  • 활성탄은 마이크로파의 흡수율이 우수하지만 활성탄 입자 주위 전계의 집중으로부터 방전이 일어나 국소가열 및 분해의 가능성이 있어, 마이크로파 출력이 높아져도 방전이 발생하지 않은 자성흡착제의 개발이 절실히 요구된다.

  • 경수(천연염)가 가열되면 어느 곳이든지 스케일이 생성됨을 볼 수 있다. 가정에서의 난방시설이나 산업현장에서의 스케일 축적문제는 그 피해정도를 고려해 볼때 매우 중요하다. 각종 열기기나 공장기계 등 스케일이 쌓이면 기계 작동상의 효율 저하는 물론 수리비용의 증가와 필요 이상의 에너지 소모 등 과다한 경비가 부담된다. 이와 관련 전기분해 원리를 이용하여 스케일을 방지할 수 있는 SESI를 소개한다.

  • 지구상에 존재하는 모든 생물에 의해 배출되는 이산화탄소는 온실가스로써 산업혁명 이후 급격한 농도 증가로 인해 지구 온난화 등의 다양한 환경문제를 초래하고 있다. 지구 온난화의 가시화로 인한 각종 기후 협약 및 탄소배출권 등에 규제로 온실가스 감축의무부과가 확실해져 탈 석유기반 사회로 전환을 위한 이산화탄소를 처리하는 다양한 연구가 각국에서 활발히 진행 중이다. 본 연구에서 마이크로웨이브 플라즈마 토치를 이산화탄소 분해에 이용하게 되었고 그 목적은 이산화탄소가스를 마이크로웨이브로 가열하여 순수한 이산화탄소 플라즈마 토치를 발생함으로서 지구 온난화의 주범인 이산화탄소를 생산적으로 이용하기 위한 것으로 전자파를 발진하는 마그네트론으로는 3kW, 2.45GHz의 주파수를 사용한다. 마이크로웨이브 플라즈마 토치를 이용한 이산화탄소의 분해 시 생성되는 물질을 확인하기 위하여 이산화탄소의 열역학적 평형을 계산하였으며 또한 이산화탄소의 분해 반응의 준 평형상태에서의 속도상수를 이용하여 각 분해반응생성물들의 밀도비율을 계산하였고, 이를 일반화시켜 도시하였다. 위 과정을 통해 고온의 이산화탄소 토치는 탄화수소 연료를 1기압에서 개질할 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 예를 들어 메탄개질은 $CO_2+CH_4{\rightarrow}2CO+2H_2$의 반응식이 된다. 이때 엔탈피와 엔트로피 변화는 각 각 ${\Delta}H=247kJ/mole$${\Delta}S=257J/mole/deg.$이며 이 반응에 대한 gibbs 자유에너지는 $G={\Delta}H-T{\Delta}S$로서 개질 자발반응이 일어나는 온도는 $T={\Delta}H/{\Delta}S=961K$가 된다. 그리고 탄화수소 개질에 참여하는 산소와 CO 라디칼의 밀도가 대단히 높다. 따라서 메탄개질은 이산화탄소 토치를 통하여 1기압에서 쉽게 이루어진다.

Hydrolysis of 7S and 11S Soy Proteins by Commercial Proteases (단백분해효소(蛋白分解酵素)에 의한 대두(大豆) 7S 및 11S 단백질(蛋白質)의 가수분해(加水分解))

  • Selected kinetic parameters and degree of hydrolysis(DH) were measured using commercial proteases(trypsin, alcalase and pronase) to study the affinity of these enzymes to 7S and 11S soy proteins. Electrophoretic patterns of the hydrolysates were also investigated. In general, the order of affinity between the proteins and the proteases was 11S(protein-rich fraction)and 7S PRF for unheated proteins, and 7S PRF and 11S PRF for preheated proteins. Substrate inhibition was present at a substrate concentration of 1.5% or higher when preheated protein was used as the substrate. The maximum DH values of alcalase were obtained from 7S PRF(60%) and 11S PRF(80%) at 1 hr hydrolysis, respectively. Trypsin hydrolyses did not affect 11S soy protein but the acidic subunits in contrast to alcalase and pronase hydrolyses which changed almost all subunits. Alcalase hydrolysis induced distinct changes on 2S soy protein.

