A Study on the PRC Generation Algorithms for Virtual Reference Stations Using a Network of DGNSS Reference Stations (DGNSS 기준국 네트워크를 활용한 가상기준국 보정정보 생성 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • For service-area-widening and commercialization of DGNSS service, Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs is developing a DGNSS service based on VRS using T-DMB. In this study, three PRC generation algorithms are developed for VRS DGNSS and their accuracies were evaluated. Three DGNSS correction generation algorithms are based on inverse distance weighting, 1st- and 2nd- multiple linear regression, and their positioning accuracies were compared in terms of the number of reference stations used for network composition and the algorithm type. As a result, the positioning accuracy of the case of using 16 sites is better than that of 6 sites. And the algorithm using the multiple linear regression showed the best performance. When the positioning accuracy of VRS DGNSS was compared with the traditional single-reference DGNSS, the improvement ratio was 20-23% and 20-36% for the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively.

  • This paper researches the estimating location using repeater effect adjustment method in CDMA based system. Repeaters are commonly used by commercial and amateur radio operators to extend signals in the radio frequency range from one receiver to another. The repeater signals are increasing arrival time from base station to mobile station. So if we calculates the mobile station using repeater signals, the estimating position error is increased. However nobody researched about adjusting repeater effects. This paper proposes repeater effect adjustment algorithm. For adjusting repeater effects, we make the triangle using mobile station, reference base station and neighbor base station, and then detect the repeater effects using the triangle characteristic. The proposed method system showed the improved performance in estimating parameters and locating positions by computer simulations.

  • Relative positioning technique by GPS that can obtain the high positioning accuracy has been used for generation of high precision positioning with elimination or the reduction of the common errors. This paper gives some algorithms for RTK and considers the filter to estimate the positioning information and integer ambiguities at each epoch in the whole algorithms. The extended kalman filter has been employed to estimate the state parameters and the modified LAMBDA to resolve the integer ambiguities. The data processing was performed by GPS single frequency and dual frequency in short baseline. The verification procedure of these positioning compared with results from Bernese 5.0 software. We presented some statistic values on positioning errors and the rates of integer ambiguity resolution.

  • 휴대 인터넷은 이동 중에도 무선으로 고속의 데이터 송수신이 가능한 통신 서비스로서 우리나라에서는 WiBro(Wireless Broadband)라고 명명되어 2006년 6월 상용 서비스를 시작하였다. 한국 정보 통신 기술협회(TTA)와 IEEE802.16e 표준에서 제시된 휴대인터넷 서비스는 기본적으로 기지국과 단말을 기반으로 한 CDMA통신 시스템과 유사한 셀룰러 망 구조를 가지고 있다. 와이브로에서 모든 RAS(Radio Access Station)는 매 5msec마다 프레임을 전송하고, 이 프레임의 앞 단에는 Preamble이 위치하고 있어 기지국과 단말의 Synchronization을 가능케 해준다. 각 RAS는 서로 다른 Preamble을 사용하므로 단말은 Preamble detection을 통해 기지국을 구분할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 휴대인터넷을 이용한 무선측위의 해상도 및 가청성을 현장실험을 통하여 분석한다. 현재 상용화 되어 사용중인Wibro 신호를 기저대역으로 낮추고 이 신호를 디지타이저를 사용하여 20MHz의 샘플링 주파수로 수집한다. 5msec 주기의 Wibro프레임 중에서 Preamble을 Correlation detection 기법을 사용하여 기지국과 단말 사이의 relative delay를 측정하여 기지국들과 단말 사이의 거리의 차를 구한다. 거리측정치를 이용하여 Wibro 망에서의 무선측위 추정치를 구하고 해상도와 정확도 및 가청성 등의 Wibro의 측위성능을 분석한다.

