed differences in acaricidal activity among regions. Therefore, farmers should concentrate during the selection of these acaricides. However, carbaryl, cartap hydrochloride, dichlorvos, and bifenthrin showed high activity against D. gallinae collected from poultry farms in five regions. Therefore, these acaricides could be used in most of these regions. To control D. gallinae effectively, the alternation of acaricides is necessary, and indiscriminate pesticide use should be avoided. Therefore, this study can serve as a basis for controlling D. gallinae.

Sensitivity to Fungicides of Typhula incarnata Isolates Causing Gray Snow Mold (설부소립균핵병균 Typhula incarnata의 살균제 감수성)

  • In response of fungicides for control of gray snow mold, isolates of Typhula incarnata were collected from three golf courses in 2012 Yongpyeong, Korea and tested for sensitivity to propiconazole, tebuconazole and azoxystrobin fungicides. Four discriminatory concentrations were used to detect in vitro sensitivity of 50 isolates. Mean 50% effective concentration inhibiting mycelial growth ($EC_{50}$) values for tebuconazole was the lowest among the three fungicides. The $EC_{50}$ value of tebuconazole ranged from 0.0005 ${\mu}g\;ml^{-1}$ to 0.014 ${\mu}g\;ml^{-1}$ with a mean of 0.0048 ${\mu}g\;ml^{-1}$. The mean $EC_{50}$ values of propiconazole in triazole family was 0.5825 (0.78-1.651) ${\mu}g\;ml^{-1}$. $EC_{50}$ value of azoxystrobin ranged from 0.0017 ${\mu}g\;ml^{-1}$ to 0.131 ${\mu}g\;ml^{-1}$ with a mean of 0.0278 ${\mu}g\;ml^{-1}$. There was no correlation among $EC_{50}$ values for propiconazole, azoxystrobin and tebuconazole indicating no cross-resistance relationships with each other. Results of this study were confirmed no resistance isolates in vitro sensitivity of T. incarnata of three fungicides in Yongpyeong.

  • 과거 고강도강 용접부에서 발생하는 저온균열은 주로 용접열영향부에서 발생하였는데, 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 강재 메이커들은 고강도강의 용접성을 향상시키고자 노력하였다. 이러한 노력의 결과로 TMCP, HSLA 강 등이 개발되었고 이들 강재는 예열온도를 저하시킬 수 있다는 장점 때문에 보편화되어 사용되었다. 이러한 강재는 모재 예열온도를 기준으로 적용하게 되면 용착금속에서 저온균열이 발생하는 경우가 있다. 따라서 이제는 용접재료의 용접성, 즉 용접재료의 저온균열 저항성을 평가 할 수 있는 기법이 요구된다. 본 연구의 목적은 용착금속의 저온균열 저항성을 평가하는 것인데, 저온균열 저항성은 용착금속의 미세조직에 따라 다르게 나타날 수 있다. 용착금속의 합금조성은 기본적으로 용착금속에 요구되는 최저 강도와 충격인성을 만족할 수 있도록 설계한다. 하지만 유사한 강도의 유사한 합금조성이더라도 일부 합금 성분에 의해 용착금속의 미세조직들은 상이하게 나타날 수 있는데, 미세조직 특성에 의하여 용착금속의 강도와 저온인성이 결정된다. 용착금속의 저온균열 저항성을 평가하기위하여 Gapped Bead-on-Groove(G-BOG) 시험에 사용된 모재는 50mm 두께의 mild steel을 사용하였으며, 모재의 희석을 방지하기위해 15mm 깊이로 V-groove 가공 후 buttering 용접 하였다. 용접된 시편은 다시 5mm 깊이로 V-groove로 2차 가공 후 Ar + 20% $Co_2$ gas를 사용하여 용접하였다. 용접재료는 ER-100S-G grade로 비슷한 합금조성을 갖는 2 종류를 사용하였다. A용접재료는 Ti 이 0.1% 함유 되었으며, B용접재료는 Ti 함유되지 않은 것을 사용하였다. 또한 예열 온도에 따라 저온균열 감수성을 평가하기위하여 모재의 예열온도를 각각 상온, $50^{\circ}C,\;75^{\circ}C,\;100^{\circ}C$로 하여 실험을 진행하였다. 용착금속의 미세조직을 확인해본 결과 Ti 함유된 A 용착금속 미세조직은 대부분 침상형페라이트로 나타났으며, Ti 함유되지 않은 B 용착금속 미세조직은 대부분 베이나이트로 나타났다. G-BOG 시험 결과 Ti 함유된 A 시편이 Ti 함유되지 않은 B 시편보다 저온균열 발생량이 적었다. 이는 용착금속의 미세조직분포 및 특성에 따라 저온균열감수성이 다르다는 것을 나타낸다.

Development of the New Austenitic Stainless Steels by Controlling Primary Solidification Mode (초정응고 형식 제어에 의한 오스테나이트계 스테인리스 신강종의 개발)

  • The aim of this study was saving of chromium and nickel content in the austenitic stainless steels, SUS 316 and SUS 321. By control of primary solidification mode, new austenitic stainless steels with good weldability, high toughness and corrosion resistance could be developed. The main results obtained were as follows; 1. Hot crack resistance of laboratory melts was good and higher than imported austenitic stainless steel. 2. Cryogenic and room temperature toughness of laboratory melts were high and laboratory melts M-7 to M-9 showed very high toughness than SUS321 imported stainless steel. 3. Intergranular corrosion resistance of laboratory melts was higher than imported stainless steels, SUS316 and SUS321. 4. By this concept of controlling primary solidification mode, could save expensive alloy additives, chromium and nickel.

