Velocity Profile and Wall Shear Stress Distributions of Developing Turbulent Oscillatory Flows in an Oscillator Connected to Straight Duct Located in Exit Region of a Curved Duct (가진 펌프에 연결된 곡관 출구의 직관에서 난류진동유동의 속도분포와 전단응력분포)

  • In the present study, velocity profile and wall shear stress distributions of developing turbulent oscillatory flows in an oscillator connected to straight duct located in exit region of a curved duct was investigated experimentally. The experimental study for air flows was conducted to measure axial velocity profiles, shear stress distributions by using the Laser Doppler Velocimetry(LDV) system with the data acquisition and processing system of Rotating Machinery Resolver(R.M.R) and PHASE software. The results obtained from experimental studies are summarized as follows. The critical Reynolds number for a change from transitional oscillatory flow to turbulent flow was about 7500, in the 60region of dimensionless axial position which was considered as a fully developed flow region. The turbulent oscillatory flow, velocity profiles of the inflow period in the entrance region were gradually developed, but those of the outflow period were not changed nearly. Velocity profiles of inflow and outflow were shown as a symmetric form in a fully developed flow region. The wall shear stress distributions of turbulent oscillatory flow increase rapidly as the flow proceeds to downstream and flow was in good agreement with the theoretically.

  • The urethane based on prototype mold is very useful for making prototype. Especially, the method of stereolithography mold was turned out to be rapid and accurate 3-dimensional modeling data. Urethane resin (TSR-755) has heat resistant and is good for make hundreds of prototypes. In this study, we compared with various designed cooling channel and analyzed of cooling effect and deformation using commercial code Simpoe-Mold for injection mold. As a result, efficiently arranged cooling channel could make 19% of shrinkage to reduce and 46% cooling time to reduce.

  • 본 연구에서는 국내에서도 아직 초기단계 기술이라고 할 수 있는 간섭계를 이용한 주요 시설물(변전소등) 안전 감시 혹은 항만 감시 및 방어용 광섬유 격자 그물망 구현을 위한 광섬유 시스템 적용성을 연구한 것이다. 연구에서는 마흐젠더 간섭계의 구성에 비해 구성이 용이한 Sagnac간섭계를 구성 실험하였다. 이 간섭계의 성능 검증을 위하여 1550nm의 중심파장을 방사하는 레이저, 싱글모드 광섬유, 3${\times}$3 커플러 등의 광소자를 사용하였고, 광섬유의 길이의 변화를 주기 위하여 PZT 위상 변조기에 교류 전원을 인가하여 PZT 위상 변조기의 진동을 유도하였다. 또한, 전체 길이 약 180cm, 17${\times}$7, 철봉의 직경 6m의 철망 구조물을 제작후, 센서 부분의 역할을 담당한 광섬유 케이블을 일정한 간격으로 철망 구조물에 케이블 타이로 고정하였다. 철망 구조물에서 발생할 수 있는 각종 외부 가진에 대해, 철망 구조물에 가속도계를 설치하여, Sagnac 간섭계에서의 광 간섭 신호와 가속도계의 신호를 비교 검증 하였다. 본 실험결과를 통하여 광섬유 펜스는 주요 시설물(변전소등) 안전 감시 혹은 항만 감시 및 방어용 경보 시스템에 적합하다고 판단된다.

  • The calibration technique of Time Resolved Laser Induced Incandescence was investigated both experimentally and numerically by using standard-sized carbon black particles for the instantaneous soot measurement at exhaust tail pipe in engine. The carbon black particles (19nm, 25nm, 45nm and 58nm) used in this study are similar, though not identical, to soot particle generated from flame not only in morphology but also in micro-structure. The amount of soot loading in flow was controled by a diluted gas (nitrogen) and was measured by the gravimetric method at exhaust pipe in calibrator. The successful calibrations of primary particle size and soot mass fraction were carried out at the range from 19nm to 58nm and from $0.25mg/m^3$ to $37mg/m^3$ respectively. And based on these results the numerical simulation of LII signal was tuned and the effect of an exhaust temperature variation on the decay rate of LII signal was corrected.

