Estimating Ancillary Benefits of GHG Reduction Using Contingent Valuation Method (온실가스 감축의 부수적 가치 추정)

  • In the contingent valuation method (CVM) survey, we employed double-bounded discrete choice (DBDC) question to investigate the willingness to pay (WTP). The estimation results for the bivariate logit model show that respondents are willing to pay 329,256 won per year. The model with covariate variables suggests that the covariate effects help describe behavioral or preference tendencies. Double-bounded models increase efficiency over single dichotomous choice models, because the answers yes-no or no-yes yield clear bounds on WTP.

  • The global value chain, as a major feature of the contemporary global economic system, has been mainly led by developed countries. Whereas developing countries have taken the relatively low value-added activities and this made geographical imbalances in value distribution. This imbalance in value distribution, however, began to gradually alleviated. Related to this phenomenon, the purpose of this research is to analyze the factors affecting factors. Focused on the method of upgrading the industry in the global value chain, the impact on the acquisition of value-added in developing countries was analyzed among the various factors to achieve the research purpose. Panel analysis was conducted on all industries, food and tobacco industries, textile and clothing industries, computer and electornics industries, and automobile industries of the OECD Value-Added Trade Data (TiVA). As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that in all industries, value-added acquisition in developing countries was improved by increased total production, high value-added product production and participation in early stage. The analysis results by detailed industry showed slightly different patterns depending on the characteristics of each industry.

Continuance Use Intention of Voice Commerce Using the Value-attitude-behavior Model (가치-태도-행동 모델에 기반한 음성 쇼핑 지속이용의도에 관한 연구)

  • Voice technology allows consumers to make purchases through smart devices, and the interest in voice-driven conversational commerce has significantly expanded. In this study, we explored the continuance use intention of voice commerce, and the adoption of a value-attitude-behavior model. An online survey was conducted on 360 individuals who used an artificial intelligence assistant device in a voice commerce environment. We used Amos 23.0 and SPSS 25.0 for descriptive, confirmatory, and structural equation modeling analyses. These results indicated that functional value was the highest influencing variable on satisfaction of voice commerce, while social, emotional, and epistemic values significantly influenced it as well. Additionally, satisfaction of voice commerce significantly influenced the continuance use intention of voice commerce. These findings could help us understand the characteristics of voice commerce users and the diversity value in voice commerce environment.

The Effect of Relational Benefits on Customer Perception of Value, Satisfaction, and Loyalty in the Specialty Coffee Shop Business (커피전문점 고객이 지각한 관계혜택이 지각된 가치, 만족도 및 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of relational benefits on perceived value in order to enhance customer satisfaction and win customer loyalty in the specialty coffee shop business. Structural equation modeling was performed and the structural model estimated with AMOS (ver 5.0). A total of 329 valid responses were used for data analysis. The findings show that confidence benefits among the relational benefits have a direct effect on perceived value. In addition, confidence benefits also have an indirect effect on customer satisfaction and loyalty from this perceived value. However, social benefits and special treatment benefits of customers had no effect on functional and symbolic value. In conclusion, establishing confidence benefits with the customer at the specialty coffee shop significantly influenced their perceptions of value, customer satisfaction, and loyalty.

Testing the Valuation Effect of Foreign Exchange Risk Insurance in Korea (환헤지가 기업가치를 높이는가? : 환변동보험의 기업가치 효과)

  • We investigate whether FX hedging materially increases firm value by testing the valuation effect of Foreign Exchange Risk Insurance in Korea, using our sample of 84 listed firms with 617 observations between 2000 and 2008, Employing Tobin's Q as a proxy of firm value and foreign exchange risk insurance as a proxy of hedging instrument, we find a positive relation between firm value and the use of foreign exchange risk insurance. The hedging premium is statistically significant and is on average 7.4% of sample firm value. We also find our empirical results consistent with the preceding evidence that firm uses the hedging instrument in order to alleviate economic frictions and then hedging causes an increase in firm value.

  • This paper is a study on the model that measures economic values for the non-market properties of Electronic Commerce(EC). For development of this model, first of all, we reviewed the properties of EC service, and looked around the relation between customer satisfaction and/or payment value and EC properties. In addition, we checked the method to measure economic values of these properties. This measurement method is the contingent valuation method which is a method of measuring the value of the environmental product. We modified it to adapt to the EC. Finally, in this paper, we proposed an economic value model which measures the value of willingness to pay(WTP) to our objectives. However, there could be some restrictions at the time when surveying empirically. Therefore, the succeeding study should be done in order to improve these restrictions some day.

A Study on Economic Valuation Model of Special Libraries (전문도서관 서비스의 경제적 가치평가를 위한 분석모형 개발)

  • This study aims to suggest a new approach to economic valuation of the special library, in response to the necessity of economic justification of the special library operated by firms and research institutes. Benefit measurement elements and analysis methods to be used in the study were derived through feasibility evaluation on models in previous studies, and objectivity and applicability were the criteria for feasibility evaluation. Depending on which type of resources are used in providing service, different benefit measurement elements and methods were applied. Based on this, calculation formula for service valuation of special library was presented. The development of analysis model for economic valuation of special library made it possible to objectively prove the value of the special library, and is considered to provide an opportunity to publicize the real value of the special library.

The Relationships between Values, Brand Attitude and Intended Action in University Tae-Kwon-Do Competition (대학태권도대회의 지각된 가치와 브랜드태도, 행동의도의 관계)

  • The purpose of this research was conducted to provide an implication on the practical strategy method to enhance the awareness of University competitiveness. This research examined the various relations among emotional, social, functional values along with Brand attitude and intentioned action of University Tae-Kwon-Do Competition. Samples were 314 attendees of student and parents at the 2015 University Tae-Kwon-Do competition in Busan area. Collected data was first analysed by exploratory factor analysis then proposed conceptual framework was tested via confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling. The results were as follows: First, emotional and social values of University Tae-Kwon-Do competition had a significant effect on the Brand attitude, however, functional value showed no effect on intended action. Second, emotional, social, functional values of University Tae-Kwon-Do Competition had a significant effect on the intended action. Third, Brand attitude of University Tae-Kwon-Do Competition showed statistical relativeness with intended action.

Estimation on the Future Traffic Volumes and Analysis on Information Value of Tidal Current Signal in Incheon (인천항의 장래 교통량 추정 및 조류신호의 정보가치 분석)

  • This paper estimated the future traffic volume incoming and outgoing in Incheon port, and analyzed the value of information serviced by tidal current signal operation center in Incheon. The cargo traffic in 2020 will increase twice as much as in 2005 according to the national ports basis plan. The maritime traffic will increase greatly consequently. Also, MOMAF has operated tidal current signal operation center to prevent marine accidents caused by current influence on vessels navigating through Incheon. However the quantitative effect is not known because there is no analysis about its value. Therefore the value of information serviced by tidal current signal operation center in Incheon was calculated with contingent valuation method(CVM), and the information value was analyzed considering future traffic in this study. Thus, the annual information value was calculated at about $170{\sim}280$ million won, considered traffic volume using the information of tidal current directly in 2020 since 2006.
