A Study on the Introduction of Effective Route Exchange System in the VTS Area (해상교통관제해역 내 효과적 경로교환 체계 도입에 관한 연구)

  • The system that covers gathering, integrating, exchanging, presenting and analyzing of information within ships and shores for the safety and security in Marine Environment is known as e-Navigation Policy. Northern Europe has been conducting research and development. It came up into a concept that deals with ship's route information between vessels as well as vessels to shores which is better known as route exchange system. The research showed substantial advantages on navigational safety by exchanging the route information between vessels in vicinity and vessels to shores. Therefore, upon the adaptation of route exchange System as a major function in integrated navigational system, the existing procedures in VTS could be changed for betterment. In this study, it was verified the effectiveness of route exchange system by the adaptation of a recent collision accident occurred in Korean coast and suggested that route exchange system which would be carried out by the discretion of VTS center in VTS area. Finally, it proposed the new functions for outstanding services and procedures of integrating traffic organization services on coastal VTS for an effective route exchange system in Korean coastal area.

Service Design for Using the Drones in the Early Stages Fires of Dense Residential Areas (주택가 밀집지역 화재발생 초기 드론 활용 서비스디자인 연구)

  • Recently, through the services that use drones at fire sites to deliver on-site and road conditions into the situation room and life-saving activities or the deliveries of first aid outfits at the accident scenes that are inaccessible to humans, there are more and more cases of dealing with emergency situations. Therefore, by studying the service design using drones in the initial stage of response to fires in dense residential areas, this study was intended to reify the service design area of the response stage, including the dispatch of fire sites and the fire suppression. To do this, through literature researches, research directions were explored by examining the concept and process review of service design, and by analyzing the application cases using service design. In order examine the validity of this study, a one-on-one interview was conducted to identify the use and problems of drones among incumbent firefighters, and identified the applicability of drones to fire sites by targeting drone experts. Field research was conducted to identify the location and distance of road conditions, site conditions, and 119 safety centers, by making Yongsan-gu, the most vulnerable area to fire in Seoul, as a research sample. And, among the methodologies of service design, Persona and Customer Journey Map were prepared and Insight was derived, by using virtual scenarios for the experience values and behavior analyses of the interested parties. Through these processes, this researcher intended to present the fire-response service design and help establish the direction of service design in the initial stages of fire in Korea.

  • The purpose of this study is to pay attention to the expression of good and evil which has Been significantly developed out of the existing dichotomous good and evil in animation films and to identify for them. Even though 3D animation films provides us with a sense of realistic existence due to surprising technical powers, the stories contained in such films tend to remain in the limit of family films. However, recently, some films have been presented beyond such limit with a scenario that makes people introspect their inner side. Among them, this study considered the expression of good and evil of , which extended the meaning of didactic morality into the dimension of 'Philosophy of Dionysian yes', as significant for research purpose. More specifically, this study looked at and discussed this film in more details in the aspect of focusing on the value of good and evil for eliminating the boundary of the existing perspective and pursuing positive overcoming. The frame of the concept for discussion used the philosophical statements of Kant and Hegel as well as Nietzsche who explained the meaning of good and evil with Dionysian view. As to the method of research, this study attempted to understand the theoretically related concepts and discuss the meaning, along with the presentation of examples, by inputting such meaning into the expression of good and evil presented in the film. This study has the implication in identifying that an animation film, as a virtual world, plays a role of opening a new prospect for conversion of thought in our real world and expecting a future progress.

Contaminated Surfaces in an Urban Environment (도시환경에서 방사능오염 표면의 중요도 분석)

  • EMRAS-2 (Environmental Modelling for RAdiation Safety, Phase 2) is an international comparison program, which is organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in order to harmonize the modelling of radionuclide behavior in the environment. To do so, the urban contamination working group within EMRAS-2 has designed the hypothetical scenarios for a specified urban area. In this study, the importance of contaminated surfaces composing an urban environment was analyzed in terms of dose rate using METRO-K, which has been developed to take a Korean urban environment into account. The contribution of contaminated surfaces to exposure dose rate showed distinctly a great difference as a function of specified locations and time following a hypothetical event. Moreover, it showed a distinct difference according to the existence of precipitation, and its intensity. Therefore, if an urban area is contaminated radioactively by any unexpected incidents such as an accident of nuclear power plants or an explosion of radioactive dispersion devices (RDDs), appropriate measures should be taken with consideration of the type of surface composing the contaminated environment in order to minimize not only radiation-induced health detriment but also economic and social impacts.

The Influence of On-Off Line Blended Learning in Emphasizing the Interaction Between Teacher and Students on the Perception about Learning Environment and Science-Related Attitude (교사와 학생의 상호작용이 강조된 온-오프라인 혼합형 학습이 학습 환경에 대한 인식과 과학 관련 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • General education is changed by accepting the change in education environment to digital generation, emphasis about student-centered education, and change of teacher's role. E-learning has taken center stage as an effective learning environment but the problems are drawn for the absence of interaction that is important in learning. In this study, on the basis of questionnaire results about learning using website, we operated blended-learning where students come and go in cyberspace and physical space to set up the lesson environment for emphasizing interaction. We selected a control group (N=40) and an experimental group (N=40) from second grade students in a middle school for this research. General instructor-led lessons were implemented in the control group and blended-learning lessons to emphasize interaction between teacher and students were implemented in the experimental group. The experiments were applied to eight class-hours in 'characteristics of matter' unit. We implemented Test of Science Related Attitude (TOSRA) to the students before and after the lessons and administered questionnaire for checking attitude changes and perception in students. The results of the test show that the experimental group students were more encouraged and became more confident and curious about scientific learning than the control group students. The analysis of the interview and results of TOSRA show that blended-learning provided guidance and feedback by the teacher to the experimental group students more than the control group students. Blended-learning is suggested as a learning-method that is helpful in improving scientific attitude in students because it enables them to express their experiences without limit of time-space and promote interaction between teacher and students.