Theoretical Calculation on Radiation Patterns of Epi-signal in CARS Microscopy (간섭성 반스톡스 라만 산란 현미경 후방 신호지 방사패턴에 관한 이론계산 연구)

  • We theoretically investigated the far-field radiation pattern of epi-signal from a polystyrene sphere in coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microscopy with an objective lens of high numerical aperture. We calculated the field distribution of the incident laser beams under the tight-focusing condition and the far-field radiation pattern through coherent addition of radiation from the nonlinear polarizations (Hertzian dipoles) as the origin of CARS signal generation. The epi-radiation patterns for polystyrene spheres of different diameters are calculated, and the pattern of a sphere is also compared with that of a shell fer a diameter of 1100 nm. We finally show how the radiation pattern of the polystyrene sphere changes as the center of the sphere shifts from the focus of the beam.

사파이어 기판 위에 성장한 N-tyep ZnO Ohmic 접합 연구

  • ZnO는 실온에서 3.37 eV의 큰 밴드갭 에너지와 60 meV의 높은 exciton binding energy를 가지고 있어 광소자를 만드는데 큰 관심을 얻고 있다. 또한 최근에는 ZnO를 기반으로 한 동종접합 전광소자를 만드는데 성공하였다. 그러나 소자의 성능을 높이기 위해 여러 가지 개선할 사항이 있다. 그 중에 하나는 캐리어를 잘 주입 시키기 위한 금속-반도체 접합을 구현하는 것이다. 이러한 문제를 개선하기 위해서는 ZnO 기반으로 한 낮은 비저항을 가진 소자가 필요하다. 일반적으로 n-type ZnO Ohmic 접합에서 쓰이는 금속은 Ti/Au, Ta/Au, Al/Au 등이 있다. 실험방법은 c-plane 사파이어 기판 위에 펄스 레이저 증착 방법으로 3시간 동안 $500^{\circ}C$ 환경에서 ZnO 박막을 성장하고, 표면을 고르게 하기 위해 $1000^{\circ}C$에서 1분 동안 열처리를 진행하였다. 샘플 위에 photo-resist 코팅을 한 다음 transfer length method(TLM)를 이용하기 위해 포토리소그래피 장비를 통하여 샘플을 노광하였다. 그 위에 Ti/Au (30 nm/80 nm)를 E-beam/thermal evaporation으로 증착 하였다. 이는 일반적인 반도체 공정과 Lift-off방식을 이용하여 패터닝 하였다. 샘플을 열처리하는 것은 금속과 반도체의 접촉 접착과 전기적인 성질을 개선하고 응력과 계면 결함을 감소시키기 때문에 샘플을 100, 200, 300, 400, $500^{\circ}C$에서 각각 열처리하였다. 저항을 구하기 위해 각각 열처리된 샘플과 as-deposited의 전류, 전압 특성을 측정하고, 이러한 실험 방법으로 n-type ZnO의 Ohmic 접합을 구현하는 것이 목표이다.

  • 금속 나노구조체에서의 localized surface plasmon resonance와 surface-enhanced Raman scattering 현상은 센서를 비롯한 다양한 응용분야를 가지고 있다. 나노구조체 array 형성을 위한 대표적인 top-down 방식인 e-beam lithography 공정은 제조비용이 매우 높고 대량생산 및 대면적화에도 한계가 있기에 polystyrene(PS) bead의 self-assembly를 이용한 nanosphere lithography와 같은 bottom-up 방식이 폭넓게 연구되고 있다. Closed-packing된 PS bead의 monolayer를 얻기 위해서는 기판의 친수성 처리가 필요한데, 기존의 많은 연구에서는 기판의 표면개질에 화학적 공정을 이용하고 있다. 하지만 이는 기판 선택의 자유도를 떨어뜨리는 원인이 된다. 금속이나 실리콘 기판에서는 산성 용액을 이용한 화학적 처리방법을 적용할 수 있지만 SU-8과 같은 감광액 및 폴리머 기판에서는 산에 대한 내구성이 떨어져 화학적 공정의 도입이 불가능 하기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 한계점을 극복하기 위해 $UV-O_3$ 공정으로 친수성 처리된 다양한 기판에서 spin coating을 통한 PS monolayer를 제조하였는데, UV 램프의 에너지 조절을 통해 기판에 붙어있는 유기물들을 효과적으로 제거할 수 있었고 $O_3$ 생성 및 분해 과정에서 기판 표면에 친수성 화학 작용기를 생성시킬 수 있었다. 제조된 PS layer를 mask로 사용하여 Ag, Al, Au 등 다양한 나노구조체 array를 형성하여 array 주기에 따른 플라즈몬 공명 특성을 분석하였다. 레이저 조사로 나노구조체의 형상을 변화시킴으로써 동일한 물질과 주기를 가진 array에서도 플라즈몬 특성의 변조가 가능함을 확인하였는데, 이는 금속 나노구조체의 응용측면에서 매우 고무적인 발견이다.