  • The efficiency of microwave-assisted acid hydrolysis of seaweeds for the production of ethanol was investigated and its effect on hydrolysis into reducing sugar and fermentation into ethanol evaluated as compared with those by conventional heating. A brown seaweed, Laminaria japonica (10-100g/L) was hydrolysed under dilute acidic condition (0.5N $H_2SO_4$, $100^{\circ}C$) with two sorts of heating: microwave irradiation for ${\leq}10min$ and conventional heating for 10-60min. Microwave-assisted hydrolysis was shown to be more efficient. A similar range of reducing sugar and ethanol yields as with the conventional autoclave heating procedure(${\geq}30min$) was observed, but it was obvious that production of ethanol from microwave-assisted hydrolysis had a 3 times faster reaction rate leading to very short production times, lower energy consumption/loss than from the conventional heating mode, and higher biomass loading without significant reducing ethanol yield, thus microwave-assisted acid hydrolysis is a potential alternative method for more effective hydrolysis of Laminaria japonica.

Study on Fishy Off-flavor in Porcine Liver by GC-O (GC-olfactometry를 이용한 돼지간의 비린내불쾌취 성분 연구)

  • Volatile compounds of porcine liver were collected by simultaneous steam distillation and extraction and steam distillation under reduced pressure. Volatiles were analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and GC-mass spectrometry. Key aroma compounds of off-flavor in porcine liver were characterized using GC-olfactometry technique. Concentrates of cooked porcine liver had odor of a typical liver, fishy, and metallic off-flavor. Aroma concentrates showed over 90 peaks, of which 69 compounds were positively and/or tentatively identified. 1-Octen-3-one, 1-hexanol, (E)-2-nonenal, (Z)-4-decenal, (E,E)-2,4-heptadienal and (E,E)-2,4-decadienal were newly identified in this study. These compounds seem to be produced from unsaturated fatty acids of porcine liver by oxidation. 1-Octen-3-one (metallic), 1-hexanol (metallic) and (E,E)-2,4-heptadienal(fishy) have been implicated in fishy and metallic off-flavor in cooked porcine liver.

Effects of Acid Hydrolysis on Isoflavone of Defatted Soybean Flour (산가수분해시 산의 농도가 탈지대두박의 isoflavone에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of acid hydrolysis on isoflavone contents of defatted soybean flour (DSF) was investigated in this study. Isoflavone analyzed were daidzein, genistein, glycitein, daidzein, genistein and glycitein with using HPLC. The DSF suspension was heated at $95^{\circ}C$ for 4 hour with addition of HCl (0.25-3.00 N) and analyzed isoflavone. The results showed that the total isoflavone was increased as the HCl concentration increased up to 1.0 N HCl during heating, indicating conversion of glucoside isomers of isoflavone to its aglycons. However, higher concentration than 1.0 N HCl caused a relatively fast decrease in isoflavone after 4 hour of heating. These results were probably caused by degradation of isoflavone by high concentration of acid during heating. The glucosides of isoflavone were steadily decreased while its aglycons were rather increased during $1.0{\sim}2.0$ hour of heating.

  • The controlled Ti(CO2H5)4 hydrolysis reactions for the synthesis of Spherical Monodispersed Titania powders are described. Increasing the concentration of TEOT and the molar ratio of water to TEOT in alcohol solution decrease the reaction time and the particle size. The reaction time is delalyed by increasing the chain length and the number of carbon branches of alcohol as a solvent. The prepared powders with an average diameter of 0.8μ and the spherical monodispersed transfer to Rutile phase at 550℃.

Kinetics on the Thermal Decomposition of Cellulose (셀룰로오스의 열분해 반응속도론)

  • Four of non- isothermal methods evaluating kinetics have been studied by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TG) and applied for kinetics of the thermal decomposition of cellulose. It is concluded that the heating evolution methods with DSC and approximative methods with TC can lead to satisfactory kinetic analysis. Results calculating the reacting order and the activation energy of cellulose decomposition were 1/2 order and 42kcaB/mol, respectively.