A Design on Information Security Core Knowledge for Security Experts by Occupational Classification Framework (보안전문인력 양성을 위한 직업분류체계별 정보보호 핵심지식 설계)

  • Information Security Incidents that have recently happen rapidly spread and the scale of that incidents' damage is large. In addition, as it proceeds to the era of converged industry in the future environment and the virtual cyber world expands to the physical world, new types of security threats have occurred. Now, it is time to supply security professionals who have a multi-dimensional security capabilities that can manage the strategies of technological security and physical security from the management point of view, rather than the ones who primarily focus on the traditional technologic-centered strategies to solve new types of security threats. In conclusion, in this paper we try to produce the curriculum of information security featured in the occupational classification system and analyze the subjects that are additionally required for those who move to other occupations to cultivate security professionals who suited to the converged-industrial environment. It is expected that multi-dimensional security professionals who suited to the converged-industrial environment will be cultivated by harmoniously integrating information security subjects from technological and business/managerial perspectives, and education training courses will be developed that effectively provide core knowledges per occupational classification when people moves to other occupations in the areas of information security.

Types of Concept Figuration in Landscape Design based on Memory (기억에 기반한 조경설계의 개념 형상화 유형)

  • The designers pursue the thoughtful and wide thinking through the accumulation of knowledge and cultivation of insights for making use of high-level design philosophy and language. The purpose of this study is to investigate characteristics of concept figuration types based on designer's 'memory' in landscape design. The results of this study are as follows. First, the design idea starts to be based on the language and image memory of the designer. The figuration types are composed of the verbal and visual view which are representative communication means. Second, the verbal concept figuration of landscape design consists of two types. The symbolic language of the title as a design theme can be a 'phrase', and it should have a hierarchial balance between the master and the sub. 'Descriptive shape of conceptual scenario' is a text that expresses the concept narratively in order that the reader virtually experiences designed landscapes. Third, visual concept figuration of landscape design is divided into three types. 'Simple visualization of a diagram' is easily embodied through a simple graphic using symbols, comments, images and key words. 'Concept sketch and shape of core idea' is useful to grasp the core of the idea such as physical element, form attribute of space and spatial relation at the initial phase of the concept. 'A collage and montage that create a new shape with a combination of images' are a collection of materials and images that provide a new perspective. These are tools to depict them in a compressed way after recording landscapes phenomenon.

  • Space design in the 21st century has been developed in connection with media more various than ever. In the age of image represented by popular culture, space design connected with media is based on post-reason thoughts constituting the post-modern society, and reflects polysemously and pluralistically changes in the society through the identification of art with life. The movie, which is an image perceived particularly sensibly and the most impractical simulated image among various illusionary media images composing the contemporary society, is growing rapidly in interrelation with various fields of art based on its peculiar nature, and its influence is getting more extensive. The movie manipulates mass society to create what does not exist and restore lost images into new realities through the reproduction of extremely realistic senses, and uses them in establishing virtual realities and creating illusionary images representing the age of simularc. The illusionary expression of the movie produces new meanings through disintegrating existing meanings and recombining them, and expresses popular culture from a position closest to our everyday life. Such an analytical attitude toward the illusionary movie reflecting our society can be a new approach to space design. The present study attempts to suggest the possibility of applying such an illusionary characteristic of the movie as a methodology of space design by utilizing the characteristic as a conceptual language of space design.

Supplementation of the Indoor Location Tracking Techniques Based-on Load-Cells Mechanism (로드셀 기반의 실내 위치추적 보완 기법)

  • Current indoor intrusion detection and location tracking methods have the weakness in seamless operations in tracking the objective because the object must possess a communicating device and the limitation of the single cell size (approximate $100cm{\times}100cm$) exits. Also, the utilization of CCTV technologies show the shortcomings in tracking when the object disappear the area where the CCTV is not installed or illumination is not enough for capturing the scene (e.g. where the context-awarded system is not installed or low illumination presents). Therefore, in this paper we present an improved in-door tracking system based on sensor networks. Such system is built on a simulated scenario and enables us to detect and extend the area of surveillance as well as actively responding the emergency situation. Through simulated studies, we have demonstrated that the proposed system is capable of supplementing the shortcomings of signal cutting, and of estimating the location of the moving object. We expect the study will improve the better analysis of the intruder behavior, the more effective prevention and flexible response to various emergency situations.

Radiological Safety Assessment for KAERI Incineration Plant on the Basis of Trial Burn Results (시험소각결과에 기준한 한국원자력연구소 소각시설의 방사학적 안전성 평가)

  • Radiological safety for the conventional operation of Demonstration-Scale Incineration Plant (DSIP) was assessed on the basis of the results of trial burns using the simulated and real radioactive wastes. Radiation dose assessments for routine releases on an annual basis as well a several severe accidental releases on a short-term basis (2h) revealed that there would be no significant environmental impact when low-level waste Is incinerated in DSIP. For semivolatile radioactive cesium species, expected emission concentrations slightly exceeded 10% of maximum permissible concentration. Removal characteristics of the bag filter for condensed-phase cesium species was investigated by the trial burns of simulated waste with inactive cesium tracer. In the off-gas before passing through bag filter, distributions of condensed cesium species in the transition size ranging between the diffusional and inertial region are less than 5%. The overall collection efficiency of the bag filter for cesium species was higher than 99.9%, showing enough decontamination capability as a primary filter for the low-temperature dry off-gas system in radwaste incineration plant.