K-domain Linearization Using Fiber Bragg Grating Array Based on Fourier Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (광섬유 브라그 격자를 이용한 퓨리어 영역 광 결맞음 단층 촬영에서의 파수영역 선형화)

  • We demonstrate a k-domain linearization using a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) array for Fourier domain optical coherence tomography based on a wavelength swept laser. The k-domain linearization is carried out with an interpolation method using a FBG array with five FBGs. The measured signal-to-noise ratio from the point spread function after k-domain linearization is 12 dB improved over that of without k-domain linearization at the 1 mm depth of the sample. Clear OCT imaging of the slide glass with k-domain linearization could be obtained.

Development of an Optical Measurement System for the Authenticity of Paintings (광학을 이용한 미술품의 표면측정시스템 제작 및 광학적 특성분석을 통한 진위감정)

  • In this paper, we have designed an optical measurement system for authenticity of paintings. Using a simple and compact optical measurement system, the surface characteristics of paintings could be measured, and we obtained information about paintings. First, the paintings that were painted in various colors could give characteristic information on the color of paintings. Second, tomographic information about the surface of a painting could be obtained, using a line laser. To assess the reliability of the optical measurement system, forgeries looking like the originals were created, and we could distinguish the originals from the forgeries through experiment. Thus, we could obtain data about the paintings and create a numerical database.

Conservation of Removing Surface Contaminants on Silla monument at Jungsung-ri using Nd:YAG Laser Cleaning System (Nd/YAG레이저를 이용한 포항중성리신라비 표면오염물 제거와 보존처리)

  • 'Silla Monument Stone in Jungseong-ri, Pohang' was discovered in Pohang City, Gyeongsangbuk Province of Korea in 2009. The monument stone with irregular shape has dimensions of maximum height of 105cm, width of 47.6~49.6cm, thickness of 13.8~14.7cm and weight of 115kg. The results of monument stone was found to be granitite. Conservation treatment procedure was carried out in the order of production of Weathering map, cleaning of surface pollutants, consolidation using ethyl silicate. Black pollutant(crust) that covered more than 60% of the surface was analyzed first in order to remove the pollutants on the surface of the monumental stone by cleaning of surface pollutants using laser. The purpose on analysis was not only to verify the pollutants on the stone but also to carry out preliminary cleaning by securing rocks with same pollutant as the monumental stone. As the results of analysis using p-XRF(PMI. INNOV-X, USA) on the site, high level of Mn and Fe were detected, and the analysis of small section that had been fallen off with SEM/EDX for the purpose of quantitative analysis also detected high level of Mn. The Similar contaminants on Stone secured in the manner described above were made into 10 samples ($5cm{\times}5cm$) and was subjected to preliminary cleaning by Nd-YAG Laser(Laser&Physics, Korea). The results of surface observation through portable microscope during cleaning revealed that the power of 460mJ, wavelength of 1064nm and irradiation frequency of 1,800~2,300 per $25cm^2$ were most effective. Evaluation on the preservative treatment was made through confirmation of the extent of removal through color-difference meter measurement and component analysis prior to and following removal of the pollutants. As the result of color-difference meter measurement increase in the brightness was evidenced by the increase in the brightness ($L^*$)value from 33 to 49, and it was possible to ascertain the reduction in the pollutants as the content of Mn was reduced by about 80% from $50,000{\pm}5,000ppm$ to $10,000{\pm}2,000pmm$ from the result of component analysis.
