A gonioradiometer for total flux measurements (전광선속 측정을 위한 고니오광도계 제작)

  • We make a gonioradiometer to realize the scales of total luminous flux and total spectral flux from standards of irradiance and illuminance. Transferring of the photometric scales to a radiometric base has been completed by using a new goniometer to realize a scale of total luminous flux from the scale of illuminance. This is done by measuring the flux emanating from an optical source in different directions and integrating it over an entire imaginary surface surrounding the source. This method is suggested for the realization of the scales of total luminous flux and geometrically total spectral flux. The combined uncertainty of a total flux in the KRISS gonioradiometry is 1 % in the condition of 95% reliance.

  • 3D Object Detection using deep neural network has been developed a lot for obstacle detection in autonomous vehicles because it can recognize not only the class of target object but also the distance from the object. But in the case of 3D Object Detection models, the detection performance for distant objects is lower than that for nearby objects, which is a critical issue for autonomous vehicles. In this paper, we introduce a technique that increases the performance of 3D object detection models, particularly in recognizing distant objects, by generating virtual 3D vehicle data and adding it to the dataset used for model training. We used a spherical point tracing method that leverages the characteristics of 3D LiDAR sensor data to create virtual vehicles that closely resemble real ones, and we demonstrated the validity of the virtual data by using it to improve recognition performance for objects at all distances in model training.

  • 실제영상으로 가상환경을 구축해서 사용자가 가상환경을 돌아다님으로써 보다 큰 몰입감과 현실감을 제공하는 영상기반 가상현실 기술은 최근 들어 웹 기반 가상현실시스템을 구축하기 위해서 많이 사용된다. 이 기술은 가상환경 구축에 있어 항해를 쉽게 하기 위한 한 방법으로 넓은 시각 영역(field of view)을 얻을 수 있는 wide-angle 렌즈를 흔히 사용한다. 어안렌즈(fish-eye lens)는 전형적인 넓은 시각 영역을 가진 렌즈로서, 매우 큰 radial distortion 을 가진다. 왜곡을 없앤 영상을 얻기 위해 본 논문에서는 구면기하(spherical geometry) 및 사영기하(projective geometry)를 사용하여 어안영상을 보정하는 non-metric기법을 제안한다. 제안한 이 방법은, 기존의 방법들 보다는 쉽고 빠른 속도로 왜곡을 보정할 수 있으므로 어안영상의 왜곡을 보정하는 하드웨어를 효율적으로 구현할 수 있다. 그리고 spheroid 를 이용해 좀 더 왜곡을 정확히 보정방법과 별도의 서보 모터 없이 pan/title 를 가능케 하는 시점이동에 따른 왜곡 보정 방법을 제시한다.

  • Prognostic characteristics of hypothetical tsunamis in the East Sea are discussed based on numerical model simulations of linear long wave theory and wave ray for 28 source zones of tsunamigenic earthquake selected by the seismic gap theory. As a result, the propagation patterns of tsunamis due to hypothetical earthquake are presented and analyses also lead to selection of the geographical zones with low risk of tsunamis.

  • The new method of recording and reconstructing a synthetic object, which was called as scannedobject holography (SOH), was proposed and its feasibility was demonstrated theoretically and experimentally. The hologram was recorded by interfering the fixed reference beam with spherical waves emitting from a moving point source, whose trajectory determined the shape of the synthetic object to be recorded. The end face of an optical fiber and the output from a pulsed laser were utilized in order to implement a moving point source experimentally. tally.

Measurement and Characterization of Three Dimensional Luminous Flux (광원주위의 3차원 광선속 측정 및 평가)

  • This paper describes the construction, measurement, and characterization of an instrument for the distribution of luminous flux. This is done by measuring the flux around a light source while a detector and a source is rotating, and integrating it over an entire imaginary surface surrounding the source. We make a gonio radiometer to realize the scales of total luminous flux and geometrically integrate to get total spectral flux from standards of irradiance and illuminance. The uncertainties of a total flux in the gonioradiometry are 1.3%, and 0.4% below the standard lamps of NIST and NIM for each other.

  • We designed optical systems for a mobile phone camera using a spherical SELFOC lens and an aspherical plastic lens. Since the radial index distribution gives an additional design parameter for optical design, an aspheric lens could be replaced by a spherical lens. The imaging performances of the design were compared with conventional 2P design composed of two aspherical plastic lenses. In the first stage of study, we designed 1GRIN 1P lenses by using commercially available SELFOC materials. But, the conventional 2P lenses had better performance than the 1GRIN 1P lenses. In the 1GRIN 1P designs, the performance depends on index variation of GRIN material, the larger variation gives the better performance. Hence, we tried to design by using fictitious GRIN materials which have large index variation. We found if the index variation could be increased to about 3 times that of currently available SELFOC materials, the 1GRIN 1P lens will have equivalent or better performance than the conventional 2P design.

