Intergenerational support and marital satisfaction in Korea and Japan: A comparative study using the EASS2006 (남편 부모 및 부인 부모와의 지원 양상의 특징과 기혼 자녀의 결혼 생활 만족도와의 관계 -EASS*2006 데이터를 이용한 한일 비교-)

  • This study examined the effect of intergenerational support provided by husbands and wives to their parents and vice versa on marital satisfaction of grown-up children. The study consisted of 229 married men and 319 married women in Korea and 220 married men and 249 married women in Japan. EASS2006 data were used in the analysis. Among Korean males, scores for marital satisfaction were highest among those who frequently offered financial support to their own parents and their spouse's parents. Among Korean females, scores for marital satisfaction were highest among those who offered daily support to their own parents. Among males and females, scores for marital satisfaction were highest among those who frequently received financial support from the husband's parents. In the case of Japanese males, scores for marital satisfaction were highest among those who no provided daily support to their own parents and to their spouse's parents.

A study on the relationship between perceived family support and satisfaction of clinical practice by dental hygiene students (치위생과 학생이 지각한 가족지지와 임상실습 만족도와의 관계연구)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the degree of family support and the degree of satisfaction in clinical practice by dental hygiene students. Methods : In this study, convenience sampling was conducted in 272 dental hygiene students from 3 dental hygiene colleges in South Jeolla Province, from October 4 through 15, 2010. A survey was conducted by using structured questionnaires. The data was analyzed by t-test, a one way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results : Family support according to general characteristics showed a significant difference by economic status(p<0.001), satisfaction of major(p<0.01), and interpersonal relationship(p<0.05). Satisfaction degree on clinical practice according to general characteristics showed a significant difference by satisfaction of major(p<0.05) and interpersonal relationship(p<0.05). The relationship between generally perceived family support correlated with the degree of satisfaction in clinical practice(r=.154, p<0.05). Conclusions : It was found that a higher degree of satisfaction in clinical practice depends on a higher degree of family support. Therefore it is required to program development to improve satisfaction level of clinical practice by family support.

The Relationship between the Satisfaction of the Present and the Future Time Use and the Self-Identity of College Students (대학생의 시간사용 만족수준과 자아정체감 관계)

  • The purpose of this study were to examine the time use of college students, and then to investigate the relationship between the satisfaction of the time use and the self identity. The subjects were 249 students in college. It was analyzed by using frequency, mean, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range analysis. The results were as follows: 1. College students were used to employ many obligate time including studying. Their peak time was 10 a.m., 6 p.m. or 10 p.m., and their slump time was from 7 a.m. to 9, or from noon to 2 p.m.. They enjoyed on weekend, and then tired on Monday. 2. College students were satisfied with the future time use than the present. In survey of self-identity inventory, they lacked confidence in their future, but they oriented their goal and were familiar with the social network. 3. The more college students satisfied time use, the more the level of self-identity was high. This, it was suggested the program of time management for college students.

The Effects of Consumer Perception and Propensity on Satisfaction and Switching Intention (소비자 지각 및 성향이 만족도와 전환의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Research has emphasized that relationship marketing programs enhance customer satisfaction and reduce switching intentions by building switching barriers. However, the psychological reactance theory demonstrates that building switching barriers can make customers fsel that the alternative not chosen is more attractive, because their freedom of choice has been deprived. It can be hypothesized that a relationship marketing program, which is intended to offer various benefits to customers, may not result in positive customer attitude and behavior. This paper examines the effects of relationship marketing programs on customers' perceptions of switching cost and loss of freedom. The effects of those perceptions on customer satisfaction and switching intentions were identified. In addition, the moderating role of personal reactance was examined. The results of this study suggest that (1) perceived switching cost has significant influence on boosting perceived loss of freedom; (2) perceived loss of freedom has no significant effects on customer satisfaction; (3) perceived loss of freedom enhances customers' switching intentions. Furthermore, psychological reactance has a significant influence on customers' switching intentions. This study concludes that the role of relationship marketing programs should be reconsidered, especially in terms of customers' switching intentions. Customer satisfaction is not the key factor of predicting customers' future behavior.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships among social activities, self-efficacy and the level of life satisfaction of the elderly. 394 structured questionnaires were collected from the elderly aged 60 plus who live in Joonggu, Dajeon City, and the frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were carried out through SPSS Ver 18.0. The results were as follows. First, the frequencies of the learning and cultural activity, social collective activity and family community activity showed relatively high. The participation frequencies showed as 30% for one or two times per week and 20% for nearly no. And the participation time lasted only one or two hours which meat very low level. Second, the positive cognition on the participation in social activities and taking an active part in social activities had an positive effect on self-efficacy and the level of life satisfaction of the elderly.

  • Through this study, the policy proposals were intended to be presented to the head of the farming policy. Therefore, the meaning of this study is as follows. First, rather than judging the returning farmer on his own, he should provide sufficient information to consult with his family and increase access to agriculture. Second, by opening up SNS and YouTube to returning farmers, they should instill confidence in rural areas by providing them with information about the joy of rural life and the success of farming so that they can easily access information about rural life through villages, youth associations and women's associations. Efforts should be made to create vibrant rural areas by providing infrastructure around farmland, providing various amenities for settling young people and forming a family farmers' association. Third, the head of the return farming policy should come up with customized support policies for the return farming (e.g., one-year farm support, free farm support, institutional sales guarantee, tourism in advanced countries, modernization of farmland facilities). Public relations strategies should also be strengthened so that such policies can lead to agriculture. Finally, the government should provide subsidized economic activities (e.g. Airbnb, donation of expertise and work-related personnel before returning home, rural experience, etc.).

