Effects of Aucklandia lappa Decne. Extract on Hair Growth in Depilated CL57BL/6 Mice (CL57BL/6 마우스의 발모에 미치는 목향 추출물의 영향)

  • Aucklandia lappa Decne., a traditional herbal medicine, has been used to treat various diseases, including asthma, coughs, rheumatism, and diarrhea. In the present study, the effects of the oral administration of Aucklandia lappa Decne. extract on hair growth was investigated in hair-removed mice. A 70% ethanol extract of Aucklandia lappa Decne. (ALD) was prepared, and the extraction yield and total polyphenol content of ALD were measured as 27.30±0.01 and 28.39 mg gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/g, respectively. The oral administration of ALD to hair-removed CL57BL/6 mice for six weeks had no significant effects on food intake and body weight changes. Biochemical and histological examinations also showed that the oral administration of ALD for six weeks had no significant effect on the liver and kidney functions. On the other hand, hair growth was significantly higher in the ALD group than the control group and the Pancidil group (positive control). In addition, the number of hair follicles and the degree of collagen production in the dermis were significantly higher in the ALD group than in the control and pancidil groups. These results suggest that ALD is a potential source of nutricosmetics with hair growth-promoting effects.

Prediction of Mechanical Properties and Behavior of Polymer Matrix Composites Based on Machine Learning (기계학습에 기반한 고분자 복합수지의 기계적 물성 거동 예측)

  • Research on polymer matrix composites with excellent molding processability and mechanical properties in the automotive field including hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles is expanding to Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) to support the design of materials with specific mechanical properties. CAE automation requires the prediction of the mechanical properties and behavior of materials. Unlike single materials, the mechanical properties prediction of polymer matrix composites is difficult to explain with formulas because the mechanical behavior is complicated to be explained only by the relationship between the matrix and the filler. In this study, the stress-strain curve according to the composition of polymer matrix composites, which was difficult to predict due to its sensitivity to large plastic deformation and composition, was predicted based on machine learning of the test data. The developed model finds a complex correlation between matrix and filler types and compositions, and predicts the total stress-strain curve meaningfully even in the absence of learned test data. It is expected that the material design AI system can be completed in the future based on the developed model that predicts the mechanical properties of polymer matrix composites even for the combination and composition that have not been learned.

  • This study is to develop the direction of the development of the next-generation mapping of marine information required to develop a base of the utilization localization of maritime production tools. The GIS data-processing products and technologies currently used in the Korea's marine sector depend on external applications which is renewal costs, technical updates, and unreflected characteristics. Meanwhile, the S-100 standard, the next generation hydrographic data model that complements S-57's problems in marine GIS data processing, was adopted as a new marine data standard. This study aims to present the current status and problems of marine GIS technology in Korea and to suggest the development direction of GIS software based on the next generation hydrogrphic data model S-100 standard of IHO(International Hydrographic Organization). S-100-based marine GIS localization technology development and industrial ecosystem development research is expected to scientific decision-making on policy issues that occur with other countries such as marine territory management and development and use of marine resources.

Development of an intelligent skin condition diagnosis information system based on social media

  • Diagnosis and management of customer's skin condition is an important essential function in the cosmetics and beauty industry. As the social media environment spreads and generalizes to all fields of society, the interaction of questions and answers to various and delicate concerns and requirements regarding the diagnosis and management of skin conditions is being actively dealt with in the social media community. However, since social media information is very diverse and atypical big data, an intelligent skin condition diagnosis system that combines appropriate skin condition information analysis and artificial intelligence technology is necessary. In this paper, we developed the skin condition diagnosis system SCDIS to intelligently diagnose and manage the skin condition of customers by processing the text analysis information of social media into learning data. In SCDIS, an artificial neural network model, AnnTFIDF, that automatically diagnoses skin condition types using artificial neural network technology, a deep learning machine learning method, was built up and used. The performance of the artificial neural network model AnnTFIDF was analyzed using test sample data, and the accuracy of the skin condition type diagnosis prediction value showed a high performance of about 95%. Through the experimental and performance analysis results of this paper, SCDIS can be evaluated as an intelligent tool that can be used efficiently in the skin condition analysis and diagnosis management process in the cosmetic and beauty industry. And this study can be used as a basic research to solve the new technology trend, customized cosmetics manufacturing and consumer-oriented beauty industry technology demand.

  • Recently, the South Korean government actively opens the public data to encourage people to use it in private sector. It is based on 'Government 3.0' that is the paradigm for government operation. According to this trend, a data platform is required for establishing and commercializing business models that utilizing geospatial data. However, it is currently insufficient to establish the geospatial data system using the text-based public open data. This study constructs a geospatial data supply system using the public data for the purpose of providing and using the public data of spatial reference type efficiently. It improves the accessibility of user and the usability to the public data having location information. Besides, this study suggests that the components of the appliance system that connects the public data from different public institutions for different purposes with producing the geospatial data in the type of a finished product.

  • This dissertation analyzes the running mechanism of flexible and thin tape above rotating head through the experiment. The scope of study is confined to measure the vertical deformation of running tape under hydrodynamic pressure invoking phenomena of elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication between the protruded bump on a rotating cylinder ad the running tape. Experimental system is devised to measure the vertical deflection of the running tape by opto-electronical displacement gauge, which enables to detect microscopic surface deflection of high frequency. Thorough the tests of small specimens of groove and bump, the accuracy and reliability of this experimental method is confirmed and achieved an accuracy within 5%(2.mu.m) error for the microscopic deflection with high frequency. In experimental works, the effects of bump size on flying characteristics of the tape were evaluated and examined. For the vertical deformation of the running tape. the numerical results and its trend agree qualitatively with the experimental ones.

