The Elementary School Teachers' Thoughts of the Classification Criteria for Evaporation and Boiling Concept in the Heating and Non- Heating Conditions (가열과 비가열 상황에서 증발과 끓음 개념에 대한 초등교사들의 분류 기준에 대한 생각)

  • The purpose of this study was to survey the elementary school teachers' thoughts of the classification criteria for evaporation and boiling concept in the heating and non-heating conditions. For this purpose, we conducted a survey and interviews with 37 elementary school teachers. When the heating conditions were presented, many teachers thought evaporation phenomena as boiling. In opposite condition, many teachers thought boiling phenomena as evaporation. This means that teachers‘ thought of boiling phenomena was connected with heating conditions and evaporation phenomena with non-heating conditions. In addition, the classification criteria to distinguish evaporation and boiling phenomena depending on the heating and non-heating conditions were not coherent. In this study, we suggested that a various cases beyond the typical case must be presented in the textbooks and teaching in order to avoid confusion of thoughts related to evaporation and boiling concepts.

Effect of Pre-heating Conditions on Extraction Yield of Phelinus linteus Tea (가열 전처리 조건이 상황버섯 차의 추출수율에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, the optimum pre-heating condition was investigated to improve water extraction yield of Phelinus linteus tea. Pre-heating was carried out using drying oven or hot plate at different temperatures and times, and extraction yield was estimated by measuring optical density at 370 nm and soluble solid content. The highest optical density and soluble solid content of Phelinus linteus tea were observed when pre-heated at $70{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes in drying oven. Pre-heating in drying oven resulted in also faster color changes of Phelinus linteus tea at lower temperature. According to the organoleptic evaluation, pre-heated Phelinus linteus tea in drying oven at $70{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes was preferred compared to the non-treated. In conclusion, pre-heating in drying oven at $70{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes was found to be the most efficient conditions to increase extraction yield of Phelinus linteus tea.

Survey of High School Students' and Chemistry Teachers' Perceptions on Evaporation and Boiling in the Situations of Heating and Non-Heating (가열과 비가열 상황에서 증발과 끓음에 대한 고등학생과 화학전공 교사들의 인식 조사)

  • This study researched 122 high school students?and 97 chemistry majored teachers?perceptions on evaporation and boiling compared heating and no heating situations. From the results, it was found that the teachers?thoughts of evaporation and boiling depend on the situation were stable, but students?thoughts were depend on the situations. The high school students thought evaporation as boiling on the situation of heating and thought boiling as evaporation on the situation of no heating. These phenomena were related to the explanations of science textbooks. In many textbooks, evaporation concept was explained in the situation of no heating and boiling concept was explained in the situation of heating.

Heating Experiment of Fireproof Board using the Dry Process Bottom Ash and Oyster Shell (굴 패각과 건식공정 바텀애시를 사용한 내화보드의 가열실험)

  • This study is a research about performance of fireproof board using industrial waste such as oyster shell and dry process bottom ash through the heating test and conclusions were obtained as follows. Test samples show back side temperatures as follows : in $300^{\circ}C$, $103.1{\sim}125.1^{\circ}C$, in $600^{\circ}C$, $201.1{\sim}210.1^{\circ}C$, in $900^{\circ}C$, $249.2{\sim}276.9^{\circ}C$. In the test, temperature increases of specimens of fireproof board are kept at certain temperatures hence it could be concluded that the specimens withstand high temperatures. According to the test, it could be concluded that fireproof board made by smaller particles shows better performance up to $600^{\circ}C$ while at higher temperatures, fireproof board made by bigger particles shows better performance. It is estimated that fireproof board made by particles of bigger size has more pore structure and it delays heat conduction.

  • The most important thing is to analyze the Fast Cook Off problem of the solid motor case exposed to direct flame is a heat transfer analysis. Heat causes degradation and ignition of the propellant. To archive an acceptable reaction level in Fast Cook Off, the rocket motor case generally must fail structurally prior to propellant ignition. We investigate the responses of the solid motor case exposed to Fast Cook Off by using finite element method for the thermal analysis.

