  • The demand for lightweight materials and high-strength steel has rapidly increased to help reduce the weight of a vehicle body; it improves the fuel efficiency of automobiles and provides passenger safety. Additionally, as the material becomes thinner, the demand for its resistance against corrosion becomes higher. Hence, the application of the surface-treated steel sheet has surged rapidly. In this study, a weld bonding experiment using a delta spot welding machine is performed on a thin sheet of a different material (Al6061-T6/GA440). The thickness of the material was kept at 1 mm to reduce the weight of the automobile body parts. Additionally, the purpose of this study is to control the heat input by applying the welding conditions of a multi-stage pressure pattern to improve corrosion resistance shear strength. The analysis of nugget diameter measurement, shear tensile test, and salt spray test was performed to achieve the aim.

Viscoelastic Finite Element Analysis of Filling Process on the Moth-Eye Pattern (모스아이 패턴의 충전공정에 대한 점탄성 유한요소해석)

  • Nanoimprint lithography (NIL) fabrication process is regarded as the main alternative to existing expensive photo-lithography in areas such as micro- and nano-electronics including optical components and sensors, as well as the solar cell and display device industries. Functional patterns, including anti-reflective moth-eye pattern, photonic crystal pattern, fabricated by NIL can improve the overall efficiency of such devices. To successfully imprint a nano-sized pattern, the process conditions such as temperature, pressure, and time should be appropriately selected. In this paper, a cavity-filling process of the moth-eye pattern during the thermal-NIL within the temperature range, where the polymer resist shows the viscoelastic behaviors with consideration of stress relaxation effect of the polymer, were investigated with three-dimensional finite element analysis. The effects of initial thickness of polymer resist and imprinting pressure on cavity-filling process has been discussed. From the analysis results it was found that the cavity filling can be completed within 100 s, under the pressure of more than 4 MPa.

Analysis for Realization of Vertical Wall in Holes by Applying Alternate High Pressure in the Punchless Piercing Process (무 펀치 피어싱 공정에서 교번식 고압 적용을 통한 구멍 내 직벽 구현 해석)

  • In this work, the punchless piercing process with application of alternate high pressure has been proposed as a method to obtain pierced holes having nearly vertical wall over thin metal plates. The numerical simulation considering Lemaitre damage model has been accomplished for the proposed method. The simulated results have been compared with those by conventional one-way punch less piercing process. It has been revealed that the fractured section made by pressure alternation method shows nearly steep wall where the deviation angle from the vertical line is as small as $3.6^{\circ}$.

Removal Characteristics of Organic Matters in Pretreatment and Reverse Osmosis Membrane Processes for Seawater Desalination (해수담수화 전처리 및 역삼투막여과 공정의 유기물 제거특성)

  • This study investigated removal characteristics of organic matters in pretreatment and reverse osmosis (RO) membrane processes for seawater desalination. Also, the influence of the changes in characteristics of organic matters on the membrane fouling was assessed. The pretreatment processes included dual media filtration (DMF), pressurized membrane filtration (MF), and submerged membrane filtration (SMF). Turbidity, UV absorption at 254 nm, dissolved organic carbon, size exclusion chromatography (SEC), fluorescence excitation emission matrix (FEEM), and transparent exopolymer particles (TEP) in raw and processed waters were analyzed. Ions and minerals were not removed by any pretreatment process tested, but were removed over 99% through the RO membrane process. Hydrophobic organics, which can play major role in organic membrane fouling, were relatively readily removed compared with hydrophilic ones. Membrane based pretreatment such as MF and SMF exhibited better removals of organics than conventional DMF. As the levels of organics in pretreated water decreased, the silt density index (SDI) decreased. MF treated water exhibited the lowest SDI value; this is possibly due to the lowest TEP ($0.1-0.4{\mu}m$) concentrations.

Preparation and Characterization of TiO$_2$ Ultrafiltration Membranes for Reclamation of Waste Lubrication Oil (폐윤활유 재생용 TiO$_2$ 한외여과막의 제조 및 특성평가)

  • 폐윤활유 재생용 TiO2 한외여과막은 정밀영과용 지르코니아 복합막(즉, 복층담채) 및 알루미나 단층 담체(기공크기 0.1$mu extrm{m}$)상에 졸-겔 코팅법에 의하여 TiO2 분리막 층을 코팅하여 제조 하였다. TiO2 졸의 특성 분석을 통하여 봉입침지(sealed dip-coating) 및 가압 코팅(pressurized coating)법으로 결함이 없는 TiO2 복합막을 제조할 수 있는 코팅조건을 최적화 하였다. 합성 TiO2 한외여과막의 분리막층 두께는 1$\mu\textrm{m}$이하의 범위에서 조절되었으며,기공값을 보여주었으며 75$0^{\circ}C$까지 열처리하여도 80%정도의 용질배제율(기공크기 22.5nm)을 유지하는 점으로 봐서 고온 공정을 요하는 폐윤활유 재생막으로서 충분한 열적 안정성을 갖고 있었다.