Prediction of Lung Cancer Susceptibility using an Importance Evaluation of SNP Data and SVM Learning (SNP 데이터의 중요도 평가와 SVM 학습법을 이용한 폐암 감수성 예측)

  • In this paper, we propose a prediction method of lung cancer susceptibility using an importance evaluation of SNP data and the SVM learning, a gene data concerning getting sick with the lung cancer. Since the number of negative data is much larger that of positive data, which are to be used in the SVM learning, for each positive data, a negative data is first searched which has the same sex and the minimum age difference with the positive data. The searched negative data is then coupled with the positive data. For the importance evaluation of each SNP data, an equation which calculates the influence of each SNP data on the prediction of getting sick is adopted. The SNP data are sorted according to the evaluated importance. In experiments, we observed the prediction accuracy which varies according to the number of sorted SNP data used in the learning. LOOCV test results showed that the proposed method yields the prediction accuracy of maximum 65.0% for test data.

  • Among the various test methods for stress corrusiun cracking(SCC) susceptibility evaluatiun, the slow stram rate test(SSHT) method is a rapid and effective nwthod to evaluate the SCC susceptibility of metal in relatively short time. But it is very difficult to analyze the microfracture behaviors in SCC process by using the test(SSRT) method only. Up to now, it has been well known that the acoustic emission(AE) test is the effective technique to monitor the microcrack initiation and propagation in material fracture pmcess. Therefore. in this paper, we analyzed the correlation between the see process and the characteristics of AE signal by using the SSHT and the AE test. According to the test results. the AE signals produced from the material microfracture were clearly depended on the test environment. The AE signal characteristics generated during see process in synthetic sea water were comparatively greater than those. in air. In addition, the SCC behaviors could be definitely evaluated by the amplitude parameter of AE signals.

Isolation of Egg-Contaminating Bacteria and Evaluation of Bacterial Radiation Sensitivity (계란 오염 세균의 분리 및 분리 균주의 감마선 감수성 평가)

  • was performed and Staphylococcus sciuri, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, and Enterococcus faecalis were identified. No Salmonella strain, a typical contaminant of eggs, was found. The radiation sensitivities of isolated bacteria and Salmonella typhimurium, in an inoculated model system, were expressed in $D_{10}$ values. The ranges of $D_{10}$ values shown by S. typhimurium, S. sciuri, B. cereus, E. coli, P. mirabilis, and E. faecalis were 0.365-0.399 kGy, 0.418-0.471 kGy, 1.075-1.119 kGy, 0.280-0.304 kGy, 1.132-1.330 kGy, and 0.993-1.290 kGy, respectively. The growth of all six test bacteria in eggs (inoculated at $10^6-10^7\;CFU/g$) during 3 days of post-irradiation storage at ambient conditions ($25^{\circ}C$) was recorded. S. typhimurium was eliminated by irradiation at 3 kGy, and E. coli and S. sciuri were eliminated by irradiation at 5 kGy. The viable cell counts of B. cereus, P. mirabilis, and E. faecalis in eggs showed 4-6 log reductions after irradiation with 5 kGy.

Evaluation of Acaricidal Effect Against Two-spotted Spider Mite Collected from Strawberry in Greenhouse (딸기 시설 하우스 점박이응애에 대한 살비 효과 평가)

  • In the strawberry cultivation areas and domestic farms, two-spotted spider mites are the most serious pests. It decreases the product yield due to the direct feeding of chlorophyll by the mites resulting in reduced photosynthetic ability of host plant. In this study, a simplified acaricidal effect evaluation system (SAEES) was employed to choose the effective acaricidal products among 10 items based on leaf-dipping bioassay methods. SAEES had the advantage of being able to screen four commercial products with three replications at the same time in the recommended concentration. The susceptible strains (SL_YS) showed a high mortality rate of about 90-100%, whereas the mortality of local strains was differed by each acaricides. It suggests that the acaricide responses of field populations might differ due to spray frequencies and acaricide product. An efficacy index (0.8-1.0) was determined based on the mortality of susceptible strain, which would allow the most effective commercial products to be selected by the range of this index. In summary, SAEES will enable the selection of effective commercial products and contribute to increasing control against T. urticae in strawberries.

Effects of Restaurant Employees' Sense of Humor on Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention (레스토랑 종업원의 유머감각이 직무만족과 이직의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study empirically analyzed the effects of employees' sense of humor on job satisfaction and turnover intention focusing on those who work for restaurants in Seoul to provide preliminary data for effective human resource management in the foodservice industry. In terms of a sense of humor, meta message sensitivity, preference for humor, emotional expression, and coping scale of a sense of humor were drawn as the factors. The findings are as follows. First, among the factors of humor, preference for humor, reaction to humor, and meta message sensibility affected job satisfaction positively in order. On the contrary, emotional expression was found not to affect it. Second, preference for humor and emotional expression affected turnover intention negatively in order whereas meta message sensibility and reaction to humor did not affect it. Therefore, based on the research result that a sense of humor affects job satisfaction and turnover intention, it is needed to recognize the importance of humor and consider evaluation on a sense of humor when screening employees.
