Ergonomic evaluation for the safety of machinery and construction of modified data based for a hand and an arm of Korean human body (한국인 인체 중 손과 팔의 기계류 안전에 대한 인간공학적 평가 및 DB 구축)

  • 본 연구에서는 한국인 인체 자료를 바탕으로 감성환경에 적용하기 위한 기계류 안전에 대한 설계 및 측정 자료의 DB를 구축하고 인간공학적으로 평가하였다. 연구 내용은 기계류 안전에 대한 국제 표준 규격(ISO 15534)과 관련된 총 23가지의 인체 치수 자료이다. 유럽인을 모집단으로 하여 측정된 표준 규격에 비해 일치하지 않거나 측정에서 누락된 한국인 자료에 대해 몇몇 가정을 통해 수정함으로써 표준 규격에 상응하는 한국인 인체 자료를 생성시키는 기법을 개발하였다.

  • 본 연구는 디스플레이 제품의 OSD(On Screen Display) 메뉴의 문자 오류 검사 과정을 자동화하는 방법과 FMM 신경망을 이용한 실시간 문자인식 방법을 제안한다. 이는 일반적인 문자인식 문제와는 달리 시스템 환경에 대한 몇 가지 가정과 제약조건을 고려해야 한다. 예컨대 문제의 특성상 카메라 및 TV제어 기기부의 동작과 연동하는 작업 스케줄링 기능과 실시간 분석기능 등의 요건은 시스템개발을 복잡하게 하는 반면, 주어진 OSD 메뉴 데이터로부터 검증과정은 미지 패턴에 대한 인식과정을 단순화하여 일종의 판정(decision) 문제로 고려될 수 있게 한다. 본 연구에서는 디스플레이 제품의 OSD 메뉴와 같이 특수한 구조를 갖는 문서영상에 대한 논리적인 구조분석을 통해서 연속적인 문서영상을 발생시켜서 검증과정을 자동화하는 작업스케줄링 방법을 제안하고 인식의 방법론으로서 수정된 구조의 FMM신경망을 적용한다. 또한 실제 데이터를 사용한 실험결과를 통해 시스템의 유용성을 고찰한다.

Improving System Performance by Modifying Hierarchical Ring (계층 링 구조의 변형을 통한 시스템 성능 개선)

  • 이 논문에서는 기존의 계층 링을 수정한 Torus Ring을 제안한다. Torus Ring은 계층 링과 완전히 동일한 복잡도를 가지면서도 지역 링간의 연결 방법만을 변경한 형태의 상호 연결 망이다. 이 연결 망은 역방향 인접 링에 대한 요청에서 흡수의 이득을 봉으로써 평균 흥 수를 감소시킨다. 또한 접근의 지역성을 고려하지 않은 균등분포의 가정 하에서도 평균 흡수의 기대 값에서 계층 링과 동일한 값을 가지며, 실제 병렬 프로그램이 수행되는 환경에서는 인접 링에 대한 통신 비율이 증가할 가능성이 크기 때문에 더 큰 흡수의 이익을 기대할 수 있다. 실험 결과 상호 연결 망의 요청과 응답의 지연 시간 단축되었으며, 이러한 응답 지연 시간의 단축이 수행 시간을 최대 7%까지 감소시키는 결과를 가져 왔다.

  • Marston (1913) and Spangler's (1982) theory was widely used in the analysis of the earth pressure of the narrow and long excavated ditch type backfield ground. Their theory was more clearly explained by expressing the minor principle stress arch connecting the minor principle stress link induced by interaction between the excavated wall surface and the backfilled earth. which was done by R.L. Handy(1985). Later C.G. Kellogg(1993) extended the study from vertical symmetric to incline symmetric in the backfill space type research. In the C.G. Kellogg's study, it is assumed that the resistance of wall friction on the sloping wall could be replaced by the internal friction angle in the sloping section bottom. In the study, the resistance of wall friction in the sloping section bottom, which was applied by C.G. Kellogg, would be different in magnitude with the resistance of wall friction in sloping section. The magnitude is expected to affect in the earth pressure calculation and verified by the soil test box, the C.G. Kellogg's theory, the numerical analysis and the modified C.G. Kellogg's theory considering the friction resistance to influence the incline wall.

  • Assumption-based truth maintenance system (ATMS) is a tool that maintains the reasoning process of inference engine. It also supports non-monotonic reasoning based on dependency-directed backtracking. Bookkeeping all the reasoning processes allows it to quickly check and retract beliefs and efficiently provide solutions for problems with large search space. However, the amount of data has been exponentially grown recently, making it impossible to use a single machine for solving large-scale problems. The maintaining process for solving such problems can lead to high computation cost due to large memory overhead. To overcome this drawback, this paper presents an approach towards incrementally maintaining the reasoning process of inference engine on cluster using Spark. It maintains data dependencies such as assumption, label, environment and justification on a cluster of machines in parallel and efficiently updates changes in a large amount of inferred datasets. We deployed the proposed ATMS on a cluster with 5 machines, conducted OWL/RDFS reasoning over University benchmark data (LUBM) and evaluated our system in terms of its performance and functionalities such as assertion, explanation and retraction. In our experiments, the proposed system performed the operations in a reasonably short period of time for over 80GB inferred LUBM2000 dataset.