  • 유동층 열교환기 (Fluidized Bed Heat Exchanger; FBHE) 는 온도 균일성이라는 유동층의 특징을 이용하여 적당한 전열면적을 갖는 열교환관을 층 내 설치하여 일정한 양의 열을 전열시키는 것으로, 최근 순환유동층 연소로의 scale-up 을 통한 열용량 증대와 함께 고온의 재순환물질로부터 열을 회수, 연소로의 온도제어 및 열회수율의 극대화를 얻고자 재순환부에 연결하여 사용하고 있다. 또한, 가압순환유동층의 개발과 더불어 유효열전달 면적의 증대를 통한 상대적인 연소로 소형화를 위해 채택되고 있다. 특히, 유동층 열교환기는 전체 공정에서 20-60% 의 열을 회수할 수 있어, 열전달에 있어 매우 중요한 역할을 차지한다.(중략)

  • This paper presents an investigation into the pinhead forming process with the objective of finding the optimal forming conditions. In order to this, the orbital forming analysis of a heading MIG was carried out using the explicit finite element method. Relationships between temperature by forming of load and stresses, rake angle by forming final shape and stress distribution were investigated through analysises in order to find an efficient solution. As a result, the higher temperature and orbital rake angle were the better forming conditions.

  • The deterioration of dimensional accuracy, caused by springback, is one of problems to always occur in sheet metal forming processes. As the demand for lighter and stronger metals increases, the development of improved forming processes settling the springback problem becomes more important. In this work, springback phenomena are investigated which occur in the press forming process with the anisotropic sheet metal and axisymmetric tools. The improvement possibility of dimensional accuracies, mainly, flatness, will be examined by applying blank holding forces as a method of springback control.

UF를 이용한 쥬스의 청징

  • 쥬스제조시 청징공정에 있어서 UF의 응용은 현재까지 그리 주목받아 오지 못했다. 그러나 UF는 기존의 여과방법보다 더 간단하고 저렴한 기술이며 더 좋은 품질의 제품을 생산할 수 있다. 일반적인 사과쥬스 제조에 있어서 기존의 청징방법은 보통 2단계를 필요로 하는데 먼저 Pectinase와 같은 효소처리된 원료쥬스를 Decanter라는 회전진콩 여과기로 여과한 다음 가압여과기로 여과를 하게 된다. 이 두단계에 있어서 많은 양의 규조토가 필요한데 UF를 사용하여 청징여과를 하게 되면 규조토의 사용을 안하므로 생산비 절감 뿐만아니라 폐기물처리 문제까지도 해결해 준다. 도한 제품의 질, 특히 덫징도가 증가하며 수율도 높일 수 있고 노동비를 절감할 수 있으며, 효소는 막을 통과하지 않기 때문에 농축액에 축적되어 효소의 재사용에 따른 효소사용량 절감을 가져올 수 있다.

Process -dynamic Model for Stock-fluid in a Pressurized Paper Machine Headbox (초지기 가압-헤드박스 내 지료유체의 공정-동특성모델)

  • Mathematical modeling provided a systematic analysis for the dynamic behavior of stock fluid in a paper machine pressurized headbox. Dynamic responses of liquid level, sheet basis weight and hydraulic pressure were predicted from the simulation model which represents the system. A unit step and asinusoidal wave load were considered as the input forcing functions in the headbox. Results are summarized as follows : 1. The dependence of sheet basis weight on liquid level in the pressurized-headbox was non -linear. 2. Liquid level in the head-box showed first-order lag with a unit step forcing to fluid input rate ; 3 . The amplitude of wave response of liquid level was inversely proportional to the time content for the sinusoidal input changes ; 4.Sheet basis weight showed second-order oscillating underamped responses for the step input load of flow rate ; 5. The damping factor in the second-order system was a function of air-pressure in the headbox ; and, 6. Dead-time existed in the measuring process for the headbox slice pressure.