Determining of Risk Ranking for Processed Foods in Korea (국내 주요 가공식품에 대한 위해순위 결정)

  • The risk ranking of food groups included the Korea Food Code is a potentially powerful means to prioritize food safety management strategies. Although the interest in risk ranking of food groups has been increasing worldwide, there was, until recently, no standard system in Korea for the risk ranking of food groups. This study was conducted to rank food groups using theoretically estimated comparative risk scores of 101 food groups included the Korea Food Code. These scores were estimated using the risk evaluation model, which focuses on 3 aspects, namely, exposure assessment, severity assessment, and consumption part. The results of this study revealed that the risk was the highest in the case of ready-to-eat (RTE) food items, followed by fish products and breads. Using this ranking system, we can identify the food with high risk scores and design risk management strategies targeted specifically at these items.

  • Construction cost index (CCI) has been published for last 10 years, it's contributed to update the historical cost data, analysis cost fluctuation and evaluate the market price for construction works with direct or indirect manner. CCI is a secondary or processed statistics using the basic statistics of input output table (IO table) and producer price index (PPI) from the Bank of Korea (BOK). So once the basic statistics change, it is required to modify the calculating model of CCI. Recently the BOK changed some fundamental principles and the base year (from 2005 to 2010), that can be used in IO table and PPI. This research analyzed the recent revision of basic statistics and their impacts on CCI, and improved the previous CCI model in response to it. Also the validity of new CCI was verified by analyzing the items and weights utilized in CCI and comparing the related index.

형상비를 고려한 중공 플랜지의 밀폐단조 해석

  • 동력 전달용 구동부품에 있어서 중공 플랜지 형상의 부품은 흔히 찾아 볼 수 있으며, 이는 높은 강도를 요구하기 때문에 강도향상을 위하여 단조에 의한 제품의 성형 방법이 많이 연구되고 있다. 중공 플랜지형상을 갖는 제품의 제조 방법으로서는 중실 플랜지 형상으로 단조하여 내경부를 절삭가공하는 방법, 중실 소재를 후방압출하여 중공 플랜지형상으로 단조하는 방법, 또는 중공의 초기소재를 사용하여 중공 플랜지형상으로 단조하는 방법이 일반적이다. 본 연구에서는 Fig. 1에 나타낸 것과 같이 중공 플랜지 형상을 갖는 기계 부품의 단조방법에 대해 연구하였으며, 중공 관의 내경을 $d^1$, 외경을 $d^2$, 플랜지부의 외경을 $D^0$, 중공 관의 두께를 t, 플랜지부의 두께를 T로 정의하였다. 중공 플랜지 형상에 있어서 공정 설계의 변수는 다양하겠으나, 본 연구에서는 중공관의 외경과 내경의 형상비 $\alpha$(=$d^2$/$d^1$), 플랜지의 폭과 중공관의 두께비 $\beta$(=B/t) 및 중공관의 두께와 플랜지의 두께비 r(=T/t)의 변화에 따른 성형조건에 관해 고찰하였다. 중공 플랜지 형상의 성형방법으로 Fig. 2에 나타낸 것과 같은 $\circled1$중실소재를 이용한 후방압출단조(backward extrusion forging)방법, $\circled2$중공 소재를 이용한 엎셋(upset forging)방법, $\circled3$중공 소재를 이용한 압조법(injection forging), $\circled4$중실소재를 이용한 압조-압출(injection-extruding forging)법의 4가지의 단조 방법을 제시 하였다. 또한, 유한요소해석을 수행하여 소성유동 형태, 유효변형률, 단조하중을 검토하고. 모델재료인 납을 이용한 실험을 통하여 이를 검증하였다. 이를 바탕으로 산업 현장에서 경험에 의존하였던 공정 설계를 보다 효과적으로 개선하기 위한 단조법을 제시하고자 하였다. 또한 중실 소재를 이용한 중공 플랜지 형상의 단조 방법 중 보다 적절한 단조방법인 압조 단조에 있어서 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 SM10C에 대한 유한요소 해석을 수행하였으며, 제품의 형상비에 따라 폴딩 결함의 발생 유무를 검토하고, 폴딩 결함 없이 단조하기 위한 중공 플랜지의 형상한계 비를 제시하였다.

Structural Performance Evaluation to Centrally Compressed CFT Columns Using Seismic Rectangular Steel Tube (중심압축력을 받는 내진 건축구조용 각형강관 CFT 부재의 구조성능평가)

  • In this study, This study investigates the axial load behavior of concrete-filled steel columns using seismic rectangular steel tube with the width-to-thickness and slenderness ratio. Due to cold-roll forming and cold-press forming of steel tube, the flat part and the corner part of the rectangular steel tubes are changed in the material properties compared to SN-steel plate. It was showed the tendency to increase yield strength, tensile strength and upper limit of yield ratio This phenomenon affects the nonlinear behavior after local buckling of the steel tube. Therefore, the coupon test was performed by the processing of rectangular steel tube, in order to assess forming performance. And a total of 6 CFT-columns were tested under monotonic loading condition. Main parameters were the width-thickness ratio and the slenderness ratio.
