Critical Discourse of Postmodern Aesthetics in Contemporary Furniture (III) - Consideration of the Ecology of Our Environment in New Design Furniture in terms of the Postmodern Aesthetics of Communication

  • 이 논문은 우리 환경의 생태계 보호를 위하여 뉴 디자인 가구가 어떻게 창조되고 있는지를 연구하였다. 즉, 오늘날 포스트 모던 시대에 뉴 디자인 가구 디자이너들이 환경 문제의 해결점의 하나로 새롭고 다른 방향으로 자신들의 가구를 창조할 수 있는가에 관한 담론이다. 우리가 안고 있는 생태계 보호를 위한 가구를 디자인할 때 필요한 재사용 및 재활용이 가능한 재료들, 유행을 초월한 가구, 가구의 견고성, 대량 생산 가구 등이 심각하게 분석되었다. 이 분석에 따르면 뉴 디자인 가구 디자이너들은 재활용된 재료들, 주거 환경 및 지속성, 새로운 가구 미학을 내포한 새로운 가구 디자인 철학을 얻을 수 있었다. 대량 생산된 가구는 경제성 때문에 많은 대중에게 접근되는 좋은 점보다는 우리에게 더 많은 쓰레기 더미를 준다라는 사실이 뉴 디자인 가구 다자이너들에게는 매우 심각한 문제였다. 따라서 가구 디자이너들이 양보다는 질에 중점을 둔 가구를 창조하는 것이 필요하다는 것이다. 결론적으로 환경적 책임을 느낀 뉴 디자인 가구 디자이너들은 튼튼하면서 재활용될 수 있으며 유행을 초월한 기능적이면서도 미적인 가구를 창조할 때만이 뉴 디자인 가구론 구입하는 소비자들이 뉴 디자인 가구를 올바른 방향에서 인식할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 목재를 주요 소재로 한 생활가구를 주력으로 하는 스탠다드에이는 OEM 가구가 아닌 디자인부터 재료 선정과 가공(제작), 마감까지 전 과정을 담당하는, 오리지널 가구와 비스포크(맞춤) 가구를 취급하는 디자인스튜디오라고 할 수 있다. 제작자의 노력과 고민이 제품의 수명과 직결된다는 신념 아래 소재와 기능에 대한 그동안의 경험치를 바탕으로 정직함이 묻어나는 가구를 추구하는 이들. 현재는 파주에 제작소를, 서울 합정역 인근에 쇼룸을 두고 있으며 다양한 개인 또는 기업의 의뢰를 받아 작업을 해오고 있다. 지난 7월 8일, 스탠다드에이의 쇼룸에서 두 명의 실장을 만났다.

A Study on the Technique and Process of Bending Wood

  • Materials are such an important factor in designing furniture. Wood is the biggest part of furniture materials. While wood is soft, eco-friendly and natural material, it is variable because it is characterized by severe expansion and contraction. Thus, if the changeable characteristic of wood is not considered in furniture design, the good design of furniture cannot be produced. As one of the skills dealing with woods, bending is such a useful way for making various forms of furniture. While it has been used in furniture-making for a long time, wood processing techniques like steaming bending, bending with ammonia and high frequency bending has been advanced. As wood is a viscoelastic material and has some plasticity, beautiful curves can be created when force is applied. Therefore this paper studies the types of bending methods for furniture and each characteristic of them. Furthermore, this study classifies wood process according to suitability for mass production or small-scale production and researches the proper wood process by the forms and the way of furniture production. Also this study aims to help furniture designers and cabinet makers with wood bending.

  • 1인 가구의 비율은 계속하여 증가하고 있으며 요리정보를 얻기 위한 쿡(Cook)방, 먹방, 요리추천 애플리케이션 등의 인기도 계속되고 있다. 요리에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 1인 가구 또한 요리에 많은 시간을 투자하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편, 기존 요리추천 애플리케이션에서는 사용자의 기호만 고려하기 때문에 사용자가 가지고 있는 재료를 고려하지 않은 문제가 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 요리정보의 수요를 충족시킴과 동시에 인공지능 이미지 인식 기술을 활용하여 현재 가진 재료로 지금 당장 만들 수 있는 요리와 레시피를 추천하는 서비스를 제공하여 1인 가구에 최적화된 솔루션을 제공한다.

  • Modem metal furniture design can be defined as the spirit of the times. It reflects the society we are living in; political and social issues, new technology and materials developed, structural solution and changes on the sense of value of a period. Therefore, the metal furniture design professionals must understand the flow of the society before designing or producing. Understanding the trends of a period is crucial for the metal furniture designers to develop the speciality. This study aims to offer the chance to understand and analyse the characteristics of contemporary metal furniture design and the cultural development. It gives the theories on the relationship between the environmental background and social factors that have influenced on the development of metal furniture design.

Sensory and Rheological Properties of Jeungpyun made with various Additives (첨가재료에 따른 증편의 관능적.물성적 특성)

  • This study was carried out in order to investigate the effect of additives on Jeungpyun (fermented and steamed rice cake) Preparation. Soy bean flour, whole milk Powder, skim milk Powder, egg yolk, egg white, and mugwort were added in the Preparation of Jeungpyun. There were not significantly difference in loaf volume between control and experimental groups addfd egg yolk, egg white and mugwort. In sensory evaluation, the hardness of Jeungpyun containing of soy bean flour, milk Powder, and egg were lower than control The Jeungpyun containing mugwort was more bitter and harder than the control. The rheological properties measured by texturometer were significantly different among the Jeungpyun added with different kinds of additives. The hardness was significantly lower in Jeungpyun containing whole milk Powder and soy bean flour and springiness was higher in mugwort Jeungpyun compared with the control. In 4$^{\circ}C$ storage, retrogradation of Jeungpyun assessed from hardness measured by texturometer was delayed by addition of soy bean flour and whole milk powder.

  • The 4th industrial revolution will have brought smart furniture integrated with IT technology and provide a convenient and comfortable environment for our lives. Therefore, this study analyzed the design characteristics of fusion integrated furniture based on changes of the times. In 20th centuries, characteristic of fusion design was based on architectural structure, new material and function. In 21st centuries, smart home furniture and network system was developed based on IT technology. In addition, due to the increase of single-person households and various consumer purchasing patterns, combined functions for small spaces and multi-function furniture was also developed. In conclusion, the trends of convergence design furniture from 20 to 21st century showed that furniture industry has a significant potential for high-tech technology. This study may be a useful information in developing convergence design furniture industry.

  • This study aims to suggest the direction in which furniture design can contribute, keeping with the trend of small quantity batch production by analyzing cases of furniture design manufacturing. This study analyzed cases of furnitures and lights made by 3D printing with 3 classifications. They are 1st, classification by correlation between 3D printing method and materials, 2nd, classification by 8 formative characteristics of 3D printing furniture design, 3rd, comparison analysis of competitiveness between existing furniture design and 3D printing furniture design by practicality, usability and durability. The competitiveness 3D printing technique arouses in furniture design industry, which is investigated in this thesis, is as follows. 1st, small quantity batch production, which caters to personal taste, is made possible. 2nd, transmission and transportation via digital are became more convenient. 3rd, it brings about a breakthrough in furniture design manufacturing. 4th, there is room for development into the 'smart furniture design' industry through collaborative use of 3D printing and internet of things. 5th, an Eco-friendly method of furniture design is consistently facilitated.