The Relationship Between Mothers' Safety Knowledge and Home Safety Practice (어머니의 안전 지식과 가정 안전 실천간의 관계)

  • This purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of safety practice and safety knowledge according to background variables of mothers and the relationship between practice and knowledge in safety of mothers. The subjects were 143 mothers in Iksan city. A questionnaire was made by the researcher on the basis of relevant materials. The data was analyzed by statistical methods such as frequency, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe and Pearson's correlation. The results are as follow: First, mothers' safety knowledge was higher than average. There were significant differences in emergence care, dangerous material, toy safety and young children' developmental character according to mothers' age. There were significant differences in dangerous situation, young children' developmental character and sum score of safety knowledge according to mothers' educational level. So there were significant differences in electrical fire safety, young children's developmental character according to children's age. Second, mothers typically practiced home safety. There were significant differences bathroom, entrance according to mothers' age. And there were significant differences room, kitchen and sum score of safety practice according to children's age. Third, there is no correlation between mothers' safety knowledge and home safety practice.

Earth pressures acting on vertical circular shafts considering arching effects in c-${\phi}$ soils: I. Theory (c-${\phi}$ 지반에서의 아칭현상을 고려한 원형수직터널 토압: I. 이론)

  • Several researches have been done to estimate the earth pressure on a vertical circular shaft considering three dimensional arching effect and verified them by conducting model tests. However, any equation suggested so far is not applicable in case of multi-layered soils and/or C-${\phi}$ soils. In this study, new equation for estimating the earth pressure acting on the vertical shaft in c-${\phi}$ soils is proposed. A parametric study is performed to investigate the significance of the cohesion when estimating the coefficient of earth pressure in C-${\phi}$ soils and estimating earth pressures in vertical shafts. A method which can estimate the earth pressure on vertical shafts in layered soils is also proposed by assuming a failure surface in layered soils and using the modified equation. This paper is Part I of companion papers focusing on the theoretical aspect of model developments; the experimental verification will be made in Part II.

Development of Educational Materials as a Card News Format for Milk Intake Education of the Elderly in Korea (노인 대상 우유 섭취 교육을 위한 카드뉴스 개발)

  • This study was performed to develop educational materials in the form of card news that can be easily accessed on mobile phones or the Internet for milk intake education of the elderly based on the scientific evidence and their needs. The themes included in the card news were selected based on the literature and focus group interviews with 10 elderly individuals (78.10±6.66 years old). For the selected themes, information that elderly users most want to know was selected for the purpose of effective communication, while reflecting the eating habits, lifestyle, living environment, and nutrition and health status of the elderly in Korea. The draft of the card news was reviewed by the researcher, consulted by experts, and surveyed with 50 elderly individuals (70.44±5.16 years old). Based on the results of the review, consultations, and the survey, a final draft of the card news consisting of 12 pages was completed. The card news of the present study is expected to be an effective educational material considering the high level of satisfaction (higher than 4 on the 5-point scales) indicated by the survey respondents. Therefore this card news is expected to help increase milk intake through friendly milk education for the elderly.

  • This paper proposes a method for extending simulating fluid on mobile device, which was only possible on desktop PC. Fluid simulation is done by solving Navier-Stokes equation numerically, and previous research were mainly focused on numerical stability [1], and realism [2]. However, such methods assume rich computational resources, which is not available on mobile devices. On the other hand, rigid-body solver is the mostly used physically-based technique [3], and only simple height field-based method is released for fluid simulation [4]. To overcome these problems, we proposes a modified incompressible fluid dynamics solver for the mobile device, and also we propose a technique for visualizing fluids on the mobile device.

Analysis of the Content Components of 'Consumer Life' Area of Middle School Home Economics Curriculum of the U.S.: Focusing on the States of Ohio, Minnesota, and Wisconsin (미국 중학교 가정과 교육과정의 '소비생활' 영역 내용요소 분석: 오하이오, 미네소타, 위스콘신 주를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive implications for Korean home economics curriculum to emphasize consumer competency of adolescents by analyzing the content components of consumer competency presented in 'consumer life' area of middle school home economics curriculum of 3 states in the U.S. The analysis results and implications are summarized as follows: First, the U.S. home economics curriculum is composed of various contents, including credit management, savings/investment/ insurance, taxes, and financial situation, and financial decision-making, to improve adolescent's understanding of finance. In the next revision of Korean curriculum, for financial stability in prolonged life after retirement, it is would be necessary to include contents on basic financial knowledge and technology for financial information utilization so that students can establish financial plans for different life stages in consideration of various variables such as changes in economic environment, etc. Second, the U.S. home economics curriculum was developed to help students make better purchase decisions by applying economic concepts such as prices and interest rates, economic trends and the impact of demand and supply, purchase methods and contract conditions, etc. However, Korean home economics curriculum only focus on purchase plan and purchase decision-making process. It would be necessary to foster consumer transaction competency by introducing economic concepts suitable middle school level. Third, to emphasize "consumer civic competency", Ohio was focusing on "claim of consumer rights" and Wisconsin was focusing on the "acceptance of consumer responsibility." In order to enhance adolescent's consumer civic competency, it would be necessary for Korean curriculum to balance the claim of right and the acceptance of consumer responsibility in the following term, and to emphasize the contents on consumer policies, laws and consumer advocacy to create a consumer environment where consumer sovereignty is realized.
