An Application of the Derived Taxonomy of Service Value for University Libraries (대학도서관 서비스 가치의 분류체계 적용에 관한 연구)

  • This paper reports a case study in which Saracevic and Kantor's derived taxonomy of library services was applied to qualitative data gathered from sixteen university library users. Using face-to-face interview method, we collected user responses related to the reasons of using services, aspects of interaction, and results of using services. Specific codes from the taxonomy were applied to the verbal expressions. The results show that library services are being used for a variety of purposes and that this approach enables us to effectively capture and classify service value expressed in users' own words. The taxonomy is evaluated to be quite comprehensive and scalable.

A Study on the Elderly People's Value System of the Public Library Use: Focusing on Public Libraries in Seoul (노인의 공공도서관 이용 가치체계에 관한 연구 - 서울 소재 공공도서관을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the reason and value system of the elderly people on the public library use in Korea. For the purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted for elderly aged over 60, from 15 public libraries in Seoul from October 29 to October 10, 2018, and 306 valid responses collected were analyzed. The value system is based on the Means-end Chain (MEC) Theory, and the linkage between the attributes, consequences, and values of public library use is figured out as a value hierarchy. As a result, the most frequently revealed value system was 'reads or borrows books (attribute) ${\rightarrow}$ gets new knowledge (consequence) ${\rightarrow}$ satisfies oneself (value).' For the value reached by using the public library, both groups answered that their satisfaction, achievement, fun, pleasure, and vitality. However, the elderly aged 65 and over additionally felt that public libraries are good for their mental / physical health. The results showed that the elderly people using the public library feels the traditional functions of the public library as the main attribute, and the public library could provide the elderly people with contribution to the lively old age.

A Cross-Cultural Study of Value Structure and Environmental Consumerism: The Case of Korean and United States Consumers (가치구조와 환경소비주의에 관한 타 문화간 비교연구: 한국과 미국 소비자사례)

  • In an effort to increase our understanding of green buying behavior, the present study proposes and tests a comprehensive model of how values influence attitudes toward the environment and preferences for green products in a cross-cultural setting. Data were collected from a survey with consumers in two cultures, diametrically different on values salient to environmental consumerism, the U.S. and Korea. As a result of model testing both at the national and multi-group levels, a refined, final model is presented. While the core human values were found to relate to environmental attitudes and green buying behavior, the patterns of the relationships among the variables emerged to differ between the two cultures, highlighting the importance of cross-cultural investigations in this area. Results suggest that biospheric values significantly influence environmental attitudes and green consumption in both countries. However, the effects of egoism were significant among American respondents whereas altruism appeared to have a significant influence on attitude and behavior in the Korean sample. Findings of this study should aid international marketers in their understanding of what drives consumers' green buying behavior in different cultural settings.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze character of animation, , on the basis of Greimas' semiotic theory. Animation consists of activities between characters shown in narrative. The characters' activities show their value system and meaning. Hierarchical value system is created in the process that unrevealed, latent value is generated and character's thought and activity enlarge their meanings by creating various relationships with other character. Form this viewpoint, the study tried to analyze systematic characteristic shown in animation character and meaning structure shown in correlation through Greimas' model actant and semiotic square model.

Exploring the Perception Change of the Consumers for the Cultural Heritage Values in the Cultural Heritage Yahaeng (문화재야행 사업에서 소비자의 문화재 가치 인식 변화 요인에 관한 연구)

  • This article is aimed at exploring what factors influence the perception change of the consumers for the cultural heritage values in the case of the cultural heritage policy program entitled with the cultural heritage Yahaeng. The consumers is considered as a key factor in the value creation system of the cultural heritage Yahaeng. It is necessary that the priority of the cultural heritage Yahaeng should be shifted from the supplies to the consumers. The consumer-based model of cultural heritage utilization is used as a theoretical framework. This study examines the influence of cultural heritage authenticity, cultural motivation, management system, loyalty on the perception change of the consumers for the cultural heritage values. This study is empirically examined by the means of a survey conducted on 205 visitors in the case of the Suncheon Yahaeng. The results indicate that the cultural heritage Yahaeng positively influences the perception change of the consumers for the cultural heritage values. In addition, the results indicate that cultural heritage authenticity is the most important factor which positively influences the perception change of the consumers for the cultural heritage values. In addition, the results indicate that cultural motivation positively influences on the perception change of the consumer for the cultural heritage values through the mediating variable of the loyalty. In line with its results, the article recommends that the significance based management system, evaluation system focused on the perception of the consumers for the cultural heritage should be established in the future. The article concludes that the local residents should be importantly considered as consumers and the collaborative partners in the cultural heritage Yahaeng.