The Relationship between Person-Centered Nursing and Family Satisfaction in ICUs (중환자실에서의 인간중심 간호와 가족 만족도 관계)

  • Purpose : This study aims to identify the relationship between person-centered critical care nursing (PCCN) and family satisfaction for intensive care unit (ICU) nurses. Methods : This research used a cross-sectional survey. The participants were 142 nurses and 121 family members from 8 ICUs in 4 hospitals in B city. The questionnaire survey was conducted between December 2018 and March 2019. The eight ICUs were divided into those that scored high and those that scored low for person-centered care relative to the average score for PCCN, and the difference in family satisfaction between the ICUs with high and low scores was compared using t-test. Results : The mean score of PCCN was $3.68{\pm}0.40$ out of 5. In the subcategories of PCCN, "comfort"was the highest at $3.95{\pm}0.49$, followed by "respect" at $3.73{\pm}0.57$, "compassion" at $3.59{\pm}0.57$, and "individuality" at $3.47{\pm}0.54$. The average score of family satisfaction with the ICUs was $3.45{\pm}0.67$ out of 5. In its subcategories, "emotion" was the highest at $3.69{\pm}0.72$, followed by "information" at $3.61{\pm}0.75$, "participation" at $3.30{\pm}0.79$, and "resources" at $3.20{\pm}0.80$. The family satisfaction ($3.75{\pm}0.54$) with the ICU of the highest-scoring PCCN was significantly higher than the family satisfaction ($3.25{\pm}0.53$) with the ICU with the lowest-scoring PCCN (t=4.97, p<.001). Conclusion: The results suggest that the PCCN scores of ICU nurses should be promoted to improve family satisfaction. It is necessary to pursue a variety of ways to secure the provision of person-centered nursing practice in ICUs.

Study on Divorce Caused by Extramarital Relationship : Content Analysis on TV Drama : "Couples Clinic: Love or War" (혼외관계를 사유로 하는 이혼에 관한 연구: 드라마 "부부클리닉 : 사랑과 전쟁"의 내용분석을 중심으로)

  • This study is to explore how TV drama describes divorce process by the reason of extramarital relationship in the drama. To explore this subject, 30 drama synopses delineating extramarital relationship were analyzed. The results revealed that most of the couples had difficulties in emotional relationship and communication. The couples relationship was described traditionally patriarchal: husbands showed their authorities and wives showed dependency on their husbands. The partners of extramarital relationship were the lovers before current marriage. The patterns of extramarital relationship included 'intention to look for vitality despite satisfying current marriage' for the husbands and 'intention to avoid dissatisfied current marriage temporally' or 'to maintain marriage despite dissatisfaction' for the wives. For those who married 6 years and longer, more extramarital relationship was accepted as a terminator of the marriage. And in many cases, the divorce dose not mean to maintain the relationship with extramarital partner but to collapse of trust in partner. The results imply that the social work needs to be more sensitive to middle-class couples' communication and relationship problems. This will lead to the development of the social work intervention program for the couples.

The Structural Relationship between LOHAS Image, Well-being Menu, Emotional Response, Satisfaction and Loyalty of Hotel Restaurants (호텔레스토랑의 LOHAS 이미지, 웰빙메뉴, 감정 반응, 만족 및 충성도 간의 구조관계 분석)

  • Thus purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationship among the LOHAS image of hotel restaurants, customer well-being menu preference, emotional responses, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. To test the hypotheses, a survey was conducted of luxury hotel customers in Busan and Seoul. Of the 400 questionnaires distributed 341 was used final analysis. For the hypotheses testing, frequency analysis, reliability and validity analyses SPSS was used while AMOS was employed to examine the relationship among the measured concepts. The results of testing are shown as follows: LOHAS image of hotel restaurants does have a positive effect on well-being propensity, as well as on customer emotional responses. The cooking function factor of well-being propensity results in a negative emotional responses, while the attractiveness factor of well-being propensity brings about a positive emotional responses. Emotional responses positively affect customer satisfaction, which then positively influences customer loyalty. The arising concept of LOHAS in the service industry can help to develop new menu items for LOHAS or well-being oriented customers. In particular, well-being menu propensity and emotional responses may become more important considerations in marketing strategy formation. This thesis provides a theoretical background of LOHAS image, well-being menu propensity, and emotional responses.

A Study on the Effects of Service Quality Factors of Companion Animal Online Shopping Malls on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty (반려동물 온라인 쇼핑몰의 서비스품질이 고객만족과 충성도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • As pets such as dogs and cats have been accepted as family members and companions, calling them companion animals has become more and more common. As the trend of identifying companion animals with humans and treating them as members of a family is spreading, people are more concerned about food, health, and leisure for companion animals, searching for expensive products, and accelerating the growth of related businesses. This study collected data by conducting an online questionnaire targeting customers who visited online companion animal shopping malls. Data collected only for people who have purchased companion animals at least once in online shopping malls for companion animals were used for empirical analysis. Questionnaires from 205 people were collected, but a total of 198 copies were used for the analysis, excluding the questionnaire that gave an insincere response. The results are as follows. First, through exploratory factor analysis, it was confirmed that the service quality factors of the online shopping mall for companion animals consisted of four dimensions: communication-transaction, safe security, design, and information provision. Second, it was found that communication-transactions, information provision, design, and safe security, which are the service quality factors for companion animal online shopping malls, all have a significant positive (+) effect on customer satisfaction. Third, it was confirmed that customer satisfaction in online shopping malls for companion animals had a significant positive (+) effect on loyalty. Fourth, in the relationships between service quality factors (communication transaction, safety security, design, information provision) and loyalty of companion animal online shopping mall, it was confirmed that customer satisfaction has complete mediating effects.
