  • Image-based virtual try-on (VTON) is becoming popular for online apparel shopping, mainly because of not requiring 3D information for try-on clothes and target humans. However, existing 2D algorithms, even when utilizing advanced non-rigid deformation algorithms, cannot handle large spatial transformations for complex target human poses. In this study, we propose a 3D clothing reconstruction method using a 3D human body model. The resulting 3D models of try-on clothes can be more easily deformed when applied to rest posed standard human models. Then, the poses and shapes of 3D clothing models can be transferred to the target human models estimated from 2D images. Finally, the deformed clothing models can be rendered and blended with target human representations. Experimental results with the VITON dataset used in the previous works show that the shapes of reconstructed clothing are significantly more natural, compared to the 2D image-based deformation results when human poses and shapes are estimated accurately.

  • *IT technology has been rapidly introduced to the clothing and fashion industry, and especially fashion shows have been changed very fast to keep up with the current digital era. In this research, the author designed virtual clothes, and investigated whether it is possible to make them similar to actual clothes and then performed a digital fashion show with these virtual clothes. This research discussed, based on case development and studies, whether a digital fashion show can express the designer's idea more creatively than the existing fashion shows and what needs to be improved for the effectiveness of digital fashion shows. As a result, the virtual clothes have been recognized to be very similar to actual clothes and facilitate creative expressions that are hard to be presented in actual fashion shows. The adaptation of 3D virtual clothes to real fashion industry in the future can make new contents through the innovation of distribution and industry.

  • In this paper, we developed a virtual cloth try-on (VTON) technology that segement the cloth image worn on the mannequin and applies it to the user 's photograph. The two-dimensional image-based virtual wear study which does not require three-dimensional information of cloth and model is of practical value, but the research result shows that there are limitations of of the current technology for the problem of occlusion or distortion. In this study, we proposed an algorithm to apply the results obtained from the DNN- based segmentation and posture estimation to the user 's photograph, assuming that the mannequin cloth reduces the difficulties in this part. In order to improve the performance compared with the existing one, we used the validity check of the pre-attitude information, the improvement of the deformation using the outline, and the improvement of the divided area. As a result, a significantly improved result image of more than 50% was obtained.

  • According to development of Internet and computer graphics technology, Digital fashion technology makes virtual fitting service capable by reappearing of clothes in 3D. In this paper, We suggest that combined solution which you could use virtual fitting service with various device. For example, imaginary mirror(such as digital information display), pc, mobile in different situations such as store, internet shopping market, commercial. Users can experience imaginary mirror that is located in store or 3D virtual fitting service for digital fashion in internet shopping market, mobile application. In addition, We proposed the solution that user can send experienced virtual fitting service results to other person by image file form of MMS.

  • Due to COVID-19, which has thrown the whole world into chaos, it has become an era where many technologies and contents are made non-face-to-face. At the same time, the popularity of the metaverse service is also increasing day by day, and the virtual costume (avatar) industry, one of the sub-industries, is also growing. In this study, we designed and developed a system for creating virtual costumes to be uploaded to ZEPETO, a mobile metaverse service. Unlike the existing service that requires a program that operates in a PC environment, it can be produced only by shooting and simple operation through a mobile device. With the advantage of being able to process all tasks of this system in a mobile environment, small businesses and individual operators who are not familiar with external programs will be able to more easily access the 3D virtual clothing industry.

  • In this paper, we propose the new method of creating 3D virtual-human reflecting the pattern of clothes worn by the person in the high-resolution whole body front image and the body shape data about the person. To get the pattern of clothes, we proceed Instance Segmentation and clothes parsing using Cascade Mask R-CNN. After, we use Pix2Pix to blur the boundaries and estimate the background color and can get UV-Map of 3D clothes mesh proceeding UV-Map base warping. Also, we get the body shape data using SMPL-X and deform the original clothes and body mesh. With UV-Map of clothes and deformed clothes and body mesh, user finally can see the animation of 3D virtual-human reflecting user's appearance by rendering with the state-of-the game engine, i.e. Unreal Engine.

  • This study is to explore the usability of a pattern making software 'Looks tailor X' developed recently by the Digital Fashion in line with the cloth simulation software 'DressingSim'. When the software engineers develop software for clothes and clothing simulations, most often they lose touch of real-world craftsmanship of pattern making. As such, the software evaluation of the functionality and the usability is a crucial step in the field of virtual clothing. We carried out a detailed evaluation of the software via the process of making some basic types of pattern including tight skirts, pants, jackets, and one-piece dress. In this paper, we documented a step-by-step scenarios of making clothes using the Looks tailor X, and listed both the advantages and limitations of the software from the perspective of an enduser, i.e., a professional fashion designer. We also briefed suggestions on the refinement of the future software in the field.

  • This study seeks to propose the virtual costume's pipeline production in digital fashion show which is based on the unique characteristic combining computer graphic technology and traditional fashion design. This study analyzed the fabric materials based on Korean traditional costume to create a virtual Hanbok for the digital fashion show, and conducted the group of professional's satisfaction statistics through the experiment to verify the realistic usability. The contents of primary process of producing virtual Korean costume is analyzed by summarizing the thickness, weight, and color as the three essential fabric properties required for virtual Hanbok. In addition, virtual costumes are compared with real Hanbok based on the usability survey to evaluate the positive research result by forty graphic experts. The purpose of this study is to present the guideline of essential material analysis of the fabrication to digital fashion show in the virtual clothing production.
