The purpose of this study was to show general trends in the psychological environment of family and problem behaviors perceived by adolescents and examine possible changes in such trends in accordance with the individual variables of adolescent, and then find out the effect of these variables on adolescents' problem behavior. The subject were 1374 adolescents of middle school in Busan(male 698, female 676). The main results were as follows : (1) General trends in the degree of parental monitoring showed that girls had more high than boys, and in the degree of family discord, boys showed more high than girls. In the degree of openness of parent-adolescent communication perceived by adolescents showed that girls had more open communication with mother than boys. Such trends in problem behaviors indicated that adolescents had the attention problem most. According to gender, girls had more problems in withdrawal, somatic complain, anxiety/depression, thought problems, attention problems, destructivity/identity, internalizing problems, total behavior problems in comparison to boys. Boys did delinquent behaviors more than girls. (2) For boys, the monthly income of their family, family discord, and the mother-adolescent communication have a significant direct effect on internalizing problems, externalizing problems and total behavior problems. Besides mother's employment and the type of family have a significant indirect effect on behavior problem. For girls, mother's employment, parental monitoring, family discord, and father-adolescent communication have a significant direct effect on internalizing problems. Mother's employment, family discord, mother-adolescent communication have a significant indirect effect on externalizing problems and total behavior problems. Bisides mother's employment, grade, the type of family, dating have a significant indirect effect on behavior problem. (3) The variables to have a significant influence on the parental monitoring showed as the monthly income of their family, dating, mother's employment, the type of family, the family discord showed as mother's employment on the parent-adolescent communication showed as the type of family. (4) Family discord was the most powerful predicator of problem behaviors of middle school students.

To know the characteristics of the unmarried mother. We need to investigate what kind of circumstances the unmarried mother comes from and under which conditions created her situation. This investigation's purpose is to provide general information on how to prevent this situation. There are many unmarried mothers registered in support groups for single mothers in A City. We surveyed 67 single mothers registered from Nov. 1 '96 - April 30 '97. The questions of the survey asked for general characteristics, family background, friendship, attitude and knowledge toward sex and the relationship with the baby's father. We analysed this research data into a percentages.

This is a case report of a patient with Tourett's disorder treated by Ukgan-san. We evaluated the patient Tourett's disorder by behavior and sound. His tic behaviors like eye blinking, shoulder shrugging, head jerking, facial frimace have been shown frequently, and His phonic tic symptoms like coughing, throat clearing, sniffing have been presented frequently, too. We diagnosed his condition as Wind-syndrome Caused by Hyperactivity of Liver-yang by patient's redish face, taut pulse, Left umbilical throb. So we treated the patient with Ukgan-san. and the score of Yale Global Tic Severity Scale(YGTSS) was 30 at the start of treatment. and the score of YGTSS was 3 at the end. We found that Ukgan-san was effective for the patient with Tourett's disorder.

Various kinds of living circumstances are making population structure of Korean changed. That is, number of the children is decreased and that of the aged is increased. It is predicted that population of the children and the aged will be almost same until 2020. With above, as the expectation of the aged on healthy living might be increased, some special programs for the aged will be needed strongly. At this point, Korean aged population might be economically poor, comparing with other generation. In general, economic factor affects the subjective living-satisfaction and health status of them. Moreover, educational status, household shape and family tieing also affect their health status. According to the foreign articles, health status of the aged might be related to income, educational status, job, employed or/not, marital status, family structure, sex, and childhood condition. decrease of the income or unemployment could make the death rate of the aged higher. During childhood, discordance among the family might affect their health status after. IGUR is also important factor to affect the adulthood health. Positive life style of the aged would lessen their unequality of the health among them. Nutritional status of the Korean aged population might be indicated under the nutritional recommendation. Purpose: This study is to understand how community members perceive past life recollection and preparation for death. Methods: Using a questionnaire, we surveyed 160 adult residents of one of the districts (gu) in Seoul, Korea. Descriptive statistics were used. Results: Participants chose their 30s and 40s as the most difficult time in their lives. The most painful experience was "an illness of a family member", followed by "trouble with a spouse", and "trouble with children". As for the most difficult social experience, "sense of loss in life" was ranked the highest. Personally, the happiest time was "accomplishment of a goal", while it was "happiness through children" in family relationship and "contribution to society through my career" in social life. As for the most regrettable experience, personally "having lived without purpose" was the highest, "not meeting my parents' expectation more" in family relationship; "not providing sufficient education" in relationship with children; "not having an occupation that I wanted" in work life, and "lack of social skills" in social life. More than 87% of the surveyed showed a positive attitude about the system of the do not resuscitate (DNS) order. For a situation where participants were supposed to have an incurable disease, "I want to be notified of the true condition" and "I want to write a will and advanced directives" ranked high, receiving more than 3.1 points out of 4. Conclusion: These results demonstrate the need for death education to provide people with an opportunity to accept their regrettable experiences in the past as part of their life. Also, this study suggests the importance of writing advanced directives for people to prepare for "death with dignity" how it can help their decision to be better respected.
