  • In industrial practice, caliber design in shape rolling depends on the designer's experience, which in general is obtained through costly trial-and error process. on-line model which is relations of mean effective strain, roll force and area reduction is derived from finite element process simultion in bar rolling with three rolls.

  • 이글에서는 SIMAN을 사용한 생산시스템의 시뮬레이션에 대하여 알아보았다. 1.1 매크로 스브모델 1.2 가공순서와 가공설비의 스케주울 1.3 자재운반 시스템의 모델링 2. SIMAN의 응용사례 SIMAN의 기본이념과 모델링 특성에 관하여 개괄적으로 고찰하고, 주로 생산시스템에 관련된 SIMAN의 특성에 중점을 두어 고찰하였다. SIMAN에서 사용되는 가종 블록에 대하여, 또 다른 여러 가지 모델링 기능에 대하여는 지면 관계상 생략하였다. SIMAN은 일반 목적용 시뮬레이션 언어로써는 물론, 특히 SMS등의 생산시스템의 시률레이션에 아주 유용한 언어로써 이의 광범 위한 활용이 기재된다.

  • 최근의 생산시스템은 FMS,FMC와 같은 고도로 자동화된 무인시스템으로 운용되고 있으며, 생산성 향상을 위한 무인운전의 필요성이 증대되고 있으나, 숙련된 작업자를 대신하여 작업상태를 감시하는 신뢰성 있는 감시 시스템의 부족으로 인해 곤란을 겪고 있다.따라서 작업자를 대신할수 있는 신뢰성있는 감시 시스템의 개발을 필요로 한다. 특히 공구파손,공구마멸과 같은 공구손상은 공작물 및 기계에 치명적 손상을 초래하고, 기계정지시간을 증가시키므로 공구파손 검출과 공구마멸의 실시간 센싱은 가공 프로세스의 자동화와 신뢰성을 증가시키는데 가장 중요한 역활을 수행한다. 본 연구에서는 드릴가공시 검출한 주축 및 Z축 모터전류를 기초로 하여 드릴마멸을 추정하는 모델을 개발하고자 한다.

  • The analysis of thermoplastic automotive bumpers needs not only characterizations of the thermomechanical properties of thermoplastic materials but also the finite element method which can solve the problems with a large deflection, an elastic-inelastic deformation, and a change of a contact state. This paper describes the modeling techniques in the finite element analysis in order to get a good prediction of thermoplastic bumper behaviors. Simplification effects of a complex geometry of thermoplastic bumpers are studied by comparing the results from static loading tests and the finite element analysis.

  • In this study, laser welding of aluminum AA5182 with AA5356 filler wire was carried out and the formability of the weld joint was evaluated through Erichsen test according to laser power, welding speed and wire feed rate. Fracture was occurred in both directions, perpendicular and parallel to the weld line at 0.75 of Erichsen ratio. Second order Regression model to estimate Erichsen ratio with experimental variables was proposed and the performance of model was evaluated with F-test and average error rate.

  • Circular milling operations are used to enlarge die and cylinder bores, and machine airframe pockets. In this case, cutting force varies as cutting tool position relative to workpiece. This paper presents a mechanistic model of geometric uncut chip thickness by predicting time varying cutter-part intersection as the cutter travels along the circular path. Compared with experimental results, the suggested cutting force model shows a good agreement.

  • Based on the experimental observation, the mathematical friction model, which is an essential information for analyzing the forming process of sheet metal, is developed considering lubricant viscosity, surface roughness and hardness, punch corner radius, and punch speed. By comparing the punch load found by FEM with a proposed friction model with experimental measurement when the coated and uncoated steel sheets are formed in 2-D geometry in dry and lubricant conditions, the validity and accuracy of the developed friction model are demonstrated.

  • In describing the plastic deformation behaviour of fine grained materials a phase mixture model in which a polycrystalline material is regarded as a mixture of a crystalline phase and a grain boundary phase has been successful. The deformation mechanism for the grain boundary phase which is necessary for applying the phase mixture model is modelled as a diffusional flow of matter though the grain boundary. The proposed model can explain the strain rate and grain size dependence of the strength of the grain boundary phase.

  • During sheet metal forming on a double-action press, drawbeads on the blankholder supply a restraining force which controls the flow of metal into the die. The sheet formability can be improved by the optimum drawbeads installation when the punch enters into the die opening. Experiments on the various drawbeads, circular, step, double circular, and circular-step drawbead, have been performed under various working conditions.