  • This paper specifies on a virtual array design of a 77 GHz vehicle radar for detecting a moving target at a time division transmit and a near range. The virtual array designed reduces a hardware complexity, weight and price. However, a synthesized beam of the virtual array has a high side lobe by a phase distortion of receive signals when the moving target is detected at the time division transmit. For this, a subarray receive signal with a same phase is used and the side lobe of the synthesized beam is suppressed above at least 10 dB. Also the virtual array has a beam distortion by a spherical wave when the vehicle radar operates at near range. So a boresight receive signal of each target range is compensated at each receive signal. Therefore the synthesized beam with compensation recovers a normal main lobe and improves the side lobe about 10~15 dB.

Analysis of Performance of Focused Beamformer Using Water Pulley Model Array (수차 모형 배열을 이용한 표적추정 (Focused) 빔형성기 성능분석)

  • This paper proposes the Focused beamforming to estimate the location of target residing near to the observation platform in the underwater environment. The Focused beamforming technique provides the location of target by the coherent summation of a series of incident spherical waveforms considering distinct propagation delay times at the sensor array. But due to the movement of the observation platform and the variation of the underwater environment, the shape of the sensor array is no longer to be linear but it becomes distorted as the platform moves. Thus the Focused beamforming should be peformed regarding to the geometric shape variation at each time. To estimate the target location, the artificial image plane comprised of cells is constructed, and the delays are calculated from each cell where the target could be proximity to sensors for the coherent summation. After the coherent combining, the beam pattern can be obtained through the Focused beamforming on the image plane. Futhermore to compensate the variation of the shape of the sensor array, the paper utilizes the Nth-order polynomial approximation to estimate the shape of the sensor array obeying the water pulley modeling. Simulation results show the performance of the Focused beamforming for different frequency bands of the radiated signal.

단원자 팁 기반 가스장 이온빔(Gas Field Ionization Beam)생성

  • 과학과 기술이 발전할수록 나노크기를 넘어서 나노 크기미만의 관찰 분해능과 가공능력이 필수로 요구되어 측정장비와 가공장비의 연구 및 개발이 매우 중요하다. 현재는 주사전자현미경과 투과전자현미경의 발달로 나노크기 이하의 이미징 분해능에는 도달하였지만, 전자 입자의 가벼운 무게 때문에 가공측면에서는 한계를 가지고 있다. 또한 지난 수십 년간 정밀가공에 사용된 갈륨이온 LMIS(Liquid Metal Ion Source)기반의 집속이온빔 시스템은 수십 nm의 가공정밀도를 가지지만 10 nm 미만의 가공정밀도까지 구현하기에는 현재 기술적인 한계로 힘들다. 나노크기 이하의 이미징 분해능과 수 nm의 가공정밀도를 갖는 이온현미경이 최근에 상용화되어 판매되고 있는데, 이 이온 현미경에 사용되는 것이 가스장 이온원(GFIS:Gas Field Ionization Source)이다. 가스장 이온원은 작은 발산각, 작은 가상 이온원 크기 그리고 좁은 에너지 퍼짐의 특징을 가지며 이에 따라 구면수차 및 색수차에도 둔감한 특징을 가지고 있다. 또한 LMIS 는 갈륨이온이 시편속에 파고들어 시편의 물질 특성이 변화되는 문제가 있지만, GFIS에서는 주로 He, Ne 와 같은 불활성 기체를 주로 사용하므로 시편과 반응을 최소화 할 수 있는 장점도 있다. 위와 같은 특징을 갖는 이온빔을 GFIS 로 생성하고 이온현미경에 사용하기 위해서는 이온빔이 팁의 단원자 내지 수 개 정도의 원자에서 생성되도록 해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 GFIS 의 원리를 소개하고 장(전계)이온현미경(Field Ion Microscope)실험을 통하여 GFIS기반으로 생성된 이온빔의 형상을 보여준다. 또한 높은 각전류밀도 구현을 위하여 질소가스 에칭으로 텅스텐 팁 끝 단원자에서만 이온빔을 생성하고, 각전류 밀도 계산과 안정도 실험결과로 본 연구에서 개발한 이온원이 이온총으로서의 이온현미경 적용 가능성에 대해 보여준다.
