The Influences between New Nurses' Nursing Performance, Emotional Intelligence, Self-resiliency and Core Self-evaluation (신입간호사의 정서지능, 자아탄력성, 핵심자기평가가 간호업무수행에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research of investigating the correlation between new nurses' nursing performance, emotional intelligence, self-resiliency and core self-evaluation. The subjects were 114 new nurses working for less than 12 months at two different hospitals with over 800 beds located in Gyeonggi-do. Between July and November, this study collected the data measured by using a structured questionnaire survey for nursing performance, emotional intelligence, self-resiliency and core self-evaluation. As a result, it was found that there was a difference in the degree of nursing performance according to new nurses' education level, job satisfaction, and working position task satisfaction, and that the higher the emotional intelligence, self-resiliency and core self-evaluation were, the better the nursing performance was. As for emotional intelligence, education level, core self-evaluation and job satisfaction, it was found that they were variables to well predict the degree of nursing performance, and explained 33% of variance in nursing performance. Accordingly, it is necessary to provide actual field-adaptive training education including emotional intelligence and core self-evaluation other than nursing performance from new nurses' orientation in consideration of education degree and job satisfaction.

  • 한국경제 수준의 향상과 보험제도의 도입으로 병원을 찾는 대상자의 수가 증가하게 되었다. 아울러 저렴한 보험숫자가 병원슷가가 병원의 경영난을 초래하게 되므로 병원주는 이를 극복하기 위한 과학적이고 체계적인 병원관리에 관심을 갖게 되었다. 특히 간호부(과)에서도 목적 지향적인 계획과 업무수행에 관심을 갖게 되어 그 관리체계나 간호의 질이 향상하기 시작하였다. 간호의 질을 향상시키기 위한 간호관리란 그 내용이 방대하므로 본 논문에서는 수간호원의 역할에 중점을 두었다. 즉 간호의 질 향상을 위한 평가 중 소급평가로써 퇴원환자 기록지 감사, 퇴원예정환자면접 및 병실 집담회에 관한 내용과 동시 평가로써 환자 기록지 감사 및 환자 면접 내용에 관해서 논하였다. 또한 인력관리를 위해서는 간호원-환자간의 관계, 간호원-의사간의 관계, 직무평가, 업무평가 및 간호인력 활용에 관해서 미국과 한국의 차이점을 제시하였다. 결론적으로 한국의 간호관리는 병원표준화 심사실시 및 간호원의 계속적인 노력으로 많은 향상을 보았으나 아직까지는 간호업무 수행절차에 관한 평가에 불가하므로 목적 지향적인 업무체계화와 한국병원상황에 적합한 평가도구의 틀개발과 질적간호를 위한 적정간호인력의 확보에 관한 노력이 계속되져야 한다고 본다.

Establishing Standards for Nursing Practice (간호업무를 위한 기준확립)

  • 지난 이태 동안, 미국간호협회에서는 5개 분과위원회의 간호원들이 모여 ''간호란 무엇인가?''라는 문제에서 그 기준을 모색하기 위해 고심해 왔다. 공중 보건간호나 노인병간호, 모자보건간호, 일반 내$\cdot$외과간호, 정신과 간호등 다섯 분과위원회는 각분야의 업무평가 기준을 확립하기 위하여 수차 회으를 통하여 각분야의 간호업무 본질을 조사하였다. 이들의 조사결과는 ''간호란 무엇인가''를 확실히 하여 다른 사람을 이해시키고 업무수행 능력의 측정의 기준이 될 것으로 기대한다. 최근에 다섯개분과의 간호원들은 이 결과를 보고하기 위해서 저널지에서 토론하였는데 이 토론 가운데는 각 분과 위원회의 유사점을 비교했고 상반되는 점들을 서로 알게 되었다. 간호원들의 능력을 측정하는 수단 이외에는 어떤 분과도 간호업무의 실행능력 측정의 방법에 대해서 아무 전례도 가지고 있지 못했다. 각 분과회의는 장시간에 걸쳐 맡겨진 분야를 연구하여 초고(草稿)를 만들고 다시 수정하고 난 후에 실무간호원 및 고문으로부터 여러가지 의견을 받아 들였다. 이렇게 하여 간호기준은 여러가지 단계를 거쳐 완성되어 가고 있으며 각 부분이 끝나는 대로 발행될 것이다. 제일 먼저 ''노인병간호'' ''정신과 간호''의 업무기준이 곧 발행될 것이다. 모자보건위원회는 마지막 평가를 받기 위해 각 주에 있는 위원회에 그 간호기준을 보낼 계획이다. 일반 내$\cdot$외과간호 위원회에서는 이미 만들어 놓은 간호 기준을 50명의 전문 간호원들로 페널 디스커?을 가질 계획이며, 공중보건간호위원회는 9월에 열릴 회의에서 마지막 단계로 들어 갈 것으로 보고 있다.

  • This paper review nursing performance in Korea to suggest the direction of future research. A literature review of research nursing performance journal articles was performed. Thirty-three articles were analyzed research design, measurement tools, definition, and variables which with nursing performance. Most of the on nursing performance in Korea descriptive correlation study. There considerable confusion about Korean term and definitions nursing performance. used the instrument developed by Park (1989) to measure nursing performance. The variables with nursing performance leadership and empowerment. No agreement on definitions or concepts of nursing performance evident in Korea. Research on nursing performance that addresses all domains of nursing is needed to analyze the impact of nursing performance on patient and healthcare outcomes.