Precision Improvement of Indoor Wireless Positioning by Considering Clock Offsets and Wireless Synchronization (클럭 오프셋과 무선동기를 고려한 실내 무선측위 정밀도 향상 기법)

  • Indoor wireless positioning system uses ranging information of beacons in order to precisely estimate a tag location. To estimate distance between each beacons and tag, the system calculates arrival time of a tag pulse with clock of each beacon including independent clock offset. This clock offset seriously affects the performance of ranging and positioning. We propose in this paper a clock offset compensation method to solve this problem. To verify the performance of the proposed method, we simulated location estimation with random clock offset between -1,000ppm and 1,000ppm, and the result shows that the proposed scheme effectively solves the clock offset problem.

  • In this paper, we propose a method that combines KNN(K-Nearest Neighbor), Local Map Classification and Bayes Filter as a way to increase the accuracy of location positioning. First, in this technique, Local Map Classification divides the actual map into several clusters, and then classifies the clusters by KNN. And posterior probability is calculated through the probability of each cluster acquired by Bayes Filter. With this posterior probability, the cluster where the robot is located is searched. For performance evaluation, the results of location positioning obtained by applying KNN, Local Map Classification, and Bayes Filter were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that even if the RSSI signal changes, the location information is fixed to one cluster, and the accuracy of location positioning increases.

Location Estimation Algorithm Based on AOA Using a RSSI Difference in Indoor Environment (실내 환경에서 RSSI 차이를 이용한 AOA 기반 위치 추정 알고리즘)

  • There have recently been various services that use indoor location estimation technologies. Representative methods of location estimation include fingerprinting and triangulation, but they lack accuracy. Various kinds of research which apply existing location estimation methods like AOA, TOA, and TDOA are being done to solve this problem. In this paper, we study the location estimation algorithm based on AOA using a RSSI difference in indoor environments. We assume that there is a single AP with four antennas, and estimate the angle of arrival based on the RSSI value to apply the AOA algorithm. To compensate for RSSI, we use a recursive averaging filter, and use the corrected RSSI and the Pythagorean theorem to estimate the angle of arrival. The results of the experiment, show an error of 18% because of the radiation pattern of the four non-directional antennas arranged at narrow intervals.

Graph-based Wi-Fi Radio Map Construction and Update Method (그래프 기반 Wi-Fi 신호 지도 구축 및 갱신 기법)

  • Among Wi-Fi based indoor positioning systems, fingerprinting localization is the most common technique with high precision. However, construction of the initial radio map and the update process require considerable labor and time effort. To address this problem, we propose an efficient method that constructs the initial radio map at each vertex based on a graph. In addition, we introduce a method to update the radio map automatically by mapping signal data acquired from users to the reference point created on each edge. Since the proposed method collects signal data manually only at the vertex of the graph to build the initial radio map and updates it automatically, our proposed method can dramatically reduce labor and time effort, which are the disadvantages of the conventional fingerprinting method. In our experimental study, we show validity of our radio map update method by comparing with the actual reference point data. We also show that our proposed method is able to construct the radio map with an accuracy of about 3.5m by automatically updating the radio map.

Common Chord based Trilateration Correction Algorithm and Hybrid Positioning System Development (공통현 기반 삼변측량 보정 알고리즘 및 복합 측위 시스템 개발)

  • Indoor positioning based on trilateration using common chord estimates location of a mobile subject by using intersection points between each circles which the radius is same as distance between the mobile subject and each radio-frequency transmitter. However, if the intersection points are not found due to error of the distance measurement, it causes failure of estimating the mobile subject's location. To prevent this case, numbers which is proportionate to radius of each circles, are temporarily added to each distances in order to lengthen radius of the circles. Although the estimated location includes error due to the radius extension, it is corrected again by the added value and distance from reference point. With introduction of the advanced correction algorithm, potential issues of existing trilateration such as failure of estimating location and distance measurement error will be minimized.

  • The signal model and weighted-average based estimation techniques are proposed to estimate the angle-of-arrival (AOA) parameters of multiple clusters for a low data rate ultrawide band (LR-UWB) based wireless positioning system. It is observed that the weighted-average based AOA estimation technique gives an optimal AOA estimate under few clusters condition, and the average based AOA estimation technique gives a correct AOA estimate under many clusters condition through computer simulation. Also, we can observe that the variance estimation error decreases as SNR increases, and the proposed techniques are superior to the conventional technique from the viewpoint of performance.
