Parametric Study on the tendency of Stiffness Variation using Variable Stiffness Mechanism (변수변화에 따른 가변강성 메커니즘의 강성변화 경향성에 관한 연구)

  • In general, a system can be stable when it is designed with a rigid material. However, the use of a rigid system can be limited, such as grasping a glass or using a small surgical instrument. To resolve this limitation, a variable stiffness mechanism was developed using a flexible material. Previous research verified the variable stiffness mechanism where flexible segments and rigid segments were connected alternately in series. However, research into the design parameters of the variable stiffness structure is needed to satisfy the desired stiffness. Therefore, a variable stiffness structure was tested by varying the design parameters to confirm the trend of the stiffness variation. When the radius of the structure becomes larger, the stiffness increases. The stiffness increased with decreasing length of the flexible segments. Under the same design parameters, the length of the flexible segments had a greater effect on the stiffness than the length of the rigid segments. In addition, the stiffness was estimated using the pseudo rigid body model and was compared with the experimental results. This parametric study can be used as a design guideline for designing the variable stiffness mechanism to satisfy the desired stiffness.

Design and Hardware Implementation of High-Speed Variable-Length RSA Cryptosystem (가변길이 고속 RSA 암호시스템의 설계 및 하드웨어 구현)

  • In this paper, with targeting on the drawback of RSA of operation speed, a new 1024-bit RSA cryptosystem has been proposed and implemented in hardware to increase the operational speed and perform the variable-length encryption. The proposed cryptosystem mainly consists of the modular exponentiation part and the modular multiplication part. For the modular exponentiation, the RL-binary method, which performs squaring and modular multiplying in parallel, was improved, and then applied. And 4-stage CSA structure and radix-4 booth algorithm were applied to enhance the variable-length operation and reduce the number of partial product in modular multiplication arithmetic. The proposed RSA cryptosystem which can calculate at most 1024 bits at a tittle was mapped into the integrated circuit using the Hynix Phantom Cell Library for Hynix 0.35㎛ 2-Poly 4-Metal CMOS process. Also, the result of software implementation, which had been programmed prior to the hardware research, has been used to verify the operation of the hardware system. The size of the result from the hardware implementation was about 190k gate count and the operational clock frequency was 150㎒. By considering a variable-length of modulus number, the baud rate of the proposed scheme is one and half times faster than the previous works. Therefore, the proposed high speed variable-length RSA cryptosystem should be able to be used in various information security system which requires high speed operation.

  • In this note, a systematic design of a new robust nonlinear continuous variable structure control system(VSCS) based on the modified state dependent nonlinear form is presented for the control of uncertain affine nonlinear systems with mismatched uncertainties and matched disturbance. After an affine uncertain nonlinear system is represented in the form of state dependent nonlinear system, a systematic design of a new robust nonlinear VSCS is presented. The uncertainty of the nonlinear system function is separated into the tow parts, i.e., state dependent term and state independent term for extension of target plants. To be linear in the closed loop resultant dynamics and in order to easily satisfy the existence condition of the sliding mode, the transformed linear sliding surface is applied. A corresponding control input is proposed to satisfy the closed loop exponential stability and the existence condition of the sliding mode on the linear transformed sliding surface, which will be investigated in Theorem 1. For practical application, the discontinuity of the control input as the inherent property of the VSS is improved dramatically. Through a design example and simulation studies, the usefulness of the proposed controller is verified.

Variable Clustering Management for Multiple Streaming of Distributed Mobile Service (분산 모바일 서비스의 다중 스트리밍을 위한 가변 클러스터링 관리)

  • In the mobile service environment, patterns generated by temporal synchronization are streamed with different instance values. This paper proposed a variable clustering management method, which manages multiple data streaming dynamically, to support flexible clustering. The method manages synchronization effectively and differently with conventional streaming methods in data streaming environment and manages clustering streaming after the structural presentation level and the fitness presentation level. In the structural presentation level, the stream structure is presented using level matching and accumulation matching, and clustering management is carried out by the management of dynamic segment and static segment. The performance of the proposed method is tested by using k-means method, C/S server method, CDN method, and simulation. The test results showed that the proposed method has better performance than the other methods.

  • This study develops a variable structure controller using the time-varying nonlinear sliding surface instead of the fixed sliding surface, which has been the robustness against parameter variations and extraneous disturbance during the reaching phase. By appling TS fuzzy algorithm to the regulation of the rionlinear sliding surface, the reaching time of the system trajectory is faster than the fixed method. This proposed scheme has better performance than the conventional method in reaching time, parameter variation and extraneous disturbance. To demonstrate its performance, the proposed control algorithm is applied to a rotational inverted pendulum.

  • 본 논문의 연구 목적은 효율적인 비디오 브라우징에 관한 연구이다. 비디오 스트림을 효율적으로 저장 및 재생하는 브라우징 시스템의 기본 구조로는 결정적 유한 오토마타를 사용하였다. 인덱싱 단계에서는 기존의 비디오 정보 또는 오디오 정보 한가지만을 사용하여 분야별로 특수하게 모델링하는 방법을 개선하여 비디오 스트림과 오디오 스트림 모두를 이용하는 새로운 인덱싱 방법을 제시하였다. 즉, 일차적으로 비디오 정보를 이용하여 동영상 데이터를 장면 단위로 분할한 후, 오디오 정보를 이용하여 에피소드 단위로 분할하여 인덱싱을 실행하였다. 이를 결정적 유한 오토마타 형태의 논리적인 구조로 에피소드들을 재구성하여 사용자의 요구에 따라 가변적인 재생 시간을 갖는 비디오 브라우징 시스템을 설계하였다.

  • To implement an automatic picking system (APS) in distribution center with high precision and high dynamics, this paper presents a design of a linear induction motor (LIM) drive and robust position controller based on integral variable structure control (IVSC) scheme. The force disturbance as well as the mechanical parameter variation such as the mass and friction coefficient gives a direct influence on the position control performance of APS. To guarantee a robust control performance in the presence of such uncertainty, a robust position controller is designed. A Simulink library is developed for the LIM model from the state equation. Through this model and comparative simulation based on Matlab - Simulink, it is proved that the proposed scheme has a robust control nature and is most suitable for APS.

  • 파장 가변형 광 필터와 파장 선택형 광 스위치는 파장분할다중 광통신 및 광 교환 시스템을 구현하는데 매우 중요한 소자들 중의 하나이다. 특히 음향광학효과를 이용한 파장 가변형 광 필터(AOTF : Acousto-Optic Tunable Filter)는 150nm 이상의 넓은 파장 가변범위, 1.5nm이하의 좁은 통과대역폭, 수 $\mu\textrm{s}$ 정도의 비교적 빠른 스위칭 속도 그리고 여러 개의 파장 채널을 동시에 선택할 수 있는 장점들을 가지고 있지만, 한편으로 표면 음향파(SAW: Surface Acoustic Wave) 구동에 필요한 RF 파워와 부 모드 (sidelobe)가 비교적 크다는 단점 때문에 실용화에 많은 제약을 받아왔다.