  • This study diagnosed the innovation capability of SMEs by utilizing the VIQ(Value Innovation Quotient) and deduced the innovation strategy. VIQ is the diagnosis tool for measuring the innovation capability of the SMEs focusing on the value innovation. SMEs can utilize this tool for diagnosis and deduce the innovation strategy. This study selected the high-growth venture company- K company and analyse it and deduced the innovation strategy. Innovation strategy can be as follows; Firstly, agile strategy formulation tool such as business intelligence and scenario planning should be adopted for the flexible business planning. Secondly, speedy decision making process should be made. Thirdly, open communication and empowerment process should be made. This paper can present the method of evaluating and diagnosis of value innovation capability of SMEs and innovation strategy formulation process.

  • 본 연구에서는 디지털 콘텐츠의 가치를 체계적으로 평가할 수 있는 시스템의 프로토타입을 개발하였다. 개발된 가치 평가 시스템에서는 디지털 콘텐츠의 가치를 기획 단계, 개발 단계, 사업화 단계로 나누어서 평가할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 디지털 콘텐츠를 사업화하는 과정에서 부딪히는 불확실성을 세 가지 시나리오로 나누어서 평가할 수 있다. 이를 통해서 디지털 콘텐츠의 가치를 객관적으로, 체계적으로, 동태적으로 평가할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 디지털 콘텐츠의 기획, 개발, 사업화에 관련되어 있는 구성원들의 이견을 조정할 수 있다. 또한 이 같은 평가 시스템을 활용함으로써 디지털 콘텐츠를 사업화하는 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 위험을 관리할 수 있기 때문에 합리적인 투자 의사결정을 수행할 수 있다.

A Study on the Positive Circle System in Managing Records and Archives by Value Analysis (가치분석에 의한 기록관리 선순환 체계의 모색)

  • In genaral appraisal is process of the determining the length of the time records should be retained, and is defined as selecting records with second value. However, appraisal in boroad term includes analysis which value records have as well as selecting archival records. It means that analysis of Records value is carried and reflected in every processes of maintenance, use and disposition of records. One of characteristic in records and archives management is that records process doesn't finish as one process, but it creates and manages records repeatedly. When another records are created again after the previous process in these system, it should creates records with better value than before. It pursues positive circle system which satisfy users whenever it starts. The study reviewed how analysis of records value is reflected in Records and archival system in Korea, and analysed Public Records and Archives Act to approve it. In results the study suggests having positive circle system finally.

An Empirical Study on the Effects of the Values of Socialism to the Entrepreneurial Intentions of North Korean Refugees (북한이탈주민의 가치체계가 창업의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationship of related variables in order to promote entrepreneurship, which is one way to support the economic independence and stable settlement of North Korean defectors. This study is firstly to examine the influence of individualism and collectivism on entrepreneurial intentions, and secondly, to examine the mediating effect of social adaptability in the relationship between socialist value system and entrepreneurial intention. To this end, a survey was conducted on North Korean defectors, and the empirical analysis target was 223 North Korean defectors. For the verification of the causal relationship between personal disposition and entrepreneurial intention, and the causal relationship between value system and entrepreneurial intention PLS was used. And PROCESS for SPSS Macro was used to verify the mediating effect of social adaptation in the relationship between the value system and entrepreneurial intention. Looking at the results of the empirical analysis, the extraversion factor was found to have a positive effect on the entrepreneurial intention level of North Korean defectors, and the self-fulfillment desire factor was found to have a positive effect on the entrepreneurial intention. It was also found that individualist values have a positive effect on the entrepreneurial intentions of North Korean defectors, and collectivist values do not have a significant effect on the entrepreneurial intentions. As a result of examining the mediating effect of social adaptability between individualism/collectivism and entrepreneurial intention in this study, it was found that individualist value has a direct impact on entrepreneurial intention without engaging social adaptability.

Identifying the Comic Festival's values on the Urban Revitalization: in the case of BICOF (만화축제의 도시 활성화 가치 인식에 관한 연구 : BICOF 사례를 중심으로)

  • This article is concerned with the values of the BICOF in terms of the urban revitalization. The values of the BICOF cover the economic value, social value, cultural value and city image value. The 13 indicators for measuring the values of the BICOF are developed. The article examined how the related stakeholders identified the BICOF's values on the Bucheon City by using AHP method. In addition, the objectives and programmes of the BICOF are analyzed in the perspective of the urban revitalization. As a result, the recognition of the BICOF's values varied according to the stakeholders. In addition, the result of AHP analysis indicates that the cultural values and image values should have priorities in comparison with the social values and economic values. This recognitions is different from the recent formal statements that BICOF's economic values should be emphasized as a priority. The article concludes that the identity of the BICOF should be established in the base of building the value consensus among the related stakeholders.
