Numerical Simulation on a Reacting Flow Field with Various Injection conditions (소형가스터빈용 인젝터의 분무 특성에 따른 반응 유동장 전산 해석)

  • This work shows the result of numerical simulation on a reacting flow by varying atomization properties which can be obtained from a injector for a small and low power aircraft gas turbine engine. Because the atomization properties mainly affect on the performance of the engine, a lot of efficiency tests are needed when a new injector is developed. Nowadays researches has been actively performed using computational analysis. Using commercial package CFD-ACE+, basic studies on the reacting flow field have been conducted. Those results show that the reaction rate is increased when higher pressure and wider angle spray condition are used. More smaller parcels can also enhance the fuel-air reaction.

Numerical Study on the Effect of Diesel Injection Parameters on Combustion and Emission Characteristics in RCCI Engine (RCCI 엔진의 디젤 분사 파라미터에 따른 연소 및 배출가스 특성에 대한 수치적 연구)

  • Low-temperature combustion (LTC) strategies, such as HCCI (Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition), PCCI (Premixed Charge Compression Ignition), and RCCI (Reactivity Controlled Compression Ignition), have been developed to effectively reduce NOx and PM while increasing the thermal efficiency of diesel engines. Through numerical analysis, this study examined the effects of the injection timing and two-stage injection ratio of diesel fuel, a highly reactive fuel, on the performance and exhaust gas of RCCI engines using gasoline as the low reactive fuel and diesel as the highly reactive fuel. In the case of two-stage injection, combustion slows down if the first injection timing is too advanced. The combustion temperature decreases, resulting in lower combustion performance and an increase in HC and CO. The injection timing of approximately -60°ATDC is considered the optimal injection timing considering the combustion performance, exhaust gas, and maximum pressure rise rate. When the second injection timing was changed during the two-stage injection, considering the combustion performance, exhaust gas, and the maximum pressure increase rate, it was judged to be optimal around -30°ATDC. In the case of two-stage injection, the optimal result was obtained when the first injection amount was set to approximately 60%. Finally, a two-stage injection rather than a single injection was considered more effective on the combustion performance and exhaust gas.

  • Freon gas has been replaced with LPG in the cosmetic industry because of its bad effects on environment. In this paper, skincare product with a cooling effect was developed using LPG as propellant. A cooling effect is obtained by the ice which is formed through spraying. Ice formation is affected by the composition of LPG and most of all, the high content of propane gas in the LPG results in the irregular surface of ice formed because of its high vapor pressure. Also the ratio of LPG to skincare solution affects the formation of ice.

  • As the emission limits for NOx in power generation facilities were strengthened, HRSGs installed in the 1990s became necessary to install additional DeNOx system. However, since there is no space in the HRSG for installing the entire the catalyst and ammonia injection grid, as an alternative, the catalyst was installed inside of the HRSG and the ammonia injection device was installed in the exhaust duct of the gas turbine. Experiments were conducted in horizontal HRSG of Incheon combined cycle power plant. Experimental results show that the ammonia injection method in the gas turbine exhaust duct is 1.2 times higher than the HRSG internal ammonia injection method. However when operating a HRSG for 30 years as its life span, ammonia injection method in the gas turbine exhaust duct is more economical than the cost of new HRSG construction.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of blocking the oxygen in the air during the polymerization of sealant. All curing were performed with various light curing units under the application of oxygen gel barrier, stream of nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas for inhibition of oxygen diffusion into sealant surface. The results of present study can be summarized as follows : 1. The amount of eluted TEGDMA form the specimens cured with all the three different light units in the stream of $N_2$ and $CO_2$ gas and application of Oxygen gel barrier($DeOx^{(R)}$) were significantly lower than in the room-air atmosphere (Control) (p<0.05). 2. In the $DeOx^{(R)}$ application, the amount of eluted TEGDMA the specimen cured with PAC light for 10seconds was less than that cured in the stream of $N_2$ and $CO_2$ atmospheric conditions (p<0.05) 3. In the LED using 10 or 20sec irradiation times under the stream of $N_2$ and $CO_2$, the eluted TEGDMA showed to be no statistically significant difference (p>0.05). 4. The microhardness from the specimens cured with all the three different light units under each treated conditions were significantly higher than in the room-air atmosphere (p<0.05). 5. The surface treatment by $DeOx^{(R)}$, $N_2$ and $CO_2$ reduces the thickness of oxygen inhibited layer by sp proximately 49% of the untreated control value.