A Survey of the Nursing Activities Performed by Nursing Staffs in Long-term care Hospitals (요양병원 간호 인력의 간호행위 수행 실태)

  • This study was to investigate of nursing activities performed by nursing staffs in long-term care hospitals. A survey of was conducted with 131 nurses who were working in 15 geriatric hospitals using a structural questionnaire. Data were collected from March 7 to June 30, 2013 and analyzed with SPSS 17.0, using descriptive statistics and t-test, ANOVA. This survey confirmed that the 88 activities except to 'making nursing diagnosis', 'setting nursing goals', and 'writting patient evaluation checklist' had been practiced in a wide range of nurses with nurse assistants. The degree of performance by nurse assistant was significantly different among nurses group according to the total number of patient and number of nurse(p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to establish the legal and institutional regulation and development of algorithm for delegation, classify the impossible nursing task and work that can be delegated long-term care hospital.

Development of a Performance Appraisal Tool for Postoperative Anesthesia Care Unit Nurses (회복실간호사 업무수행평가 도구 개발)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a performance appraisal tool (PAT) for postoperative anesthesia care unit (PACU) nurses. Methods: This study was a descriptive, non-experimental methodological study. The PAT was developed through a literature review and tests for validity and reliability. Results: Subsequent to a review of the literature on nursing performance of PACU nurse, a 63 item questionnaire was developed. Through factor analysis, 61 items in 3 domains with 8 factors were derived. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient of the final instrument was .99. Conclusion: This tool is an efficient PAT for PACU providing meaningful feedback for professional growth in PACU nurses.

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to develop a tool for evaluating nurses' performance by using Balanced Score Card (BSC) in hospital units. Methods: Preliminary survey was done in 10 hospitals to investigate evaluation criteria for nurses' performance. For the main study, each of 14 nursing managers evaluated 2 nursing units (total of 28 nursing units) to verify the sensitivity of the tool criteria. The evaluation result drawn from the preliminary BSC tool was analyzed to verify the sensitivity and validity of the tool. Results: As a result, nurses' performance evaluation tool consisted of 4 categories, 8 objectives, and 14 criteria was developed. Conclusion: The BSC tool for nurses' performance evaluation provides meaningful data in evaluating nursing performance in hospital units.

  • 진료 및 간호서비스는 다른 제조업과는 달리 무형의 서비스에 대한 간접비의 비율이 두드러지는 특성을 지니며, 이러한 특성으로 인해 의료기관의 전략적 계획수립, 수익성 분석, 경제성 분석, 의료서비스 제공의 질 관리 등의 의사결정에 적극 활용되어야 하는 원가 분석에 어려움을 겪어왔다. 전문 간호 분야인 가정간호는 1회 방문 시에 다양한 활동들이 모여서 가정간호서비스가 수행되므로 가정간호의 원가분석에는 각 행위들이 모인 활동에 대한 분석에 근거한 정확한 원가 정보가 요구되고 있다. 활동기준원가의 기본 요소는 자원, 활동, 자원 동인, 활동 동인, 원가 대상이며 이에 따라 가정간호사업에서 활동기준원가의 각 요소를 정의하고 전통적 원가 계산이 아닌 활동을 중심으로 가정간호사업의 업무 알고리즘을 분석하여 활동기준원가관리시스템을 설계한다. 가정간호사업의 활동기준원가관리시스템은 가정간호의 효율적 운영과 의료기관의 경영 개선과 항께 실질적 원가계산을 통해 정부가 건강 보험 수가를 결정하고, 보험 수가의 적절성을 평가하는데 중요한 기초 자료를 제공하게 될 것으로 기대한다.

Developing a Performance Appraisal Tool for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses (신생아중환자실 간호사 업무수행 평가도구 개발)

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop a performance appraisal tool (PAT) for neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) registered nurses (RNs). Methods: The PAT was developed in three steps: 1) a standard of NICU nursing was established; 2) a draft was made; and 3) the PAT was ratified and its reliability and validity were tested. Results: The standard of practice of NICU nursing was predominantly based on role description and responsibilities for nurses. We identified 4 domains of nursing: professional practice, education, research, and leadership. The validity score for each item ranged from 3.93 to 3.27. The PAT consisted of 76 indicators, 49 reflecting components of professional practice, 5 related to responsibility for education, 3 representing research, and 19 relating to leadership. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ averaged 0.99 for the 76 items. Conclusions: The PAT for NICU RNs that we created was found to be reliable and valid. This PAT would be very useful in evaluating nursing performance and facilitate the professional growth of nurses.

Development of Performance Evaluation Tool for Operating Room Nurses (수술실간호사 업무수행평가 도구개발)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a performance tool to evaluate operating room nurses. Method: In the first stage, 59 preliminary items were selected after two focus group meetings were carried out using as background a reference review. At this stage 59 items were developed. Next, the selected preliminary items were modified by an expert group of nurses with over 10 years experience, nurses holding doctoral degrees and professors in nursing. In the third and fourth stage, these items were analyzed by the expert group to determine validity and tested by hospital nurses with over 10 years experience to determine reliability Results: For the final tool, the 59 items, 47 items for the performance evaluation dimension and 12 items for the competence evaluation dimension were found to be valid and reliable. Cronbach's $\alpha$ was .9622, a promising alpha value for the total instrument. Conclusion: This tool is an efficient performance evaluation instrument providing meaningful feedback for operating room nurses.