KT-1 토카막의 전자석 코일에 의한 유도가열탈리

  • 토카막(Tokamak)에서는 플라즈마(plasma)로 불순불(impurity)의 유입을 방지하기 위해 고진공을 유지해야 하며 이를 위해 가열탈리(backing), 방전세정(discharge codanning) 등 wall conditioning이 기본적으로 요구된다. KT-1 토카막은 실험실 이전에 따른 해체로 인해 진공용기(vacuum vessel) 가 대기압 하에 수개월 동안 노출되어 있었기 때문에 재조립 후 가열 탈 리가 필수적이나 진공용기의 외부에 saddle loop coil을 비롯해 Rogowski, diamagnetic coil, poloidal field coil 등 많은 magnetic pick up coil 들이 설치되어 있어 열선 등 일반적인 방법으로 가열 탈 리가 어려운 상황이다. 따라서 KT-1 토카막에서는 전자석 코일에 상전원을 부가하였을 때 진공용기에 발생하는 유도가열 (inductive heatin)을 이용해 가열 탈리를 시도하였다. 유도 가열 탈리(inductive backing)는 토로이달 자장 코일(toroidal field coil)과 가열 저장 모일(ohmic heating coil)을 각각 이용하여 코일의 온도가 6$0^{\circ}C$ 이하가 유지되는 코일 전류 범위내에서 수행하였으며 먼저 이 둥 경우에 있어서 진공용기의 온도분포를 비교하엿다. 그리고 가열 탈리 기간 및 그 전, 후의 진공압력과 잔류기체 분압을 측정, 분석하였다. 유도가열에 의한 방법으로 KT-1 토카막에서 얻은 탈리온도는 12$0^{\circ}C$정도로 비교적 낮았으나 탈리 시간을 연장하여 탈리효과를 어느 정도 보상할 수 있으며 일반적인 가열 탈리가 여려운 경우 유도 가열 탈 리가 채택될 수 있는 또 하나의 방법이라 볼 수 있다.

  • Simulation for product design requires a lot of causal knowledge. Hence, knowledge integration is required for obtaining a new knowledge from existing knowledge. For example, a user requests knowledge for the heating cup. However, the knowledge base only has knowledge for heating and cup, not heating cup. At his situation, knowledge integration can generate a new heating cup knowledge from existing heating and cup knowledge. Therefore, the user can obtain the knowledge for heating cup. Hence, this study aims to propose a novel knowledge integration method for product design.

  • 출판상황이 갈수록 암울해지고 있다.근래들어 종이값이 한달이 멀다 하고 뛰고, 그것도 없어 책을 못만드는 기현상이 벌어지고 있다. 도서대여점은 암세포처럼 순식간에 퍼져나가 유통의 모세혈관을 막아버렸고, 얼마남지 않는 책값에도 가격파괴의 바람은 여지없이 몰아쳤다. 숨통죄는 WTO지적재산권협정(이하트립스협정), 뉴미디어의 가열찬 도전, 여기저기서 문을 내리는 출판사가 속출하고, 이러다가 큰일난다는 출판사들의 아우성이 어느때보다 처절하다. 우리출판의 현실에 가슴아파하는 젊은 출판인 4인이 모여 오늘의 '문제상황'을 점검하고 함께 고민하며 대안을 생각해 봤다.

  • 4대강 살리기 사업이 많은 논란끝에 지난해 6월 마스터플랜을 세우고 4대강 곳곳에서 이미 공사가 시작되고 있는 상황에서 최근 4대강 살리기 사업의 필요성과 생태 생명 환경의 문제를 둘러싼 논쟁이 다시 가열되고 있다. 충분한 소통이 부족했다는 점을 인식하면서 이제라도 지면으로나마 4대강 살리기가 왜 필요하고 어떤 내용들이 잘못 알려지고 있는지 설명 드리고자 한다.