  • 직접분사식 디젤기관의 성능과 배기가스 문제에 여향을 주는 실린더 내에서의 연소형태는 크게 연료분사계와 흡입공기 유동계 두 가지에 의해 결정된다. 즉 분사율, 부사시기, 분무형태와 같은 분사계의 특성과 공기선회, 스퀴시(squish), 난류와 같은 공기 유동 특성에 의하여 연소형태가 결 정된다. 이러한 복잡한 연소형테를 기관 특성에 맞게 조정한다는 것은 대단히 어려운 문제인데 이것은 연료화 공기의 혼합이 연소실형상과 흡기계의 형상에 큰 영향을 받으며 연료가 액체 상 태로 연소실내로 들어와 분무과정을 통하여 증발이 되어야만 연소가 가능하기 때문이다. 특히 흡입공기 유동계에 있어서 현재의 직접 분사식 대젤기관의 흡입구 형상은 흡입공기의 운동에너 지에 모멘트를 가하여 연소실내에서 공기의 선희(swirl)를 발생시켜 줌으로써 연료와 공기의 혼 합기를 형성시키는 Helical type이 많이 이용되고 있다. 그러나 기관 성능과 배기가스 특히 NOx는 상반관계를 이루기 때문에 연소실내로 들어오는 흡입공기의 선희강도(swirl ratio)를 너무 강하게만 한다고 하여 좋은 결과를 얻을 수는 없다. 따라서 설계하고자 하는 각 기관에 있어서 요구되는 성능과 배기가스 문제를 만족하는 흡입공기의 선희강도가 얻어질 수 있도록 흡입구 형상을 설계한다는 것은 많은 연구와 경험이 요구되고 있다. 본 자료에서는 직접분사식 디젤기 관에 있어서 흡입공기의 최적 선희강도에 대한 설정방법과 흡입구 형상 설계를 위한 설계 이론 및 정상류 Rig test상에서의 흡입공기 선희강도의 평가방법을 소개하고자 한다.

  • This study tries to analyze the injection amount of injector according to the external environment temperature of CNG vehicle. Especially, We investigated the effect of low temperature environment on gas injector performance by measuring the variation of injection amount under the same conditions as in coldstart condition. This experimental compared two products with different spring characteristics. The experimental device consist of a fuel supply unit, a flowrate measurement unit, a temperature chamber, and an injector control unit (ECU). According to the test result, the initial injection amount of the injector is increased in the low temperature environment and the needle opening time is delayed according to the change of the spring length.

  • 최근 석탄 가스화 기술은 화석연료인 석탄을 기존의 공해물질 발생을 90%이상 줄이면서 고효율로 활용할 수 있는 방법으로 각광받고 있다. 본 연구는 습식 석탄 가스화기에서 가스화의 핵심적인 요소인 버너의 분무 관계 분야에 대한 분무 특성 및 무화성능을 높일 수 있는 분무기의 구조 및 운전 조건 등을 제시 할 목적으로 분무 시 내부를 관찰 할 수 있는 아크릴을 이용하여 내부 혼합식 버너를 제작하였다. 미립화 특성을 파악하기 위하여 $O_2$/Fuel Ratio 및 버너의 내부 혼합 방식, 분사각도, 각 분사 높이에 따른 미립화 특성을 관찰하였으며, 입도 분석은 심파텍사의 입도 분석기를 이용하여 측정하였다. 내부 혼합식 버너의 입도는 분사 각도와 $O_2$/Fuel Ratio에 따라서 변화하는 경향을 나타냈으며, 공급되어지는 Fuel은 석탄 슬러리와 물을 이용하여 각각의 입도를 측정하였다. slurry의 공급량이 고정된 상태에서 산소 공급량이 증가함에 따라 미립화도는 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 슬러리 공급량과 산소 공급량이 동일한 경우 버너의 분사 각도에 따라 미립화도가 다르게 나타나는 특성을 관찰하였다.

  • Natural gas fuel has known to be very promising in terms of abundancy and economic value. Therefore it is widely treated as research topics in a variety field of production, storage and utilization. Natural gas has become one of the major sources for the power generation by using internal combustion engines(ICE). Development of natural gas fuel injection device should be preceded to realize a reliable natural gas fuel supply system for a MW class power generation reciprocating ICE. In this research, an injection valve which consists of solenoid and body part with a moving plate was designed and its dynamic performance was experimented in the engine-like environment. Displacement length and diameter of an armature and diameter of a solenoid coil were tested at former study. In this research the effect of materials of solenoid core, size of main housing inlet and supply gas pressure are examined.

Absorption Characteristics of Sulfur Dioxide in Jet Bubbling Reactor (가스분사반응기에서의 SO2 흡수 특성)

  • The optimum design conditions of gas sparger pipe and the effects of operating variables on $SO_2$ removal efficiency have been examined in Jet Bubbling Reactor. Geometry of gas sparser pipe of Jet Bubbling Reactor is a very important factor to obtain a effective gas-liquid contact. Test results revealed that Reynolds numbers at sparger and slot have to be kept greater than 12,000 identically at a given gas velocity. $SO_2$ removal efficiency was a function of ${\Delta}P$, pH, inlet $SO_2$ concentration and particle size of limestone and was more sensitive to the change of ${\Delta}P$ than to the changes of others. The ${\Delta}P$ of at least 230mmAq must be maintained to acheive the above 90% $SO_2$ removal at pH of 4.0 which is considered as adequate operating pH. Higher $SO_2$ removal efficiency was obtained even at lower pH ranges, which resulted from the complete oxidation of the absorbed $SO_2$ to sulfates by adding air and consequently from the reduction of $SO_2$ equillibrium partial pressure in the gas-liquid interface The 99.5% of the limestone utilization was attained in pH range from 3.0 to 5.0 with regardless to the particle size of limestone employed.
